Boone is a holler of backwood folks under an ancient curse that cannot be broken. Three best friends break the barrier and enter where they should not. Hell is unleashed and the beast returns to stalk the land of its prey. The witch, who has always been in the details waits, watches, and in time, she does what she will to see that the curse continues. Who will survive and who will die?

From its prolog to its finish, Boone is a very creepy and intriguing read. The spookiness starts literally from page one and doesn't cease until the stories finish. The story is also artfully written. So much so, that it played out like a movie in my head. I particularly loved the backstory /exchange between Lila and her father. It's deep and personal scenes/experiences like this on pg.7 that pull a reader right in. When reading these authors stories I always admire their attention for descriptive details, which make their characters so easy to visualize. This was an easy five-star rating. Highly recommended!
