Dirty Players #2

A Player for a Princess

Cal

She ran.
She lied to me. She almost killed my brother.
She stole her way into my heart… and then she ran.
Zelda Wilder’s got another thing coming if she thinks I won’t go after her.
She is mine, and I will bring her back… to justice, and to my bed.

Zelda

It took everything I had to walk away, but staying put us all in danger.
I’m a player, a fighter, a survivor. I know when it’s time to go.
I’ve never trusted a man to protect us… but I trusted him.
Now I can never go back—it’s far too dangerous. I have to keep running; I have to stay hidden.
I should have known the “playboy prince” wouldn’t go down without a fight.
I should have known Cal would find me.
I should have known you can’t play a player.

(PLAYER is a thrilling action-adventure romance full of twists and turns and smokin’ hot sexytimes. It’s Book 2 of the “Dirty Players” series, formerly titled A PLAYER FOR A PRINCESS. No cheating. No cliffhanger. From the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, the game continues…)

★★★★! A Player for a princess, book 2 of 4. Modern day rags-to-riches as two con artist orphans meet two charming princes!

“I’m tired of arguing. Let’s get naked.”

Books in Dirty Players series should be read in order:
Book 0.5: Dirty Players - FREE! Incl. in book 1.
Book 1: The Prince & The Player
Book 2: A Player for a Princess

Book 4: Dirty Thief

In The Prince & The Player, book 1 two con artist orphan sisters, Zelda Wilder, Zee, and Ava Wilder aka Ava-bug. were blackmailed to travel to a faraway kingdom, Monagasco to help a scheming royal uncle become king.

But instead the sisters were swept off their feet by crown heir Rowan Westringham Tate, Ro and his brother, playboy MacCallum Lockwood Tate, Cal aka California. In the roller-coaster that followed romances brew while feelings got confused.

A Player for a Princess, book 2 opens up after book 1’s shocking and violent ending. Much more is in store for these four love birds, but first they must charm a queen, tackle villains and survive assassination attempts. All while still appearing royal…

A Player for a Prince is Zelda and Cal’s story. In book one, I was enamored by MacCallum Lockwood Tate and was so happy to get his POV in this book. The ending of book one was straight up crazy. All kinds of stuff went down and it forced Zelda to go on the run. She’s trusting the prince to take care of her sister, and she’s trying to stay away from anyone who could cause harm to them.
I might not be Cinderella, but I am a survivor.

Zee is doing what she feels is best. She’s trying to keep the people she loves safe. But Cal isn’t having it. He needs Zelda safe and with him. He will do whatever he must to find her. And find her he does. He finds her so early on in the book, I was curious what else was going to happen in the story… but there was no need for me to be concerned. The rest of the book was action packed. You see, Zee knows some shady people and she gets recaptured. It’s a mess. I was nervous waiting to see what would happen…

As you can imagine, Cal is worried sick. He goes back to Monagasco to get some reinforcements in operation: Find Zee. This story was all kinds of exciting. It was also uber romantic. I love these Princes’! The author describes it as ‘Cinderella meets Ocean’s Eleven’ and she couldn’t be more accurate in her description.

I know this is a duet, and the last book in this series, but I hope that the author continues it. The book concluded nicely, but I would love to see more about Rowan and Ava (even though Zelda and Cal are my favorite couple, I’m still interested to see whats going on with them) and honestly, I’d LOVE a book with Logan. He’s intrigued me.

If you’re looking for a fast paced series that has loads of action and lots of love, the ‘Dirty Players Duet’ is right up your alley!

A sexy, sizzling fast paced romance that was high with adrenaline, suspense, action and passion!!! In true Tia Louise fashion, she didn’t hold back as she delivers one sexy literary tale of what I like to call Cinderella meets Ocean’s Eleven/The Italian Job in the final conclusion of A Player for a Princess.

#PlayerPrincess

In this final conclusion of the Dirty Player’s Duet, Tia takes readers on a sexy and gritty journey filled with calculating motives and of course a playboy prince getting his girl. Right off the opening pages, readers are reunited with Zelda and Cal. Tia didn’t waste anytime as she went full throttle to reunite these two lovebirds. Cal made it known to Zelda that she belongs to him and that he needs to bring her home back to his sister. As Zelda struggles with her feelings, she knows that she can’t go back with Cal because of the danger that is associated with her. Will Cal have to rescue his girl and show her that the only place she belongs is home with him and that there was no con involved when it came to their love?

photo a6c5af82a45f55d555922c0e3b9cfd_zps4txd6ryn.gif “Our eyes meet, and I have no idea what he sees now when he looks at me. I don’t know if the love he felt for me has been snuffed out by the truth of who I am. I don’t know what he’ll do next now that he’s caught me. I only know as much as I don’t deserve him, he’s my prince. I gave my heart to him, and no matter how far I run, I’ll never stop wanting him.”

#playerPrincess2.1

Ahhh...I seriously LOVE LOVE this final conclusion of this duet. My love for Cal and Zelda is endless. Hands down they are my favorite couple. Everything about them screams passion. Their love was so intense, palpable, and moving that readers like myself could feel the gravitational pull this couple had for each other. Tia Louise did an amazing job with A Player for a Princess. This book had duplicity. It had mystery. It had romance. It had sex. It had passion. It had suspense. And most importantly, this book had that emotional punch to leave you breathless.

photo a6c5af82a45f55d555922c0e3b9cfd_zps4txd6ryn.gif “Her confession hits me harder than I expected. It’s a mini-explosion in my chest, and that fucking wall is down. Me, the “playboy prince,” slayed by this hustler, this grifter… This woman I love.”

The beauty of this book is that Tia Louise had kept readers guessing. There were unexpected surprises along the way that kept you intrigued and excited as you await what will unfold. So if you are looking for a story that was flawlessly executed and was brimming with passion, excitement, secrets, and intensity then I highly recommend you to get dirty with Tia Louise’s players because the only gamble and risk you will take is missing out on this fantastic romantic suspense duet.

We were left in suspense at the end of The Prince & The Player, not knowing if Zelda was okay or if she was going to be a pawn in someone's cruel, cruel game. Well, this book picks up where we left off, and the action is right there from the beginning! Not only that, but the twists and turns knocked the air out of me... Here I thought it was going to take a bit for them to build up, but no, I. Was. Wrong!!

MacCallum "Cal" Lockwood has loved Zelda from the start, and even though theirs was a bumpy road, all he wants to do now is make sure that she knows how he feels about her. When everything goes crazy, Cal is willing to do anything for Zelda. He's willing to go to the ends of the earth for her, and I honestly thought he was going to have to.

This was an exciting, dramatic, gritty romance you have given us, Tia Louise. When I read certain scenes, I thought to myself, WTF?!?! There's no way to be able to come back from that, and yet… Well, I won't spoil it!

I desperately was needing Zelda and Cal to get their HEA, but I honestly just could not see that in their future. Like I said, this was a much more action-packed story, yet it answered many questions that I was left pondering at the end of book one. I loved seeing what's going on with Rowan and Ava, and the new characters who were introduced; I loved how they participated in Cal and Zelda's story, and some knocked me off my feet when the truth was revealed about them!

Hang on to something strong because this is going to be an exhilarating ride that will give you whiplash, not knowing if you'll survive. And THANK YOU, Ms. Louise, for the epilogue! <3 ~ Kara, 5 Exhilarating stars

Fantastic world of badass Cinderella. Beautiful love story and suspenseful royal family drama. It's all the way Zelda and Cal story, and guess what! We get another part!

“You get a player for a princess”
“I’m the luckiest guy I know.”

About the plot: The first part ends with a partial HEA for one sister and the cliff to the other. It's Zelda Wilder, who still needs to fight for her happy ending with MacCallum. She is on the run and must looking over her shoulder, because dangerous people are looking for her. Cal decides to go after her and help her. The last contact they had was from the Tortola island. He finds her, but after a few beautiful moments, the problems and tragedies begin again with double force.

“I never saw you coming. Even if I had, I never could have been prepared for you. Not in a million years.”

Final thoughts: Although the first part ended with a bang, the action begins quite slowly and surprisingly pleasant. We do not have to wait long for a romantic scenes between two lovers. They find each other and spend together some wonderful moments on the beautiful island. But good things must come to an end, and then the action picks up speed, it gets dangerous and even frightening. Unexpected action makes that things get more emotional. You almost have to wait until the very end to difficulties resolved in favor of the heroes.

At the beginning I missed Ava and Rowan pov, which we had in previous book. I didn't think that without it, is impossible to finish the story. But really, there was not space for that. A nice surprise was the information at the end, that there will be another part. It doesn't end with the cliff, but there are some unfinished business. I definitely can't wait to read more about Ava and Rowan. And from this story was born a new hero, sexy bodyguard Logan, whom you also will want to know closer at the end.

Finally, I think it was a very original story. It took a very unexpected turn and I liked the characters so much that I read with bated breath to the very end. I think it is good for a recommendation for those who want to read a little different kind of romance with more suspenseful thread.

“I’m not the princess in this story. I’m no Cinderella. The good news is, it doesn’t matter.”

Three things to know about it:
1. It's not standalone. To get to know well the story and understand the action you need to read The Prince & The Player.
2. It is a suspenseful fairytale, with the royal wedding and tight action. A few romantic and steaming scenes in beautiful surroundings, but also some emotional events, even abuse.
3. There is no cliffhanger, but there will be another part of this series.

4* dirty cinderella STARS!!

Review @ Midnight Romance

The continuation of The Prince & The Player, Zelda "Zee" Wilder left her younger sister, Ava in the hands of Monagasco's future king, Rowan. Zee also sacrificed her love for MacCallum "Cal" Lockwood Tate, the playboy younger prince. Now, she's on the run but not for long.
I only know as much as I don’t deserve him, he’s my prince. I gave my heart to him, and no matter how far I run, I’ll never stop wanting him.

Rowan managed to control Monagasco after the attempted of his assassination, Cal and the elite guards determined to bring her back for safety. Their enemy hired a sadistic hit-man and Cal must found Zee before he did. The suspense is back! Cal was angry and confused with Zee's web of lies but he finally understand his love for her. Their reunion was intimately romantic with a lot of makeup sex. Zee admitted he's in love with Cal since the first time he seduced her.

description
She’s bare in front of me, and a little shiver moves through her. I watch her breath swirling in and out in little pants. She’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen.

The plot was predictable. Zee was caught by the hit-man because her naivety to trust her friend. Money always came first. Zee suffered the torture for a month in unknown island. The suspense is killing me! Zee was smart enough not to endanger herself after she found out something unexpected.

When they got back together again, I was glad Zee isn't traumatic kind of woman. She's really a survivor and strong woman. Cal and the elite guards works really hard. I admired them so much. My only issue was how easily they defeated the enemy. But there's another one on the loose. Maybe for another story?

description

The story told from dual POVs, Zee and Cal. Overall, Dirty Players duet was really enjoyable and great read. Straightforward story for a picky read like me. Not your average cinderalla's story. It was mixed with romance, suspense and action. I really liked their journey. Cal and Zee really match made in heaven. I really wish for Rowan and Ava's story because I couldn't feel the chemistry beside insta-love from the previous book.
I’m not the princess in this story. I’m no Cinderella. The good news is, it doesn’t matter. We’ve both found our happily ever after.

3.75 happily ever after stars

A Playboy Prince and his Grifter. Zelda and Cal didn’t have the best of starts, but he is determined to have one hell of a happily ever after. His biggest obstacle is the woman herself, who has taken it upon herself to do what she thinks is best for the both of them … unfortunately for her she should be more scared of him finding her then the ruthless assassins that decided she’s knows a little too much.

Cal and Zelda are from opposite worlds so they are fighting a battle from all sides, but in the end they must prove once and for all if love can conquer all. Cal is a force to reckon with and he has his hands full with Zelda, at time you wanna just shake sense into her. Lucky for her he is perfect and is completely willing to give her everything she needs.

A game of hearts and espionage, from Prince to paupers, love and lust, this has a little bit of everything to pull you in and give you a truly different tale. A wonderful wrap up to the Dirty Player series!

A Player for A Princess takes a fairy tale romance and puts a unique twist on it. Tia Louise added a lot more suspense in this part of Zee and Cal's story and I really liked how she handled everything. While there was still a heavy dose of romance and sweet times, the intrigue that was throughout most of the story is what had me on the edge of my seat and unable to put this book down.

The story picks up where The Prince and The Player left off and went even further than I thought it would. When the last book ended I had so many theories of what would happen, but I honestly had no clue the author was going to go in the direction that she did. I loved every second of it, though, and it was great how she pushed the limits with this story.

The characters were just as great as I remembered - actually Cal was a little better than I remembered. He was the perfect reformed bad boy that has become a mega sweetie while around Zee. I loved seeing him with her and how he was so far out of his comfort zone because of his feelings, yet that never stopped him from being with her.

As for Zee, this book really showed how tough she was and brought out the kick ass woman I knew she could be. We already knew she was resilient and could face whatever life threw at her without backing down. But what she had to go through in this book really made that evident and made me respect her much more than I already did.

Overall, if you're looking for a fun, flirty story with a hint of suspense and intrigue than this is the series for you. The books definitely need to be read in order but I think both of the books will be loved equally.

5 No Panties Stars!

From the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, the game continues…

PLEASE NOTE This is not a standalone! Do not dive into the waters of A Player For a Princess as this picks up at the heart pounding cliffhanger! I admit to not being sure what to expect with this read as I was in complete awe with book 1 and the double romance that took place in a realm of royalty and betrayal. Just 2 chapters into this read I was blow away by the progression of the tale!

I start by acknowledging Zelda Wilder who has intrigued me from the first time I met her character. With her street smart survival skills and steel strong familial loyalty she would do anything for her baby sister Ava to have a better life. In the midst of the biggest con of her life, she was unable to seal the deal as she lost focus on her target and found herself tied to MacCallum Lockwood Tate! An Action packed story ensued but in the end, the con came to light and Zelda would do what she has always done…RUN!

 photo PhotoGrid_1470932091495_zpsrkjwm36v.jpg

I know with 100% certainty that Tia Louise will bring the heat…she is the Queen of Romance after all, but I was so impressed with the progression of the tale and the writing that I experienced. This story has and air of “suspense” at all times. The characters and the relationships are well established allowing the tension and the mystique to take over. With murder, blackmail, and torture the elements here are darker and grittier. The rush to find Zelda is paramount but the need to protect the royal family and country contrastingly forefront. Will Cal be able to follow the royal order for the good of the country? Will Zelda survive long enough to see her life’s purpose thrive?

 photo 614bf9ca-9f51-4e9f-96b8-ec7305e60b53_zpsneu7ct18.jpg

What a completely awesome story! Cal and Zee are perfectly imperfect. Cal, second in line…the bad boy prince never shies away from a challenge. With his alpha bravado and sexy swagger, there is little he cannot get but not without disapproval of the judging public. He has never wanted anything more than the sass and the sexy challenge that Zee Wilder has thrown at him. Connecting to her intimately, mind and body, has set him in a tailspin. Trying to decipher the con at hand, he finds more than he was prepared for. As for Zee, what a truly fabulous heroine. She is smart and ruthless when on target yet she holds her loved ones close and has the purest of hearts. A lifelong runner, she is always unsettled and unwilling to accept that she could belong… she is “small time.” What better than pairing a prince with a sordid past and player with a con of a present?

 photo PhotoGrid_1470932729960_zpslusdxkjm.jpg

Explosive and Passionate. That is the best way I can describe a Player For a Princess. The story is fast-paced and challenge ridden from start to finish. Cal and Zee are beautiful and sexy with an intense passionate romance. I loved that in the midst of a story with a hundred thing going on, this author never let them fade. The romance was always present even when apart. Kudos to Tia Louise for delivering another fabulous read! A Player For a Princess may not be the end for these princes and their princesses but it was definitely a 5 star step into more for the Tate Royalty!!!

I enjoyed book one of the Dirty Players series. I loved getting to know the characters. I wasn't sure how much I would like this story concentrating primarily on Zelda and Cal...I couldn't have predicted what Tia had in store.

A Player for a Princess is sizzling with energy and tension. I couldn't read fast enough as the mystery and suspense unfolded. Cal and Zelda's connection is steaming hot and through every test it grew stronger. This second book was much more than I bargained for and I LOVED every minute.

If you haven't read The Prince and the Player, do it now and then don't stop reading until you've finished A Player for a Princess...you won't be sorry! 5 AMAZING beautiful intriguing and even a tad dark (which I love) stars!

A heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Tia Louise for gifting me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Love the series and its characters. I'm so invested, completely in, she's amazing writer to pay attention to.

Before a happily ever after can take place, Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty all had to face their evil villains. Phenomenal writer Tia Louise weaves heart stopping drama in this action packed royal nightmare. Zelda Wilder is in a high stakes game where the loser could wind up dead and bring a nation to its knees.

When danger escalates & attempts are made on their lives, Zelda decides to flee the country. She wants to protect her sister & she decides to disappear to stay off the radar of the bad guys. These ruthless assassins would have killed her if she didn't escape, so now she's on the run & left the only man she's ever loved behind.

Cal is devastated Zee left him. All he wants to do is be with her & keep her safe. He goes after her & tracks her down at a casino in St. Croix where he then follows her to Tortola.

Zee has missed Cal terribly. He is her heart & even though she feels she doesn't deserve him, she adores him. She struggles with not feeling like she fits or belongs in his world, but is so deeply in love with him, she can't imagine a life without him by her side.

Just plain enjoyable & entertaining. Whether you are a royal lover or not, you're sure to be enchanted by this dual riveting, suspenseful romance! It's hard to gloss over all the things I adored because everything was so multi-layered. I really loved the characters. They felt so real and I felt like I was right in the middle of everything with them. I road that rollercoaster of emotions from beginning to end and I'm exhausted! But, in a good way. It was frothy, it was smart, it was funny, and it was a great read. The romance that conspires and the fondness that the author provokes for all of the characters are simply amazing. I enjoyed every moment of reading it.

The player has run away?! God save the Prince!

A Player for a Princess is book 2 in a Dirty Players Duet by Tia Louisr .
Book follow the story of the same heroes and should be read strictly in oreder:

0.5 - Dirty Players
1 - The Prince & The Player
2 - A Player for A Princess

The Duet follows the story of brother princes Rowand and MacCallum and con artists-sisters Ava and Zelda . Together they had to fight for their lives and the country that they'll soon be ruling.

The second book of this duet focuses mainly the relationship of Cal and Zelda. After what happened to her sister, Zelda ran away and Cal is nore than determined to bring her back. But Zelda knows too much and a lot of people want to see her dear and even better use as a leverage.

I loved Zelda . Even more than Cal. She is so smart and shrewd. I admired her determination and the love to her sister. She is ready to sacrifice everything just for Ava's sake. I loved and hated her for it because Zelda is beautiful and important as well.

" We're from different worlds, Cal. Worlds that don't mesh - they collide. "

Cal was a definite alpha-male. He knows he wants Zelda and nothing can stop him. For her he is ready to turn the whole world upside out! Lucky Zelda! I was swooning every time he did it.

" I was a royal fuck up. I didn't have a reason to care."

This story is a good combination of spy romance, detective and of course love story. I read and enjoyed every page of it. The hotness of scene was out of this world fantastic. Be prepared to have a sparew set of panties at hand. You'll definitely need them *wink*

All in all this book was awesome and I highly recommend everyone to read it!

Original review on Julalicious Book Paradise

In the sequel of The Prince & The Player, we find Zelda again running away from those who want to hurt her. While trying to outrun the danger, Zelda finds herself in her old habits with Seth though it doesn't feel the same when your life is constantly in danger.

But Zee is still the same outspoken and intelligent girl we first met if only a little more aware of her surroundings and a little bit more paranoid.

You have to love her determination to stay alive and protect the ones she loves. From book one, you can tell that she is a protector especially around her sister and leaving her behind might have been hard, but she did it knowing she was more protected this way. Zee is probably one of my favourite characters in this duology; she has attitude and she isn't afraid to do anything if she knows it's the right thing to do.

I was happy to find her again with Cal too. As the story is more focus on the two of them, we got to see a lot more of them arguing, making up, arguing again and making up. He wants to protect her and she doesn't want him to or more likely, she doesn't want to do what he wants her to do. The two of them try to save her from the criminals wanting her dead, but it's anything but easy to do with people always one step ahead of them and who have allies just about everywhere.

I loved Cal in this book though I already loved him in the first book too. He is like Zee on so many levels that its probably why sometimes, their encounters could be quite passionate. They are both strong headed people and both want things to be done their way.

While Zee and Cal are reunited again, nothing is easy. Forgiveness is hard for him though he loves her so much. He is angry at her, but he wants her so much at the same time. He wants to strangle her while protecting her from every harm. Both of them are are struggling with the situation though neither can't deny the love between them. They may be wrong for each other, but love doesn't really care.

Overall, this was an awesome ending to this duology. It's a quick and entertaining reading all wrapped in with love, lust and drama. These two books will keep you on your

I'm still hoping to get a story about Logan (want to know who he is? Read the book :P) because he deserves something which is why I'm really hoping that Tia will grant me my wish.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO TIA LOUISE & INKSLINGER PR for giving me the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.

Audiobook: Narrator – Natalie Duke & Gary Furlong

Excellent narration! I never struggled with understanding any of the accents and both male and female voices were exceptional. These narrators really added to this story in a way that simply reading it would not. So much depth and emotion contained within! I need more!

This picks up right where book 1 ends for Zelda and Cal. While things took a darker turn towards the end of The Prince & The Player, this time around, things go very dark.

description

Zelda is caught up in something that I never expected. But she’s a strong heroine and despite her fear, she stands her ground when needed to protect those around her.

Cal is caught up in a tsunami of emotions. He is furious at the secrets he’s learned regarding Zelda, but he also wants to throttle her for her past decisions and above it all, he wants to make sure she is safe. He’s a wonderful hero that I liked well enough in book 1 but fell hard for now that I had his own point of view and was able to get a look into his thoughts.

description

This is a wild ride from beginning to end. It’s got a fast pace that kept me listening when I would normally turn it off and the angst level gets pretty heavy. There is a lot of action and drama, as well as smexy times that had me making sure no one could hear what I was listening to. While this appears to end with a happy ever after for this couple, there is still a thread dangling that is threatening all of these characters.

While I really enjoyed The Prince and The Player, I LOVED A Player for a Princess. Tia Louise delivered a book packed with emotion, pain, suspense, love, intrigue, and passion. This book literally had me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for what was to come. I was biting my nails at the suspense this book created in my heart. I was so engaged in A Player for a Princess that I couldn't sit still and I kept crying out, because my feelings were all over the place.

I can't even describe this book in detail. All I can say is that it is crazy and the plot is amazing. The feels this book brings out of the readers is real and painful. I am amazed at the amazing Tia Louise for creating such a powerful and impactful book. By the end of this book I was questioning so many things.

Zee is the strongest in this book. She is smart and she still plays the game well. Her heart is what will capture you. The ways she cares for people is remarkable. I love that this book brings in new characters, although the circumstances and not good. I still have no words I am just amazed at how this book developed.

As for Cal, I have the best things to say about him. He is just perfection and he doesn't give up. When he loves he really LOVES with everything he has. And although he is mad, rightfully so, his love and compassion still shines through. He loves Zee fiercely and I can't image a better man for her.

A Player for a Princess was full of action, betrayal, healing, and a new beginning. I am so happy to have read these two books. Thank you Tia Louise for giving us these unique books. I can't wait to read more from you!

One of my all time FAVORITES from the amazing Tia Louise! Zee and Cal's journey broke me into a million pieces and carefully put me back together again! The excitement, the passion, the tragedy, the heartbreak, it was just all-encompassing. I was completely and utterly swept off my feet with this beauty of a fairytale.

"I never saw you coming. Even if I had, I never could have been prepared for you. Not in a million years."

I LOVED 'The Prince & The Player', but I FREAKING adored A PLAYER FOR A PRINCESS! It's double the action, double the passion, and double the emotion! It was just an incredible thrill ride...one that I never wanted to get off from. Tia Louise absolutely KILLED it in her second book of the Dirty Players series. I loved all of the characters in the first book, but I fell in love all over again with Cal and Zee in this beautiful and emotional follow-up romance.

Cal and Zee fell hard and fast and then all of a sudden Zee vanished. After learning the truth, Cal vowed he would find her and bring her back to her sister. He has his own selfish reasons as well. He wants answers, but most of all he wants to feel Zelda's lips on his again. He wants to know if everything they felt for each other was a con. After chasing her down and finally besting her, the gloves come off and it's ON! He wants answers...she can't give them to him, but she can damn sure give Cal her body. Let the AMAZING angry sex commence! OMG! HOT my friends...so DAMN HOT!

"Her lust is stronger than her fear. My lust is stronger than my fury."

Cal needs to understand that they are from different worlds, and that they can never be.

Zee needs to understand that she is coming home with him no matter what.

They are at an impasse, but meanwhile, someone is still after Zee, and Cal will protect her no matter what...until he can't and she is out of his grasp once again. Except this time it wasn't of her free will. The clock is ticking to find Zelda. Cal just captured Zee's love...he will not lose her forever. That is NOT even an option.

THIS BOOK!!! OMG! My heart beat faster with every single turn of the page! I laughed. I cried. I cried even more. I wasn't expecting this to hit me with such an emotional punch, but it did and I absolutely LOVE this author for it. I want more of this series! I was Logan's happily ever after. I want more Ava and Ro. I want even MORE Cal and Zee. I want this to be a freaking MOVIE so I can watch it over and over again! A PLAYER FOR A PRINCESS hit all the right spots. Wild animals couldn't drag me away from this epic suspenseful romance!

This night will be special for us

When you read romance you’re pretty much know what you’re going to get. Two people who fall in love and travel a somewhat bumpy but ultimately find their HEA. If you’re lucky you get laughs and angst along the way but the endings are never really a surprise. You know it’s going to end in happy smiles and warm and fuzzy feelings.

That is, unless you’re reading a book by Tia Louise. In that case you just won’t know what will happen until you’ve finished the last word on the last page. Tia Louise made it impossible for me to see a HEA for these two and I loved that I didn’t know what to expect. No, wait. As a reader I loved it! I loved the surprises and twists, the guessing and not being sure if this book would end the way I wanted it to. But as a reviewer I hate that. Because how am I supposed to review this book without giving away any spoilers?! GAH!

All the elements I loved in the first book is still here in the second. The unique world the author built, the sweetness and touches of humour, the way she packs such a great emotional punch with only a few sentences. The clever little details she adds, and that her characters seem so real in such crazy situations. And as always, that little touch of magic that makes you realise you’re reading a Tia Louise novel.

But this time, she took the sweet and clever twist to an old fairy tale and turned it a little dark. We are introduced to new characters, some of whom you’ll love, and some of whom you’ll love to hate. A Player for a Princess is an edge-of-your-seat, nail-biting, un-put-down-able, rollercoaster ride of suspense and danger from start to finish. You’ll have a few laughs in-between, and have a few happy sighs to break the suspense a little only to be knocked on your ass with the next twist. As always, Tia Louise brings the heat and those interactions are enough to melt the panties right off you.

This book cannot be read as a standalone but I could not recommend this duet highly enough!

Across the ocean to the beautiful beaches of Tortola to remote islands—A Player for a Princess takes the reader across a myriad of beautiful, scary, and amazing places—both physically and emotionally.

I absolutely adore this series and especially this book! It’s filled with emotions—from laughter, to misery, from love to heartache. Tia Louise’s beautiful writing draws you in from page one, or book one, and it won’t let you go. I couldn’t wait, after finishing book one, to get my greedy hands on this one, and I devoured it in one sitting.

Zelda Wilder and MacCallum Lockwood Tate’s story takes us on a wild and emotional journey. And without giving any spoilers, it’s a journey worth experiencing. Zelda goes through some very tough times, while MacCallum is trying desperately to save the love of his life. Uncovering conspiracies with friends turning foes and foes turning friends. Will MacCallum be able to rescue their happily ever after? Or will he be too late and lose everything?

From one page to the next, you never know what you will get. The book definitely keeps you on your toes. And the minute you figure out the title, I PROMISE YOU, you’re gonna absolutely ADORE Callum and Zelda.

This combinations of impeccable writing, complex characters with a depth to them I rarely see, and a storyline that’s so unbelievably believable in its twistedness made this for one of the best books I have read this year. It made me laugh, cry, and pray for the well-being of my beloved characters. I’m definitely a new, and huge fan of Tia Louise after this series. And I cannot recommend this enough!

Tia Louise does not disappoint. She grabs a hold of your emotions and refuses to let go while you drown in her beautiful words.

This series is something that I didn't know I needed, but it's EVERYTHING. Literally. Everything. There's so much love, angst, and suspense that you'll have no other option than to read it in one sitting.

Don't miss this series. I promise that you won't be disappointed.

The Prince & The Player and A Player for a Princess (Dirty Players Duet) by Tia Louise

Must be read together.
4.5 Stars

I am going to review both The Prince & The Player and A Player for a Princess by Tia Louise together since they make up the Dirty Players Duet, and can not be read without each other. Let me tell you, this duet gave me so much more than I bargained for! Back in the 90s, I was into the mystery/lawyer, exciting crime books a la John Grisham's The Firm. I realized reading this duet that I still love that type of excitement in my romances. The Dirty Player's Duet is billed like this:

Cinderella meets Ocean's Eleven in this ADULT CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE featuring secrets, lies, royal high jinks, scams and double-crosses; breathless, swooning lust, cocky princes, dominant alpha future-kings, and crafty courtiers, who are not always what they seem.

The duet brought all of this and more. Interestingly, this is about two couples. It is told by the female in one couple and the male in the other which is strange, unique, and it worked once I got the hang of it. At first, I had some trouble with the male narrator. In the first book, The Prince & The Player, he was so not sexy. He sounded kind of old to me and I usually find British accents sexy. In the second book, I figured he must have grown on me because he didn't bother me. I realized it was a different narrator after finishing both! They did a great job on continuity, because I can't believe I didn't realize. In this case, I am going to judge the story without the narration, and will discuss the narration further at the end. Because honestly, the story completely won me over despite not loving the male narrator.

We begin with two American sisters, Zelda "Zee" and Ava Wilder. They have had a really rough life, and Zelda does anything to take care of her younger sister, running cons and cheating at casinos while the beautiful Ava causes distractions and dabbles in pickpocketing. When they are caught by a wealthy stranger, they had to do what he said or go to jail. Zee's job--seduce the Crown Prince of Monagasco in order to discredit him. So Zelda and Ava were whisked away in luxury to Monagasco.
“Zelda Wilder is no princess. The closest I am is a dirty Cinderella, an orphan on the run, and that’s not the kind of girl for a prince.”

Rowan Westingham Tate and MacCallum Lockwood Tate are young handsome royalty. Since Rowan is older, he assumes the King position, but his younger brother, Cal, the Prince, is there to run the country with him. While Zee kept trying to seduce Rowan like she was supposed to, she was so attracted to Cal. And as we hear from Rowan, he quickly became obsessed with Ava.
“Her fingers thread with mine, and I know what I want. I know for the first time, and I feel complete.”

The problem is Zee's orders are to snag the King, not the prince! But the King had some other plans for Ava, and he only had eyes for her.
“I had sex with a king. Correction, I had sex with the king. I pretty much spent the entire night last night having orgasms. Can you believe it?”

The end of book one started getting dangerous and exciting, and ends on a small cliffy, but luckily, I had book 2 queued up, and I plowed right ahead. While I loved The Prince and the Player, I loved A Player for a Princess (book 2) even more. Book two made the sweeter, lighter story get a little darker, a little sexier, and a lot more action-packed. So action-packed that for the first time I actually couldn't do anything else while listening. I just stood there in the kitchen I was supposed to be cleaning, and listened, biting my nails.

Twists and turns, super scary moments, very sexy times and super romantic times, A Player for a Princess had it all.

audioreview_prince_-copy

I will say, I was partial to Zee and Cal, because I think we were supposed to be, being in Zee's head a lot more than Rowan's, or so it seemed.
Likes:

•A totally unique way of telling a story about two couples, having one voice from each couple.
•So much action, romance and sexiness!
•There were lots of lighter, funnier moments as well.
•An interesting, very twisted storyline that I never had trouble following.
•Just the right amount of detail to make you picture it all, but never too much to bore you.
•I can totally see this as a big screen movie. It would adapt really well to screen.
•Kept my headphones glued in my ears and couldn't stop listening.
•Loved the female narrator.
•Some super-hot sexing!
•The covers stand out as unique in a sea of same.

Dislikes:

•It took a little bit of time to get in the groove of the two narrators not being together romantically.
•See narration notes below.

Narration Notes:

•Different recording quality for each speaker. Background noise for the girl, and not for the guy. (I noticed this in the 2nd book, it may not have been there in the first).
•At first, I really really did not like the male narrator. So much so in fact, I thought about stopping a few times, but I had made a commitment to read it so I wanted to see it through (so glad I did). At first he sounds old. Instead of his accent being sexy, he sounded like an old, uptight butler. In book two, I noticed he was OK after all. I thought he must have grown on me, but then I found out book two was a different guy! LOL
•I enjoyed all the female narration, and not loving the male wasn't enough to take away my enjoyment of the book, but I must admit, had he been totally sexy I think it would have elevated the whole duet to 5 stars or maybe even 5+ range, but it's so hard to tell.

The Down & Dirty:
The Dirty Players Duet is a Cinderella Story filled with deception, lies, action, espionage, sabotage, kidnapping, hot sex, romance, political intrigue, human trafficking, assassination plots and more. It was truly an unputdownable roller coaster ride of a read that grabbed me so much I wasn't able to do anything but listen. The Dirty Players Duet needed to span two books because it is truly an epic tale of two couples told in a very unique way. My only complaint would be the male narrator in the first book, who had no sex appeal at all.. Still, I highly recommend this series, however you read it.

Rating: 4.5 stars (first book 4.25-4.5, second book 4.75), Heat 4.25, Narration 3.5

As a fan of movies, this book's tagline read Ocean's Eleven meets Cinderella and I was captivated as if I had to rank my order of favorite fairy tales - Cinderella is always at the top and then the title captured me too as I love anything with a Royalty twist. The novel starts with Zelda and her partner in crime discovering another one of their companions Helen murdered and then we read as they hightail it to the Caribbean and stake out one last gig at the local casino. Just one more game for Zelda and then she can return home to her sister who is getting ready to marry the new King Rowan. While on the gig, she runs into trouble at the casino as her lover Cal Lockwood - the Prince of the throne has tracked her down with his buddy Logan Thomas. Cal has let her get away once, and once was enough for Cal and this time he has no plans of letting Zelda get away. What will happen though when things start looking like they are going, Cal and Zel's way and she find herself kidnapped and part of a blackmail revenge plan and even worse when they discover she is hiding a big secret which will make her as a pawn, more valuable. I have to say I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would and though I had not read the first book - there were a few parts of the storyline that confused me, but overall I was able to pick up the pieces and put together what was happening. A Player for a Princess is the perfect read if you are on the lookout for a romantic suspense set in the heart of the Caribbean.

WOW! What a rush this book was. Zee has ran away from her handsome prince and is trying to tie up some loose ends so she will feel more worthy of Cal's love. But Cal has other ideas and wants to bring home his "princess".

They reunite for a short time until the evil Seth captures Zee! But Cal uses all of his money and power and does not give up until he has her back. But the struggles Zee goes through in captivity are so very heartbreaking.

This book is such a thrill ride. Its hard to review without giving anything away because of all the action. Lets just say it was incredible! There are the good guys, there are the bad guys, and of course there are the Princes's!!!

Loved this series! Now if Tia would write Logan's story...............5+++

*4.5 stars!

So much happens in this one. This one is filled with suspense and nothing like the feel of the first book which is mostly that "lovey-dovey" feel for a lot of the book. This one is a polar opposite (until the end of course). Like I mentioned in the first book, it's told from Zelda and Rowan's POV's touching on 2 separate couples. This one only follows Zelda and Cal.
I'm curious to see if the author decides to go down the path with the other characters in this series. I loved this duet and I'm so thankful Tia contacted me about reading them because I loved them!

Wow. This book though. Tia you grabbed my heart, ripped it out, stomped on it, put it back together, and made it whole again. How the hell do you do that in one book. Not only did this book pack an emotional punch, it was hotter than hades. I'm keeping this review totally spoiler free because it will ruin the book.for you if I say much more than I have This book has so many twists and turns that you will NEVER see coming. I hope you all enjoy as much as I did.
