This book is a wonderful retreat from the everyday world. It starts with a disturbing event that is all too real in the world today. But as the book goes forward, the reader is taken on a most unusual and delightful journey. The characterization is amazing. Especially if you like animals and nature, don't miss this one!

This is the most different book I have ever read. When I picked it up from the library and saw how long it was , I almost decided not to read it. Yet, I am glad that I did.It is almost indescribable: talking animals,ghosts,so far fetched, and yet engaging and realistic about feelings and growing up. It is not a scary story but a thought provoking one, and I hope more people read it and review it.
