It doesn't tell you on the cover, but this book is the first in a four-part series. There are multiple, unrelated stories in this manga and some are better than others. The title story, "Junior Escort," is about young celebrities working for the same agency. The more experienced star has a crush on an up-and-comer. The boy seems to reciprocate his feelings, but in time he discovers the agency only told him to pretend to keep their star client happy. This is the main story, which continues in the other volumes. I liked it okay.
The next story in the book, "Angelic Seduction," is shota-con. Up front I'm just going to say, shota is a thing I abhor. For those who are also not into it but want to check the manga out, the good news is that this mangaka's artwork is very old school and low quality, so all her characters look the same and you wouldn't know it was shota if she hadn't specifically said so.
"Behind Closed Doors" was a pretty good story. It's about a high school boy who was abused by his step-father and now cuts himself and sells his body because he thinks he's dirty and doesn't deserve better. But he gets a boyfriend who says his scars are beautiful and helps him see he's worth more than he thinks. This story was pretty sweet if unoriginal.
"So Lovable, So Kind" was just pretty generic. The two men dating each other each think it's just for fun but secretly is in love with the other. In the end they confess but the plot was thin and cliche and the characters weren't very likable because they weren't even nice or honest with each other.
"Baku," the last story, was terrible. I can't tell you what it's about because I don't know. I think there were 3 characters but this artist's humans all look the same and you have to tell them apart by whether or not their hair color is shaded in. In this story only one character's hair was shaded but there were two other guys. I never could find a plot... They just kind of kept saying each other's names and nothing else???
This isn't a manga I would recommend to any yaoi fan. I bought it because I had previously bought "Love Code," the second volume, which made no sense to me until I realized it was part of a series. I figured I might as well complete the series and get one read out of it, then I'll probably just sell them together as a set.
