Ella James has an excellent review here . Note: there *are* spoilers!

Addition: Too often faith-based books suffer from too much preaching & too little plot, but these book do *not*. The plots are intense & complex.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Riveting, Heartfelt Journey

Land Without Shame is one of those rare books that manages to be both a gripping page-turner and a deeply moving emotional experience. From the very first chapter, I was pulled into a world of high stakes, danger, and courage, but what set this story apart for me was the way it blended action with heart.

The characters felt so real, flawed yet inspiring, and their struggles carried a weight that stayed with me long after I turned the last page. The faith-based themes were woven in naturally, without ever feeling forced, making the story not only thrilling but also uplifting.

The pacing was spot-on never a dull moment, and the twists were unpredictable but satisfying. By the end, I felt both wrung out and inspired, the way only the best stories can make you feel.

If you enjoy Christian suspense with depth, moral courage, and a strong emotional core, Land Without Shame is an absolute must-read. It’s more than just entertainment, it’s a reminder of hope, resilience, and the power of truth.

Cody Musket legacy lives on

As his parents before him, Cody dives into danger to save lives and souls of children in danger. Mr. Miller did it again, continuing the legacy of rescuing children in the most dangerous of circumstances, knowing God has got his back, and shares his life giving faith with friend and foe alike. I would most certainly want to see another installment of the Musket family.

I got this book a few months ago forgot about it and then I finally read it and WOW. I can’t believe i didn’t read it sooner! It is amazing! I love how the author incorporated faith and the Christian life into the story. Now I have to read the first 3 to get the whole story. But this book is good as a novel as well (but I’m glad it’s not!)

Very intense story from the first page. Cody is following his parents & sister in the fight against those who would enslave others, but is "sidetracked" when the plane he is on is hijacked. A wide cast of characters makes this a rich story.

Addition: Too often faith-based books suffer from too much preaching & too little plot, but these book do *not*. The plots are intense & complex.

James Miller is one very talented writer. He takes you on a journey to a world few would know exists. Cody Musket braves dangers that would make the average person blanche, but comes through with grit and determination. This is a riveting read from beginning to end. You won't want to put it down. It as an uplifting tale at the same time as one very suspenseful story. Cudos, Mr. Miller!

Really enjoyed this read. As I started with this book,I've enjoyed it so much I've prepared to read the first three books of this series as well. As a firm believer in family I love how Cody's family holds their faith in God and sticks together. James N Miller has captivated my attention and brought me in for reading more of his novels. A must read this brilliant crime thriller is.

The author, James Nathaniel Miller, II takes us back to the beginning of No Pit So Deep, the Cody and Brandi Musket Story, and then fast-forwards us into the belly of book 2. This fast-paced novel doesn’t miss a step in the storytelling process.

The emotional intensity of this novel based on true events will take you into some deep, dark places, and then shed an illuminating light to sort through the wreckage. You’ll see the damage caused by physical and psychological warfare imposed on the victims and then rescuers during human trafficking operations.

Cody’s plan to snatch Knoxi from the South American cartel grew in scope as she brilliantly carried out a plan they’d rehearsed in preparation of dire straits before the kidnapping. His hired team of comrades joined in and orchestrated the release of more captives along their way to freedom. The numbers grew to fifty children plus adults that were espoused from the pits of hell.

The crusaders against tyranny lead the innocents through the Amazon jungle, barely creeping at times battling the deep confines of nature as it lashed out or the children were too tired, or hungry to go on.

Cody’s hired comrades stayed the course with Knoxi playing a lead role and longtime friends coming to their aid in the final moments of their exodus.

The story doesn’t stop here. You’ll be taken into the next chapter of their lives and blown away by the spiritual aspect that defies reason. This is a story that needed telling about the threat of human trafficking and the divine manifestation of love, hope, and trust.

In No Pit So Deep, the author brings you full circle, taking you back to Cody leaving for an important meeting in Brandi’s mustang. You’ll enjoy this thrilling paramilitary novel relating to human trafficking. A must-read for suspense lovers. Highly recommended!

We sometimes face situations when we have done all we can humanly do. At times like that, we find out what we are truly made of. The story of Cody, Brandi, and Knoxi continues. Knoxi is only seven years old, but what a precocious little girl she is. While Cody and Brandi are awaiting a flight to Madrid, Knoxi is on her way with trusted friends to their home where she will stay while her parents are away. Suddenly the friends are accosted and Knoxi is kidnapped in broad daylight. No one knows who the kidnappers are, nor where they have taken Knoxi. The action is intense. The tension and suspense are almost unimaginable. As a parent, I am thankful we never had to deal with anything as horrendous as having one of our children kidnapped. Cody and Brandi had far more resources at their disposal than we ever could have dreamed of having. And I am not just referring to financial resources. Cody had some serious military training and experience as well as loyal friends who would storm the gates of you-know-where to help him. I appreciated the faith that Cody and Brandi had, and that they had ingrained that faith into their daughter. Most of the friends they brought together to help get their daughter back did not share their faith but they were respectful toward Cody and Brandi. By the end of the book, several of them seemed to be open to the truth of the Bible. The book has an occasional curse word that I don’t think is necessary, but they are mild considering some of the characters. The roughest of the good guys is an exceptionally rough character who seldom utters a sentence without profanity. Fortunately, his language is not used in the book. I received a copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

Rescue of the innocent

The spellbinding story of passionate hearts seeking to rescue children from the hands of evil men. One such stolen child was Knoxi, whose parents placed children rescued into safe homes. Knoxi at age six is wise beyond her years. Her daddy taught her to be able to hide on plain sight and to always pay attention to the little details.

This story of the saving of not only Knoxi but also 50 other children. The story chronicles their five day journey on foot through trecherous territory. God's power of protection and provision is shown. Because of this family's faith, others saw the power of faith and prayer. The love of God was felt by even those with hardened hearts.

To know there are children stolen, abused, sold into slavery and sometimes killed is heart wrenching. To those who risk their lives to save others, and to give hope to the hopeless, they will have a beautiful reward.

Land Without Shame pulled me in from the very first chapter. The story blends action, faith, and emotion in a way that feels both thrilling and deeply human. Cody Musket Jr. is such a compelling character, tough on the outside but clearly fighting an internal battle between justice and forgiveness. I also loved Diamond Casper’s arc; her transformation from a broken celebrity to someone with purpose and courage felt so real and powerful.

The plot moves fast, with the hijacking and the island setting adding constant tension, but what really stood out to me was the heart behind it all, the message of redemption, compassion, and doing what’s right even when it’s hard. It’s a story that leaves you thinking long after the final page. If you enjoy stories with adventure, faith, and meaningful character growth, this one’s definitely worth reading.

Cody musket

Story pulls you in and doesn't let go. The horror of your child being kidnapped in revenge for the good works you have done to rescue children from human traffickers. And the amazing story of a very young lady who uses everything her father has ever taught her to outwit and escape on her own despite ruthless men looking for her. The story continues with this young lady willing to go back to rescue other children whom she had promised that her larger than life daddy would save them all. A harrowing escape when a handful of men and women and a group of frightened, young children make their way to safety through the jungle.

Child trafficking

Nothing nothing nothing can be so loathsome as child trafficking! Those who commit this crime are the most evil people on Earth. Those who dedicate their lives to rescuing the victims of this crime often putting their own lives and families at risk are true heros. This story highlights one such mission. Words cannot express my gratitude and respect to them.

Faith and Sci-fi meet up with interesting story

I loved this story from the first to the last page. It was exciting and heart warming at the same time which is not something that you often find in a faith based novel. I loved the characters and how they continue to fight for those who have no one else to fight for them.

Knoxi is a character I've fallen in love with. Out of the mouths of babes comes some profound thoughts. The subject matter of this series goes beyond any romance and to the heart of Christianity, LOVE! Your heart will be broken for those preyed upon. How many of us would reach out and fight for the rights of these unfortunates if we had the finances and connections?

Book 2 continues with more drama and suspense

Enjoyed how the story wrapped up. I was wondering about the policemen in the beginning of book 1 and this was answered. I was impressed by the excellent research and the Christian values. Looking forward to book 3.

Lots of suspence.

I enjoyed both books 1&2 very much. Cody and the heros were fleshed out well. Brooke and knoxi were strong personalities also. Book two kept going back and forth and I thought it would never end.

After the first book, wasn’t sure what to expect from this one, but was very pleasantly surprised by the story and the edge of the seat anticipation. Not to belittle the action, thrills, and characters which were all very engaging.
