I thought it was odd to have the emotional resolution of Eternal Bond be between Emishi and Amon. All in all GetBackers Part 1 has been serviceable. Art that is difficult to decipher at times and, at least for me, few moments of artwork that are truly breath taking. The story hasn’t been anything spectacular either but the characters do shine…besides Shido. Looking back I should have rated more Divine Design Volumes a 2/5 instead as that was by far my least favorite portion. Eternal Bond is definitely where the series was hitting its stride and it is unfortunate that Part 2 has never been fully translated. Never the less I will still be reading the last two volumes of GetBackers
“If every little bug has a soul, then it's not right to kill them for our own convenience.” I love the Infinity Fortress tag championship, especially how Dr. Jackal's like, “Does it matter if (the target) is sliced into pieces?” “Let's try to capture him alive.” “Okay, I'll *try*.”
