4 Smut Scale Stars
This was such a cute little smut read and I really enjoyed it.
Not only that, but dare I say, I think AR's writing is becoming a bit more sophisticated and their editing is much improved as well.
That said, I could care less about either of those things.
I read AR because their books always deliver exactly what they promise:
Deliciously possessive safe smut at super reasonable reasonable price points.
I am rarely disappointed and will continue to read AR for as long as they publish.

TWO STORIES IN THIS ONE SO TWO REVIEWS!
FIRST BOOK I'm giving it 2 stars.
And if you know anything about me or my reviews, you know that AR is an auto buy for me and I've rarely given her books less than 3 stars (except the innocent series, but that's a different story). Therefore, what could have happened for me to give this just 2 stars?
That's simple, Eli and Maggie story was LAME AND BORING!

For me, It felt like the author was making up drama to fill in the chapters because the conflict was pointless. The teacher bullshit, the superintendent visit, the going to classes and the high school drama!
Ahhhh sooo boring!
When did I enter high school again?
This story was too young adult for me.
Seriously, I hated high school the first time, this visit was no different.
The whole set up was just not working for me!
Also, the characters were not working for me. The hero Eli leaves the heroine after he gives her her first official kiss.
No conversation, he just got up and left her!!
Really?
And for the lame ass reason that he was going to touch her if he stayed.. who is buying this!?
Not me!
He thinks: Leaving Maggie’s house was the hardest thing I’d ever had to do. But I knew it was for the right reason. It was the only way I could stay away from her.
And he think: I will go to her and beg her to forgive me for leaving. I will beg her to take me, faults and all.
So in his mind, all he has to do is come back a year later and say sorry and all is forgiven!
The sad reality is that he was right!
One line "I'm sorry, I love you" and she was all over him telling him that she was on the pill and they can have sex...
Seriously!?
This, for me, was the defining moment that had me realizing that I had entered into the young adult mindset.
And the fact that I'm no longer a young adult...well I didn't appreciate being in this situation.
Honestly, here I'm not a child!
The whole story was failing for me. However, the icing on the cake was when the hero tells her
“If you’ve been with someone, I don’t care, sunshine,”
"Okay, I care. I fucking care a lot, but I’m not mad at you. I’m mad at myself. I should’ve done more than just leave that note, but I was scared if I talked to you in person I wouldn’t do the right thing.”
Truthfully, I desperately want to know "On What planet is doing the right thing mean you run away and become a coward?"
Cause it sure isn't planet earth buddy!
Here, we have these things called mouths and we do this strange thing call talking.
Maybe you want to GROW THE F*CK UP AND TALK IT OUT LIKE AN ADULT!
You are supposed to be 25 and not 17 like the heroine!
Okay I could go on and on all day but I'm not getting any younger here and there is some good news too.
The surprise show stealing story of Alice and Major or Thomas (aka Maggie's dad).
BOOK TWO I'm giving it 5 full stars!
These two are smoking hot and yes they have issues but they also act their age and honestly they had a more intense relationship. Everything they shared was awesome!!!
IMO, this is the story that should have been developed into the main story and not the other way around.
I WANTED MORE OF THEM!
THEY WERE AMAZING!
And Major was so alpha. He wasn't going to let his girl go for anything.
He thinks
The fear of losing Alice is far greater than the fear of something happening to me. I don’t know what I’d do without her. I will find her and drag her little ass back home, remind her where she belongs.
Then he tells her
“I’ve never asked a woman to marry me. Never loved anyone but you in that way. I’ve never even been in love or told a woman I loved her. I’ve been saving all of it for you because it’s yours. All of it. Always has been and always will be."
Seriously, this guy was HOT!
I wanted A Major just like him!!!
For me, this was the power couple of this book and I'm glad that their story was included at the end. Without it, I fear my review here would have been even uglier, just saying!
In conclusion, I'm glad I read the book and I will admit that I will now have to put AR books on a case by case basis again.
I don't regret reading it but I'm not keeping it nor would I recommend it to anyone but those who ADORE AR work and think everything they write is amazing and awesome.
Although, to be fair this story was very well written I just wished the characters were more enjoyable. Except for Alice and Major.

3.5 Sunshine and Cupcake Stars
I can say without a doubt this was one of my favourite AR reads to date. It was not insta love/lust/sex in this one it was a much more realistic read.
It was actually the most 'normal' story I have read from AR UNTIL we got to the sex (which was pretty far in *wink*). Then it was back to the OTT AR we are used to which was not bad as that is what I obviously picked this book up for.
The main story of Eli a marine vet and Maggie a 16 year old high school student (at the beginning) is the story I really enjoyed. I did like that there was a spin off side story throughout of Alice and Major but I thought their little book at the end for me was just rambling OTT inner dialogue, until everyone come together at the end to give a joint ending.
If you like AR and want to read something a little different from her give this ago, I hope you enjoy it like I did especially Eli he is yummy and sweet.

Ugh this book. When I read romance—especially short and steamy ones like this—I never take it too literally but something about this story just didn’t mesh well with me.
It follows Maggie Drummond who in the beginning of this story is only sixteen and Eli Strong, who is nine years older than her and twenty-five. The second he meets the very underage teenager, he immediately feels a kind of attraction and desperately tries to ignore his feelings.
Age-gap/may-december romance stories are usually a favourite of mine but the fact that for over half the book Maggie was underage just left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Combined with that fact that Eli literally stalked Maggie to and from school when he moved out of their family house is just plain disturbing.
I think if you took the romance out of this story and just looked at the plot, most people would find it disturbing.
A twenty-five year old man moved in with his boss/friend and became obsessed with his underage daughter. He first kissed her when she was only seventeen. He stalked her to and from school. Had multiple sexual fantasies about her. Eluded that he watched her sleep while he was living in the same house as her, without her knowledge or consent. Had sex with her on her eighteenth birthday while her dad was missing and she was emotionally vulnerable, not to mention he was also her legal guardian at that time.
It was just a little too much for me, and to add to the creep factor that there was also another weird age-gap romance story running along this novel about Maggie’s father and her best friend, just made it even more uncomfortable.
The drama was sub-par at best and we all know that I’m all about that drama-lama. The ‘drama’ (if you can even call it that since it had zero effect on anything in the story) was so unrealistic and pathetic that I could barely deal.
The only thing I enjoyed about this novel was the epilogue, it was six years later and I was a lot more comfortable with the dynamic, which made me add a half star onto what would have been a one star book for me. I think if the characters had met just one year later, with Maggie almost eighteen, it wouldn’t have had such a creeper factor. It isn’t the age difference that I have a problem with as much as the fact that Maggie is legally a CHILD for the majority of this book.

3.5* match made in heaven STARS!!
Another new story from Alexa Riley. Yay! I was surprised when I received the ARC with so many pages. I thought this was a full-length book? But this one was better than their previous work. Let's see...
Eli Strong discharged from his military service and send to recovery. With the help from Major Drummond, he gained a family he never had. Eli never thought to fall in love with a almost-seventeen girl, Maggie. She's his biggest temptation yet he always take care of her. Maggie believe Eli is the one for her. Maggie decided to have him more than like a big brother. She started to love him.
Yum! I enjoyed their chemistry since the first time. Eli and Maggie really attracted to each other. I also loved their banter. It was sweet and adorable. I understand how Eli struggled around Maggie because of her young age. Maggie appears to be a bit mature than other girls. She isn't legal yet and it makes her like a forbidden fruit. Then, Eli decided to disappear. He gave her time and for himself.
One year later, Eli came to Maggie with bad news. Her father disappeared. Eli didn't waste time to redeem himself and finally they're really together. The story has similar plot to Shielding Lily but still okay. There were several problems in their love journey, but they're still strong. Such a perfect couple. Their togetherness was sexy yet sweet but it didn't fit my style.
Oh, there is another story. Maggie's friend, Alice lost everything. Her family just didn't care and she started to live with Maggie's until the shit hit the fan. BAM! The best world-class plot twist ever. I have my own theory and it proved. Damn.. Alice's story was dirty and twisted. I hardly feel the chemistry but somehow I was convinced with the over-steamy sex. Overall, nicely written and great story. A whole package with sweet cherry on top.

I always had a problem with sharing, and the things I owned I protected fiercely. But Maggie seems so innocent that I don’t have the fear that she’ll take something from me. In fact, I feel as if I want to give her pieces of me.

It drives me crazy thinking about him belonging to another woman. He’s mine. I knew it from the first few hours of knowing him, and I’m sure if I told anyone what I’m feeling, they’d say I was crazy. But I don’t care.

Tasting her sweetness and feeling her soft body melt against mine was too much. I wanted it all, and more. I wanted to drink her soul into mine and bind our bodies together for all eternity.
One year later, Eli came to Maggie with bad news. Her father disappeared. Eli didn't waste time to redeem himself and finally they're really together. The story has similar plot to Shielding Lily but still okay. There were several problems in their love journey, but they're still strong. Such a perfect couple. Their togetherness was sexy yet sweet but it didn't fit my style.
I take her lips in another kiss, and she holds on to me fiercely. I can feel her love pour through me, and it’s the sweetest, most powerful thing I’ve ever felt. Her body starts to move on top of my lap, and my aching cock begs for more.
Oh, there is another story. Maggie's friend, Alice lost everything. Her family just didn't care and she started to live with Maggie's until the shit hit the fan. BAM! Not my favourite
While I'm a huge fan of Alexa Riley this one just didn't really work for me, I'm not sure why but I never connected to any of the characters and the story just didn't work for me.
Most people loved this I know and I'm firmly in the minority but it happens every so often and it's straight onto 'His Princess' for me now.

The girls go back to the strength of their writing with this little treat, in that we are given an alpha male, an inexperienced female, lots of over-protectiveness, a touch of drama, and an overdose of insta-goodness. Although the 'insta' happens pretty much straight away, the down and dirty 'goodness' happens about twelve months on...
"I'm more beast than beauty."
Eli is an injured and scarred Marine, given a room to recuperate in his Major's home, little does he realize that it is the Major's daughter Maggie, who will have the strongest effect on his recovery, not to mention his heart, but Maggie is only seventeen to his twenty-five, and an age difference like that it not something looked upon favorably by others.
This is something that Eli realizes could cause them problems, so being a gent through and through, he removes himself from the situation, and therefore temptation.
"This is a good moment for us... We've had enough crying. Smile for me. Light us up."
Their reconnection is not without it's obstacles, but the girls didn't drag that part of the drama out which I always like, and you are also given the added bonus in that this book is a twofer, in that Maggie's dad, Thomas gets his own story told as well in a second little novella after their story is told.
As you would expect this is a story that does what it says on the tin, the ladies have perfected their recipe for romance now and Her Touch offers up everything you would expect from an Alexa Riley book.

Oh my what a sweet double surprise. Every time I think they can't give me more shivers, tingles or happy satisfied sighs , this duo proves me so wrong. I have to say .. without spoiling the surprise ..my favorite hero in this one was the second one.

A bit longer than other AR stories. A wounded Marine staying with the man who helped him find his place in the world, falling for the daughter. She's a bit too young because otherwise where would be the drama, but it was still sweet in its own way. And hot. The only thing I didn't like were the implications about Major and Alice so I didn't read the bonus at the end (20 years of age difference or more even are just too much, even for me).

This was a little different for an AR novel. It had a heap more story and sweetness than I normally expect. Not that the story is normally lacking or the sweetness missing just that it's normally a lot more boy sees girl, boy decides he owns girl, boy sets out to knock girl up and keep her chained to the bed forever in a sex coma, boy and girl live happily ever after. But in this one there was almost normalness in the relationship progression and although it was different it worked for me and I loved the little novella at the end with the other story that was woven through this one it just totally capped it off to perfection.

I wasnt sure what to expect with this story because of some of the reviews I had read but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.
Book 1 - 4 stars
Definitely different than what we have come to expect from AR.
Eli and Maggie are in a difficult spot.
Eli was initially by no means that classic AR alpha hero. The tendency was there, you could see it. He was so in love with Maggie BUT he was 25 and she was 17. He knew he had to remove himself from temptation. The issue was the execution of leaving. After a kiss on her 17th birthday, he knew he would never make it until her 18th birthday without doing something that could potentially not only get him in legal trouble (you know, because she was a MINOR) but also cause a rift between him and her father who he respected and thought of as family. Writing a note was a shitty way to proceed.. That being said, I forgave him. She was a MINOR. Some would say leaving (although I have established his execution sucked) and giving her space to be sure a life with him was what she wanted (you know,. because she was a MINOR) was him "man-ing up" doing something that made him (and her) miserable so they could be together long term. It was risky for him because she could have chosen to not forgive him or chose to date others. Now, in true AR fashion, he watched her everyday to and from school to ensure her safety. He also took steps to secure their future. He was also never with anyone else at all after meeting Maggie, even during that year separation.
Was this my favorite story by this duo? No. Did I like it? Yes, very much.

I would have loved more of this couple. Major was OTT alpha just how I like 'em. He swept Alice up like a hurricane. She was a sweet heroine just like Maggie. I loved how supportive they were to each other .

A new book, two stories, four characters, one great author!!!
Alexa Riley gave us something to keep us company and have a great time during this reading.
The first story was about Maggie and Eli, one sweet story with a possessive alpha male and a virgin, trying to keep their hands but failing miserably! And to my surprise I liked for a change that the main characters had some close people around them. I liked the family vibe we got going on...
The second book was about Thomas and Alice! Thomas was a lot older than Alice but that didn't get in their way to create a family like they always wanted to!
I enjoyed it and can't wait for more!

Sigo sin salir de mi asombro, llevaba tanto tiempo leyendo historias de estas autoras que no me decian nada, que me tomo por sorpresa el disfrutar tanto de mis dos ultimas lecturas suyas.
Marriage Material y Her Touch me recordaron lo mucho que solia disfrutar con este duo, es cierto que no son libros inolvidables o complejos, pero cumplen su funcion de entretener y dejarte un buen sabor de boca.
Recomendada especialmente a las fans de estas autoras pero tambien a todos aquellos que disfruten leyendo historias romanticas y picantes.

You wait for something longer and more developed from Alexa Riley? Here it is! And not one, but two stories!
It's a bit of taboo and forbidden love story. One is about the daughter, Maggie, the other is a father's story. Creepy? Maybe. Good? Yes! I went with 5 stars because it's something more from the author and I think it goes in the right direction. Although I also love all the short, bawdy stories, so whatever. But variety is good!
After the accident, Eli Strong was honorably discharged form the Marine. His former commander offered him to move in his home for the duration of therapy. He never had a family, but when Eli met officer's daughter, Maggie, he felt a part of theirs. But soon Maggie triggered in him impropate thoughts that tested his strength. He needs to make some decisions, when unexpected events happen.
It is a well-developed story of two characters, who despite their age difference felt something for each other. It adds a bit of anxiety but when they cross the lines, it's pure sin! As always steamy, dirty and so enchanting.
I really like how it moves on to the second story and composed well together. Curious about sexy father's story? About that you have to read yourself.

Hot dam this was pretty good! I've enjoyed AR books some more than others but this was great.
"Her touch" felt the same and a bit different at the same time of what I read from AR. I think it felt different because the story was longer and there for more developed. Of course there's always miss Riley's signature style with the instant love between the characters and the OTT possessiveness of the H, which I enjoyed. There was an age gap between them that cause some drama and miss communication but once they talked it out they were able to move forward.
This book had a bonus novella which was the story of the h father, Thomas and her best friend Alice. This story was happening at the same time as "her touch". It was sweet and sexy just wished it could of been longer. I would of love to see how their love started, can't complaint much since it did have two fantastic epilogues. ❤

Her Touch is the closest you could get to a slow-burning romance from Alexa Riley and it was adorably sexy. If you love romance with an age gap of around ten years between the lovers, then you should check this out.
Maggie Drummond, daughter of a military officer, was sixteen when she and her father received the twenty-five-year-old Eli Strong into their home for him to recover from his injuries from one of his missions. All her life, Maggie was accustomed to having no one else but her dad. They’ve been moving to places due to the nature of his job and she didn’t know that something was missing in her until she met Eli and her new friend, and senior, Alice.
First, romance aside, I adored this book because of how close Maggie was to her dad and how they were both very welcoming to other people who needed a home. Eli didn’t know what it’s like to have a real family, and Alice, while growing up with her parents, was neglected and unloved.
On the romance, Maggie and Eli started as friends and they eventually got closer like siblings. I was fond of how Eli acted as an older brother to her. Also, for the first time, I don’t think this AR book is ridiculous at all. There was no rush in doing the deed. There was a good amount of conflict and twist to the narrative that made it worth reading.
PART II
I enjoyed it. Although I don’t highly recommend it, I could say that this is a must-have Alexa Riley book.

So I am sooooo happy with these two gems!
Firstly- they were full length Alexa Riley novels
Secondly- insta love happened but there was a story! There was angst! There was a couple in love! There were heart stopping moments!
Thirdly- bonus book!!!!! And this time about a new couple!
I really adored Eli and Maggie- so many feels for them- but what made me happy was Thomas and Alice- and I really wished their story was longer. The second book stole my heart!!
After the disappointment with the last daddy pseudoname book- this has thoroughly cleansed by AR palette and made me smile.
Some good old writing and sweet stories here. May- December romances always do it for me.

Maggie is about to turn 17 years old when she meets her soul mate. He is the sort of guy girls dream about. He is handsome, rugged and has a bit of that bad boy vibe going on. He is well built but in a way that only makes Maggie feel like he would protect her and keep her safe. He is also 26 years old and currently living in her family home as a guest.
Eli joined the marines after spending years in the foster system. Being in the military gave him a place to belong, a daily routine and much needed discipline. This was how he met Major, Maggie's father. When Eli is injured and honorably discharged from service, Major offers him a temporary place to stay in his home.
Eli is completely taken by Maggie, the forbidden fruit. She is sweet, beautiful and very innocent. They develop a friendship that begins to mean more to them than it should, Eli knows he has to resist her until she is at least 18 years old. The fact that he respects her father so much is also at the front of his mind when it comes to thought of Maggie. His discipline skills come in handy when he decides to distance himself from her so he can keep control on his feelings and desires.
Fate has other plans and soon they find themselves in close proximity with each other. Maggie needs Eli now, more than she ever has and he is finding it hard to put any distance between them.
"He’s my other half. This has to be what soulmates are all about. This has to be what love is."
This was an easy AR coming of age story that I inhaled in one sitting, I drifted away into my happy place of virginal insta-love with an HEA. And then....... there was another bonus story about two secondary characters! I was not expecting that bonus!

Just gotta say I loved the second story featuring Alice and Thomas - I'm giving this 5 stars because of that story alone. I wish it was the main story and we could see more details on how they first met and everything... but alas we just got a small taste.

Virgin heroine who was dripping honey (isn't it sticky?!) and sweet hero with aching c*ck.
What I liked: the hero was only slightly older than the heroine: 18 vs 26. And he wasn't over the top cavermanish.
Apart from that it was standard AR but with more plot and longer story.
Second book had older hero, but as long as everyone was MSGed (mutual sexual gratificated) I guess it was ok?

Who needs romantic dinner?
I can buy flowers and sweets tomorrow by myself, can't I?
Mmh, I need an "excuse", pronto!!!

This is the first full book written by AR that I have read and I was pleasantly surprised. I have noticed a repetition of praise on my GR feed for AR, so I am finally jumping on the bandwagon.
Aside from a few grammatical errors and lack of conflict, I really enjoyed the story. I am kind of a sucker for anything military, the theme just tugs at the heartstrings I rarely acknowledge. Sometimes it is important to remind yourself that you have a heart after all. Even the everyday-raging-bitches.
We have the ultimate kind of forbidden love story here. You know, the kind where the heroine is 16 and the hero is 25.
Eli (freaaaking awesome name btw) is the hero. He is discharged honorably due to an injury he sustained when a mission went awry. He enlisted at the age of 18 after leaving the system and having nowhere else to go. Now being discharged and having no actual family, he is offered a place to stay by "Major" and his daughter, Maggie.
Maggie is raised by her single dad, Thomas. She moves around a lot and has never had the chance to make friends. She doesn't mind nor complain about it and is thankful for her dad and how hard he works. She is beautiful and brilliant and focuses on her schooling rather than a social life.
The story starts when Eli moves in and it is pretty much instalove. It is written in both Maggie and Eli's perspectives, so you get a good dose of all them feeling confessions. Unfortunately, you're reminded that she is only 16 even though she exclaims multiple times that her birthday is coming up and seventeen is that much closer to making this all appropriate and legal. Anyway, Eli is all like I can't live here and I need to disappear because I can't be near her and not stick my dick in her because mine.
Maggie makes a new friend named Alice around the same time Eli moves in. Alice, an 18-year-old senior who goes to the same HS as Maggie, has had a rough life - hitting the jackpot with an alcoholic mother who has a great taste in men with a strong arm. Anyway, Maggie and Alice have the friendship that makes you reevaluate all of your friends. She is there to witness Maggie secretly fall in love and then when her heart breaks when Eli leaves. And when Eli leaves, Alice moves in.
BAM. 11 months later...
Maggie is almost 18. Thomas is on a mission. Alice is acting unusual. Eli is ready to make Maggie officially his (finally).
And then some shit happens, even though in my humble opinion, the shit should have been bigger, maybe pushed a little bit further.
Obviously it is a guaranteed happily ever after. But something I didn't expect was an entire second love story. I loved every bit of it though. And you know those scenes were faaaaaan-freaking-tastic (for both couples).
On a completely different note, I can never watch enough of Zac Efron's behind. Read the book though, for sure.
