Rate this book
Artan never knew what to expect when he was called to service on earth, but the sight of his future charge made him think this one wouldn't be so bad, until he gets shot in his first meeting with Elizabeth Savante. Turns out she already has a protector, and he is none too pleased to find that Heaven has taken an interest in his partner.

Khris thought he was safe, his work with Liz kept him constantly moving and out of Heaven's cross hairs. That is until an angel shows up and tells him that a demon is after Liz. And to make matters worse Liz is completely psyched about it. Now he has a choice, he can stay and help protect the best thing that ever happened to him or he can run before Heaven finds out what and where he is.

Was unsure at first if I would enjoy a book about fallen Angels and Archangels. I was pleasantly surprise how fast I became emerged in the characters Liz, Artan and Khris. Their story is uniques that binds them and you want nothing more than their individual stories to thrive as well as their story of their journey and friendship together. I was also impressed with all the smaller stories intertwined and cannot wait to read more about Nareste. This good vs Evil and Angels Vs Angels book is one I would highly recommend.

Liz and Khris work hard to save children that are shunned because they have a gift. It's non stop action but also two people who discover a deep love for each other. I loved all of the mythical creatures that were in this story. I will definitely read more from this author. I highly recommend this book. Keep up the awesome work!

I am a big fan of the paranormal genre, and now I am a big fan of this author! She drew me into the story from the start, so I felt personally invested in the characters' successes and trials. This story brought out the whole spectrum of emotions...happiness, sadness, fear, anger, passion, and love. I highly recommend this book, and I can hardly wait to read Ms. Wright's next story!

Angelic Outcast is a paranormal story. This novel has mystery and romance. What I loved the most is that we got to unravel all the mystery almost like putting a new puzzle together. I also loved being immersed into a different world.

The plot of this book was written very well. I liked the uniqueness of it. This story revolves around angels and demons and special humans. Usually I don't read a lot of stories involving angels as it is just not my favorite, but I am glad I gave this story a chance. I also liked how it was set in another country. It allowed me to feel like I truly was in another world because I didn't know the area they were in. The plot was fast moving, but while I usually find this annoying, I feel it fit with the story.

There are several characters in this story. We get to read the story from several different characters as well. This was the only aspect of this story that I really didn't care for. I just felt like it did not allow me to really get invested in just one character. The characters were not bad. I didn't mind them and found them entertaining, but I did not really get invested the way I would reading a story from only one or two point of views. With all that being said, the story was still good.

The writing style of this story is unique. Readers get to read the story from several peoples point of views. This has its benefits for readers. The readers are in the loop on both sides of the line. They get to read the inner thoughts and underlying motivations from all characters. This can help them better understand the story. With that being said, I did enjoy this, but it also confused me at times. The jumping back and forth from different areas and characters felt too complex for me. I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing, just not something I enjoyed.

Overall, this was an enjoyable book. I always have like books who require me to use my mind to figure out the ending of a book. The only complaints I had about this book were personal preferences. I would recommend this book to any friends who liked similar books or writing styles.

I was given a free copy of this book for review and told it was a new book due to be released Feb 25, 2017. As I leave my review, I see that this book was published back in May of 2016. I feel the author should have clarified that this was a re-release. It does somewhat change my opinion of the book.

This book was just OK. It wasn't a bad book, but the writing style just wasn't for me.

What I did like about the book: the author created her own unique world with unique characters. She put her own spin on things and made a story that was unique and I truly appreciate the effort and time she spent in her world and character building.

What I didn't like. The dialog felt dry and especially in the beginning dialog was used as an information dump to catch readers up on the world around them, instead of slowly letting us discover the world through other cues and contexts. It wasn't bad, I just don't prefer this style of writing. I was gripped in the beginning and by halfway through I was bored.

To be honest, I didn't finish this book. I was bored and had no character attachment. I do think this author and this series has potential, she's just not fully there yet. It doesn't mean she can't get there, and this storyline can be improved in the future. I think she can do it with the right content editor and beta readers that aren't all her best friends.

Now given this IS ALREADY her second go on this same novel, I say it should have been much better. So that drops my initial three star review to a two star. She had almost ten months to change and improve things. I don't know what it was before but it should have been developmentally better. Using dialog as an information dump shouldn't happen, especially in the beginning. It was dry dialog like kids in a sixth-grade play. I just couldn't connect. I wanted to be nicer, but given that this was a re-release and she had a second chance, I just can't be.

Wow! The more I read, the more amazing it was. I was simply blown away by the world-building. The detail was amazing! I loved everything about this book.

The main characters are strong, independent, powerful, and truly good-hearted people. I instantly fell for them and wanted to learn more. I liked the mystery and discovering their traits piece by piece. It kept me reading and riveted to the story.

There was no way for me to know where this story was going to lead. After reading so many books for so many years, it is a pleasure to come upon a book that I can feel the surprise and the mystery in the plot. And even in the end, I wonder if future books will bring new twists and turns to what I already think. So much potential in this beautifully crafted world that the author built. Definitely an author to follow!

Warning: I was not prepared for the sex scenes. There are several - the first about 30% into the book with several (one right after the other), then one near the end. They are quite detailed in trying different ways, but it didn't really distract me too much from the book. Just a good warning for those readers who get caught in the storytelling and forget this book has romance.

This is my first ready by Ms. Wrights. It is a series but this book stands well on it's own and it leaves you wanting more but doesn't leave you hanging from a cliff. I will say that it took me a bit of time to get into the book but once I was in, I was all in! Ms. Wrights - has done her research, I checked! She brings us angels, fallen angels, demons, dragons, trolls and so much more!

Artan is an angel sent to protect Liz - Liz and Kris are in South America finding children that society doesn't pay attention to because they each have some special gift. (one or more of them are meant to survive), and only they can save them. Kris has some gifts but he hides them because he doesn't know how to control them. The adventure begins with Kris finding Artan in the jungle and shooting him to make sure he isn't going to hurt Liz. Artan knows something is different about Kris but can't put his angel sensors on it. Liz, however knows that Artan is an angel immediately and they decide to trust him to help protect them and the children.

The adventure takes off and you are trying to figure out who is to be trusted and it will keep you turning pages. I found her storylines active and involved. Her research on Angels and Demons is superb! If you are in the mood for supernatural actions with some spicey bits! This one is definitely worth the time. The wanting more part is Arcan story - he is just yum!

Artan is used to guarding humans. It is what his type of angel does. He sticks to the background, not revealing himself to his subjects. But from the beginning he knows this one will be different. First he gets shot by something already protecting her. He looks human, but he can tell this is not a human. Not a demon or angel either. Then Artan meets the one he is supposed to protect. She immediately know what he is. How can this be?

He informs her that he has been sent to protect her from demons, that she is on their radar. She has no idea why either Heaven or Hell is interested in her, but she believes him. But as he travels on, he realizes that now he also has to protect the children she is protecting. And what about the other "man"? And why exactly is she being protected? There is obviously more to her than he has been told. Can he defeat the evil coming for her?

This was a great book. My description is very poor, but I didn't want to give anything away. You think it's quite simple; protect the woman and defeat bad guy. But there's so much more. You think you're getting to the end, then look down and realize you're only halfway thru the book. There's action, there's hot and heavy sex (nope, not giving it away), there's conflict between good and evil. But maybe evil isn't really evil and not all in heaven are good. I quite enjoyed this story and is a promising start of a series.

This is a great beginning to this series! I have always been interested in myth and the supernatural, so I love to read books that develop that into their storyline. This was no exception.

The pace of the book is even and utilizes the multiple points well without being unbalanced. I never felt like I was waiting to read what the other characters were doing and adding to the story. I loved the relationship between Khris and Liz. Their love feels real and earned through their struggles in rescuing gifted children. His personal battles and her enduring strength make them a perfect match for each other.

The structure of Heaven and Hades was surprisingly bureaucratic. Artan is the ideal Angel and serves Heaven faithfully. He makes me want to meet angels in real life. The human components in myth lend a sense of grounding to otherwise impossible ideas to reconcile.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and cannot wait to read the next in the series.

Angelic Outcast is a wonderfully written love story. Liz and Khris are two people who are rescuing children who have special abilities similar to what Liz has, and gives them a chance to be something other than being odd and possibly shunned and bullied by others. Artan, an angel who is assigned to protect Liz by order of Michael, The Arc Angel, helps Khris to fight off a demon that has been sent to acquire or kill Liz.

It is a wonderful read. I couldn't put my kindle down. It was well written, I did connect to the characters, seemed like I was with them in the jungle, as they were trying to get the children to the safe house. I cannot wait for the next installment!!!! Give it a try you wont be disappointed if you love paranormal romance!!

* I was provided with an ARC in exchange for an honest review*
This book is a definite recommendation for all those who love angels but with a twist! I definitely had my adrenaline pumping through out the book. The story is about an angel who is sent on earth to protect humans. I found Artan to be one perfect specie. The flow of the book is smooth and it definitely is one enjoyable ride . I fell in love with the book and the author too and would definitely love to read more by her! This book gives you hope, tells you that good triumphs over evil and friendship if strong enough can help you through thick and thin.
Five freaking glowing stars does not do this book justice.

Another world I enjoyed

This book was a good time. An adventurous world with love, passion, angels and demons. A world where one woman can see humans, angels, and things for their true selves. I loved the story.
It did take me a little to really get into it, but once I did I am so glad that I did. I have read similarly themed books, but none quite like this. It is the first of Ms. Jessie Wrights books I have read but it will not be the last.
I look forward to the rest of the series.

I am going to start off by saying I was a little hesitant to read this book at first. While the story line sounded extremely interesting, the thought of reading about Angels kind of put me off as the previous Angel books I have read have been nothing but romance. This one, was completely different!

Starting out a little slower than I'm use to, it actually took me a little while to get into it. But once I did, I was not disappointed in the slightest.

Once the action started, it was pretty much non-stop throughout the rest of the book and it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. Took the story of Angels to a completely different level and I loved it.

The one complaint I would have about the story was that the relationship didn't have anymore build to it. It was like, one minute everything was completely platonic and then the next, BAM, sex. But I guess in a way it makes sense as they had been around each other for years.

There were a few typos that I found, but it was few and far between and didn't affect the story in the slightest, just needed to be mentioned. But other than that, I loved it!

I enjoyed this story about the supernatural with a different spin of mythology. I loved the heroine who makes it her mission to protect children with special gifts. Fans of heavenly or fallen angels, trolls and demons this is a wonderful tale of action and adventure with a super twist. There are multiple characters point of views, which I found rare and mysterious.

Heavenly Angels, Fallen Angels, Demon, trolls and more oh my. This is who you will meet when you pick up this book.

Liz and Khris work hard to save children that are shunned because they have a gift. It is a rewarding but dangerous job. Liz knows that Khris struggles with his gift but Liz keeps him calm and he keeps it under control. When Artan is sent to protect Liz he doesn't know what he is up against until he comes to earth. All three of them are in a fight for their life.

This story will pull you in. It has non stop action but also two people who discover a deep love for each other. I loved all of the mythical creatures that were in this story. You see some bad and some good. Each character adds so much depth to the story. If you love paranormal and mythical then this is a great read.

A little bit of everything!

You won't be disappointed with this read, the novel reminds me of myself; a little bit of everything from steamy, love scenes to a deep respect for a God that knows all and everything in between. The only thing missing in this tale is Artan's love interest. He has new powers, why not a lover too, Jessie?
