Business doesn't have to come before pleasure. When we hooked up, I didn't know who she was and I didn't think I'd see her again. Then she sat down across from me in the boardroom. Emma. My rival. A woman I have to crush under my thumb, a woman I want to steal everything from. And a woman who makes me throb--makes me ache to just wrap my hands in her thick hair again. Taking over her company was all I wanted. Now I want more... so much more. I'm going to take everything Emma has and make it mine.
FINALLY the gods have answered my prayers.. a good book!! so so surprising in this day and age. I know that is pretty biased and stupid to say, I haven't even scraped the surface of the knowledge and good books out there. I meant in this genre and a MALE author...
Honestly all the credit for helping me find this book goes to The awesomeness that's ALEX It was a great book, I enjoyed the specifics of business dealings to the sex scenes and every little plot development of the story. I loved both of the characters, it was a perfect little read.
The only reason this doesn't have that .5 star is because my own stuck up ways. I wished it had a bit more passion and angst between characters. Although, it is more of a personal thing. Please ignore that; I would recommend it to anyone looking for change in usual romance grovel.
Okudum, bitti. Boş olduğunuzda okuyabilecek kısa bir kitap.
It was better than Hard Boss. Nate was very Sweet whereas Emma was Sassy and together they make a very passionate couple. Overall a short but good read.
This was my first book by Luke Steel and it was pretty good. Hungry Boss was a quick, steamy read.
Nate & Emma meet one night in the business center of the hotel they are both sharing waiting for there paperwork to print. They have sex without even knowing each other's name. The next day at a meeting they meet again Nate is offering Emma's company a buyout which she abruptly turns down.
As much as Nate wants Emma's company he finds that he wants her more. He needs Emma to give up control in more ways than one and that's something she's not willing to do.
Okay read. Though it's my first time reading this author the story had a tone that I could not get into. Thought it lacked steam even though there were steamy scenes.
I like how they met. I thought the sex scenes were super sexy, especially the first scene that was basically said one night stand and they didn't give their names. Then the next day they meet at a business meeting where he is trying to buy her company.
I don’t know how I happened to stumble across this book, but it’s the perfect combination of short, sexy, and sweet. Out the gate you get sexy, with a hot hookup between strangers in the hotel business center. Things get complicated for the hero, Nate, when he runs into the same woman again, Emma, and she’s the owner of the company he’s about to buy out. It’s awkward, being inside his head is hilarious, and of course he wants her again. Lucky for him, she wants him, too.
Don’t be fooled by the page count. The author packs a complete story in between the steamy scenes, so I didn’t feel short-changed. I liked both characters, and Steel does a great job putting you right in the scenes with them. I felt, heard, and smelled everything Nate and Emma did. It was the perfect short to read in between longer books. And the end at the airport is purrfect, with just the right amount of sweet—and there’s even an epilogue.
I do have to mention that I noticed a fair amount of typos, but they weren’t enough to spoil my reading enjoyment. In fact, I liked the story so much, I already snagged Steel’s first book, Hard Boss. And I’ll be keeping a look out for future short, sexy, sweet reads by the author.
Should one mix business with pleasure? Nate is in Seattle on business and decides to blow off some steam with a sexy woman he locks eyes on in the hotels business centre. The chemistry is intense and the sex is HOT!! No names. No numbers. Just raw sex. The next day Nate is floored. The business he is trying to buy belongs to Emma aka the one night stand. This book was fantastic!! It was raw, dirty and oh so hot!! Emma and Nate had to fight for what they wanted. Inside and outside of business.
I fell in love with this book because I absolutely love the characters! Luke Steel definitely knows how to write a head strong for business and fiercely independent woman when he created Emma Vance. Matching her up against Mate Stone was the icing on the cake! These two business savvy people know what they want and how to get it from boardroom to bedroom.....HOT!!!
Nate wants to buy Emma's company and isn't getting the big picture of how she created it or how she runs it. He knows it's a smart investment but doesn't agree with her asking price. These two start out on the wrong foot so to speak and eventually find a mutual ground of respect. For a short read, it will keep you entertained! I voluntarily read an ARC and so glad I did! Luke Steel is finding the perfect storyline and delivers every time!
After a very hot and very casual sexual encounter at his hotel the evening before a meeting, Nate Stone finds himself across the negotiation table with the woman in question, Emma Vance. Same as she was during their tryst, Emma is self-assured and plays hardball in the boardroom. She doesn’t let him conclude his buyout as planned which throws Nate off his game. Being the man he is, Nate will pursue both the woman and the business until he gets his way. Hungry Boss is my second read by the author and I love that he keeps them, short, to the point and the sex is scorching hot. Nate and Emma are both strong characters, people who fight for what they want with tooth and nails and I really liked the fact that Nate recognizes she’s a strong woman with her own ambitions who needs a man who can respect that. I enjoyed this story and I think the author very much captured the perfect depiction of what a relationship should be in the 21st century when it comes to individuality and mutual respect.
4.5 stars *An ARC was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*
This was my first book from this author and I really enjoyed it. I really loved Emma and Nate. Even though this was a short book(about 75 pages) I felt the romance was still very developed and you got a good look at Emma and Nate's personalities. This one quote from Nate kind of summed up why I liked this so much.
"I have this driving urge, not to protect her or give her things but to appreciate her. Because not every guy is man enough to walk beside a woman like her. But I am."
I loved that Emma was strong and confident on her own. I mean she was a kick boxer and Nate was still very alpha too. If Luke Steel write more stories like this I will definitely be reading them.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. 4.5 stars! Luke Steel has officially been added to my favorite author list! I loved hungry boss so much I couldn't put it down! It was short and sexy, I really liked how this was mostly Nate's POV (even if I wish there was more than one Emma POV chapter) it was different and that's what makes it better can't wait to read more!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Never mix business with pleasure. Nate knows this rule, almost as if he invented it, so why is it he is not following this rule? He is at a hotel, working some documents for the buyout meeting tomorrow. He is stunned when there is a beauty in the conference room that holds printers and computers for travelers. She is working at the computer and sending some reports to the printer. She really wasn't trying to turn Nate on, but man did she. Now he is breaking his rule.
She is the owner and founder of a company that tomorrow's meeting will determine the selling/buying stage of the company takeover. Emma is not thrilled with who wants to buy and take over her baby. She has done her research, she knows about the hardball this guy will attempt to play. So, to be able to counter offer (if needed) Emma is in the conference room of this hotel printing out last minute detailed reports. In walks a very handsome man, and her tingling senses are in overdrive. Now she is going against what she is normally like and diving right in.
She has been hurt by someone very badly. She is never usually so wanton about her sensuality. But hey, this is one night. Nate is turned on by her knowing just what she wants and not being afraid to ask for it, actually demand it. It now is a battle of the wits, as both want to hold tight on the reins. But the two of them make very little small talk and make that room hotter than a sauna. Then with printed reports/papers and a bit of afterglow happening, Nate goes back to his room and so does Emma. Both thinking about what just happened.
The next morning Nate shows up at the meeting and is completely stunned with who happens to be the owner of this company and who just entered the room for this meeting....it is none other than her.....Emma. Once Emma walks into the meeting she acts like she doesn't even know him, which is not sitting well at all with Nate. He can do nothing, including focus, since last night. Emma doesn't like the way Nate runs the meeting, and proceeds to tell him so (not super kindly either) and storms out. Now Nate is really angry. This meeting has just gone and shown him he was not prepared at all for this meeting, both mind frame from last night and details he has about the company. There is another thing Nate hates, being so unprepared for this.
There is some time between Emma and Nate actually having any contact whatsoever. Now in between this time there have been some things that are happening, no big twists to speak of, however, things that will weigh into this pair. Gifts are given, a new contract one in which Nate actually listens and hears what Emma is stating. At dinner he hands her this contract and goes, and she is supposed to be on a plane. Instead poor Nate is being disturbed from a shower. Emma is at the door. Things heat up even more so again between these two. This is where the relationship jumps into full potential. They do have that awesome happy ending too. All the way through this book you are right there with each of these two. Too hard to put the book down as well.
Nate is a man who gets what he wants, no questions asked, so when he sees this beautiful woman in the business center at a hotel he's staying in he knows he wants her and he will have her. He's so turned on by this mystery woman, she's feisty and takes charge, neither can stop the sexual tension and have probably one of the hottest sexual encounters I've ever read. No names were given and it's clear this was just a one time thing even if he wants her another night. Little does Nate know she happens to be Emma Vance, the woman he's scheduled to meet with the following morning in hopes of buying her business. Both shocked at the realization Emma stays focused and determined not to let her company slip to the wrong hands while Nate can't shake the night of pure bliss they had before and he wants her again, and what he wants he gets..
I received an advanced copy of this book and It was fantastic! This is the second book I've read from Luke Steel and he is quickly becoming a favorite for me, the man knows how to write! I love how strong he makes his female characters, Emma is the definition of independent woman. She's intelligent and knows what she wants and won't settle for less. Then there's Nate, oh my my my, Nate is delicious. He oozes sex appeal and confidence, but he also has a sweet romantic side that I love! I'm looking forward to what Mr. Steel has in store for us next, because this one did not disappoint.
This is the very first book I read of Luke Steel and omgsh, I ENJOYED every part of this book. Nate is a hardheaded, sexy, sassy guy. Anything he wants, he makes sure he gets. Nate likes to have control of things; he likes to feel in control. Enters Emma, Emma is a strong, independent, and she knows what she wants. When Nate and Emma meet, they just thought it was a one night fling, but later come to realize that destiny can be a bit** and throws them in the same circle. Now the problem is, do they give in and admit that they both want more? Or do they pretend that nothing happen and fight for what they want (in the work area) These two characters had a steamy chemistry; Nate is my new book boyfriend. If you’re looking for fast and sexy read, then this is your kind of book; I’ve already read it three times and I can already tell you I will soon re-read it again. Amazing book, I can’t wait to see what Luke Steel takes out next.
(Review done before with my other blog page FairyReader but my account was hacked so I'm re-posting my review.)
This is my first story by author Luke Steel and I have to say it won't be my last. What a brilliant story. Brings a new meaning to "excitement in the print room!!!" Workaholic Nate Stone wants a new business deal. He is quite determined and usually gets what he wants. Off to the print room in the Business Centre, he gets more than he went there for. A few prints only, not a hot feisty woman bent over the printer. Emma Vance, CEO of Social Tech needs a few prints of some important papers for her meeting. Meeting a hot sexy man in the print room is unexpected. Their chemistry is hot and well, a girls resolve can only last so long. It was a game of battle of the sexes or battle of wills more like. Both Nate and Emma want to see each other but it's a case of who will give in over demands in their business world. Can they compromise. Brilliant story and loved it. Enjoyed the Epilogue but thought it ended a bit abruptly. Maybe it didn't and I just wanted more. Good story anyway.
Luke Steel is a master at writing sexy and perfectly time-lined, short stories from the male POV. Okay, to be fair this is only my second book from this author, but again its a definite 4 star read!
Whilst a nameless one night screw in a hotel business center may not be to everyone's liking... it was certainly to mine! Nate Stone is in Seattle, making a bid for IT startup, SocialTech when he meets a gorgeous stranger using the hotel's printer. Imagine his shock when SocialTech's CEO is none other than the sexy stranger, the stanger he screwed against the wall as people walked past the other side of frosted glass. But Emma Vance won't hand over her pride and joy just to anyone and is insulted by Nate's initial offer.
Nate is sweet AF in his pursuance of Emma. His unexpected attraction to her means he won't back down, he wants her, and her company. She's smart and sassy and knows what she wants. Again likeable charaters and moved at an ideal pace.
Can you imagine? I am guessing he is fixing his fly? When I 1st saw the book cover, I was trying to figure it out, but the book pretty much explains that part or issue there!! ...this book is hot & steamy throughout ... usually books work up to that ... but this is right out of the bull pin ... riding that all the way through. I didn't realize that I was reading 2 book by Luke Steel at the very same time, I knew that the book covers were sort of similar but that happens a lot of with these authors, I have noticed that recently??! ... never heard of Luke Steel and now 2 books at the same time. I love Luke's writing style. No clue if Luke is male or female? Can you tell a difference when a male or female is writing? Well done ... I enjoyed this book, quick read ... had to know where it would go? thanks for the ride!!! ( :
I'm all up for short stories now and then. What can I say, as everyone I love a quick and hot book. However, if it has under 100 pages, I'd rather read about their interactions than pages of the characters chatting with other friends. As expected, it jumped quickly from zero to sixty. Out of nowhere, he realizes he wants more. Which is good, but as I said, I wanted more talking between these two. When they were together it was either sex or business talking. No other thing. It got me skipping pages, even if Nate and Emma's relationship is a modern one, with both of them successful. I really wanted to like these two, but it lacked a lot.
I wasn't going to leave a review at first, then I thought I should. First off the cover pic is awful, why Mr Steel would you use that pic? (It looks like the guy has a definite problem, nothing sexy about it). Then the story.......what woman in her right mind would have sex in a hotel business center with a stranger. I know this is fiction but good grief REALLY???? Who does that. This was the second book by Mr Steel that I have purchased and will be the last. Truly a disappointment.
A fast and sexy novella that will have you turning the pages. The chemistry off the charts as Nate and Emma go back and forth with negotiations of over taking a [art in her company when the attraction overtakes Nate and he cannot resist or get her out of his mind.Work turns into pleasure and they are explosive together and fit together to perfection.I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book
Nate Stone has a steamy and casual encounter in the business center of his hotel on the night before a business meeting to buy out a tech company. No names are exchanged and they don't expect to ever see each other again. Much to Nate's surprise, his sexy encounter turns out to be Emma Vance, the CEO of the company that he is trying to buy out. Can Nate and Emma keep business and pleasure separate? Read this steamy and short standalone novel to find out.
I've no much to say about this one. It was a short story that didn't get to deep about Nate and Emma's backgrounds. They met, lusted over each other, "fought and made up". No shattering romance, just a clinical relationship full of hedonistic sex. Emma was a great heroine without all the fuss, she was simple, powerful and confident. Nate was just the right amount of cockiness.
This is a fast paced, sexy and hot novella regarding business CEO's Nate and Emma. Nate is attempting to take over Emma's company but negotiations aren't so straight forward when faced with the chemistry these two have and a very steamy situation where no names are mentioned. Another great read from author Luke Steel. I can't wait to see what he come up with next. Highly recommend.
This read was hot, hot, hot!! Not only was the story solid and the characters believable, I really love the way they were balanced in fight, grit and spirit. This was absolutely a great read and I love how Mr. Steel writes about women who know what they want in business and won't settle for less than their worth!!
I'm not sure hungry is adequate enough to describe the relationship between the hero and the heroine. What started out as a quick tryst, turned into a sex filled relationship and business deal....
