The first story in the anthology deals with Chihiro,a host and uke-wannabe, and Kensei, waiter and reluctant seme. If you suddenly wake up to a stranger laying on you in your own bed, wouldn’t you freak out? Not just roll over and say, ”Go away. I need to sleep.” I’d be getting to slapping someone’s scrawny butt out of my apartment, or the police will be involved. Chihiro has been hounding Kensei for years and finally makes a last ditch effort to make the man of his dreams realize that Chichiro was the one and only man for him. Silver cufflinks are involved (which ties into the second story). In the end, Chichiro gets what he wants (snicker) and Kensei get’s a wife and kittens waiting at home for him.
Story Two: Feather Hands. Feather hands? Ari has anger management issues, and cross playing tendencies and he beats the crap out of supermodel Yoh for daring to fall in lust at first sight. He’s got two fists of iron and a runs a bar but does delicately fine silver jewelry in a back workshop that he really doesn’t sell. Yoh is persistent. Ari beats him down. Yoh comes back for more Ari kicks the crap out of him. Well you can see where this is going...yup straight to bed.
The first story was the cutest thing I've ever read. I love Chihiro and wish the whole book was about his relationship. The second story didn't do anything for me.
All three stories were good but I think I prefer the second story over the main story.I think the second story had way more character depth, but the first one definitely had way more smut which I'm a sucker for, and the third was a cute little tie in.
I enjoyed reading this volume. This volume was about two different couples. The first couple made me laugh. It is about a guy that is the landlord son and he falls for another guy living in the same building. He is always going into the other guys room and waking him up, and trying to make him fall in love with him. The next couple is about a designer of silver and only sells it to certain customers. A guy falls in love with the silver and wants to buy it so he is always going to the bar trying to get the guy to sell him the silver.
More of a 3.5 than a 3, but I don't think it merits rounding up. All in all, it was enjoyable and the couples were actually quite enjoyable to read about. I could have done with less forced seduction, but it's a yaoi staple that isn't going away so at least Kusaka didn't go full non-con with it. My favorite stories were about the model and the silversmith; I almost wish the entire book had been about them, although the first couple was pretty cute too. The manga-ka herself seems pretty cool so I'll probably pick up at least another one of her works before too long.
Fun gender dynamics and unexpected twists make this one more than smut, for sure.
Artwork is fairly typical, but the plot makes up for that. The stories of two couples intertwine as each struggles to discover their place as couples. Kensei and Chihiro are cute and funny, while Ari and Yoh are more serious and mature. Both stories are pretty satisfying.
