My first light novel. I don't really know what to say, it's easy to read the graphic was nice but I wished they'd add more feeling into it. The story is great but I feel that the manga version is better. Beside it's still not clear to me what really Shuu feels about Shima. Or if he love Taiga most or not.
The novel just wasn't that great. It follows the different characters and talks about how their falling in love but nothing "huge" happens, it was kind of cute but it annoyed me and left me annoyed after I finished reading it. I guess I just wanted more romance and action..
I'll be honest. I started this book expecting something to happen between Taiga and Shu. Maybe nothing so incredibly fast or romantic, but I wanted something. As I told my sibling when he noticed me grimacing over the book: "I read Yaoi for the Yaoi. If I wanted nothing but family drama, I'd have read something else."
As it was, what I did get from this book was a story about family. The Taiga/Shu moments were very few and far in between, and even when they did happen, there was too much background noise going on around them (due to their families/their jobs/their confusing pasts** -- more on this below) for me to appreciate it.
The story about the family wasn't bad. It was even touching at some points and I felt that I came to understand the different characters better. However, I did pick the book up for the boys love, and was quite disappointed with how that part of the story was overpowered by everything else.
** I don't know if it was a translation problem but I had a hard time following who did what in the past. I had to re-read several times and even then, I still didn't quite understand what in the heck those two were doing/thinking.
Was okay, could have been better. I agree with the afterword, the many characters are difficult to keep track of, and as such were pretty flat. All in all, though, it does have a pretty good message :)
