With Allen Walker once more in their ranks, the Exorcists soldier into the fabled Ark of Noah. In almost no time they encounter opposition in the form of two young Noah possessing startling powers. The Noah, however, seem less interested in the grand plans of the Millennium Earl than in collecting payment on yet another mountain of debt accrued by Allen's master, General Cross Marian. Original Review:

5*
Volume 11 in the D.Gray-man series, where things continue to go to hell in a handbasket. Two by the time this installment is over. Stuff's starting to get serious up in here. Recommended.

2nd read through

4*
OK, for some reason, I just didn't think this volume was as awesome as I thought it was the first time; but it's still a fun, solid installment (in large part because of the way several characters).

This arc is real good. I appreciate that all the injuries they have suffered in previous volumes are still slowing them. Also, kudos to Lavi for finding the right key through the power of his brain.

Living my best 15-year-old weeb life and finally continuing this series. I know then-Zoë would be very disappointed if now-Zoë never finished. Here we are.

Decent volume, basically one big fight, but Arystar gets to be the star of the show. Worst part was when 29 y.o. Arystar is referred to as "old." 🥲

Time is running out for Allen and the other exorcists. They meet Jasdevi, a pair of Noah who are fast, strong, and hard to predict. Arystar decides to fight them, and let the others escape, but will these Noah be a match even for him?

Poor Krory/Crowly!

First it was Kanda, then it was Crowly. I knew this was coming considering I have watched the series, but still. Doesn't make it anymore exciting to know the characters fate for this particular section of the story.

Major difference between the series and the books - the whole Jasdevi/Jasdebi toying with Allen in the corrider before they got to the records room. That was sooo funny in the series, I actually thought it may have been apart of the Manga too, but it turns out, straight after leaving Kanda to fight that big fella in the last book, in this one, the gang kind of just end up in the Archives room when the corridor starts breaking apart. In the series, Jasdevi/Jasdebi play with Allens emotions and work him up a bit by initiating games that he would have done to survive with Cross. His friends became super worried with him when he did this because he became a completely different person.

One thing they did keep similar however, which I really liked, was the bit where they mentioned how Cross had given his debt to his enemies and now Jasdevi/Jasdebi were trying to pass it off to Allen, being his pupil and all. That rock over Allens head, and his reaction was so hilarious. And, Lavi/Rabi's reaction to Allen - how worried/scared he looked hahaha!

Poor Allen. Cross is such a nightmare for him lol!

Other than that, everything was suprisingly the same. There was not alot of differences at all and it looks like for this scene anyway the series stuck pretty true too it. Only difference, is it spanned over 5-6 episodes, rather than one book. But, it looks like a little bit of the ending is that the beginning of the next book before the storyline moves onto to Allens part where he plays the piano and the meeting of Cross.

I can't wait to reach this part as we finally see the 14th Noah coming fourth for the first time. Even if it is just a glimpse.

Jasdevi gets more interesting and annoying, ending this volume on a nasty, hopeless note. One marvels at how irritating Cross must be, to get to them and Allen to the degree that they do. Lenalee manages to show a little spirit, although she continues to be depressingly helpless. Allen, Krory, and Lavi had many a sweet moment, working together. There was a lot of development for the three of them. The journey through the Ark is compelling and tragic while the artwork is beautiful. This lives up to the promise of previous volumes and the ending is dramatic, even if it’s nasty. I’m hopeful of matters picking up a bit in the next book, keeping my fingers crossed about a certain something happening. No, I’m not saying what. ;)

The fight between the exorcists and jasdevi was entertaining. The twins have a cool ability where they can dream up anything and make it a reality like having Allen fight again a illusion of earl that is strong or making a thousand keys that look like the key they need to exit the room. The twins also merge together into jasdevi and fight against arystar the vampire which was an entertaining fight but arystar keeps almost dying and then coming back for more till the end where he finally dies… or does he…. I’ll find out next volume haha. I hate when stories are afraid to kill off main characters but I will say arystar is one of my favorites so he will be missed if actually dies.

4/5 Still trying to escape the Ark of Noah Allen and his fellow exorcists encounter Jasdero and David or Jasdevi, as they refer to themselves. They are another 2 powerful Children of Noah. I still love the style that the manga is portrayed in and how it's a lot darker than most shonen manga while still maintaining a good amount of comedy. The pacing has been pretty much nonstop for the last several volumes going from one bat shit crazy fight and/or escape to another. These character's need a break. Jasdevi on the cover this time.

This was a very good volume with a good and yet shocking fight. I found that the build up to the fight well drawn and written. Then I could not laugh at the whole debt part as it further explored a bit of Allen and his master's relationship in a very comedic way.
Yet as the fight wore on I found things very tense, especially when the rest of the group had to leave Aristar behind then it only increased when the famous last words were spoken. However it did not hold a candle to what happened in the end of the chapter, which was utterly shocking.

This volume follows the team after Kanda splits from the group and they continue to find a way out of the Arc.

I just was bored with this volume, Jasdevi is so annoying, I hate the twins but dang do they look good when they are merged.

I do find it funny the twins being pissed about Cross leaving his debts and then they went to Allen and Allen was just like that's all? Get out.

I hope this arc doesn't stagnate and get more interesting.

The exorcists, still seeking a way out of the imploding arc, encounter Josdevi as their next obstacle. Just as before, after a period of collective battle, the majority of the group moves on, leaving one of their number to continue battling the current enemy. Krory ends up being that one this time around. The fight appears over by the end of the volume, but the preview for Vol. 12 indicates that it isn't over yet.

In this volume, the team faces Jasdero and Debito who use materialization magic to bring their combined thoughts to life. Through a series of stalling tactics, Crowley stays behind to deal with Jasdebi and, ultimately, seems to have failed. Allen seems pretty sure that everyone can get out okay, but I suppose we'll have to see. A good story arc, but as usual they're spending way more time on fighting than on important story details.

Covers Chapters 98-107

the crew meets up with JasDevi and you see Krory in a one on one battle which is pretty cool! They’re still trying to escape the ark at this point, but overall still pretty good and action packed the past few volumes!

"I remember reading the Ark arc as it came out and it seemed really long, but maybe it'll be faster in the volume--" no it's still very long. The pacing was good in vol 10, but has slipped a bit in vol 11.

That said, the art has become absolutely gorgeous by this point, so it's a visual treat.
