Not quite as off-the-wall as the first volume, but still fun.

Just when I was assuming the original bit with the mansion and the robot maids and the once-mentioned "Bruce" had been totally discarded, no, here we are again, sword-flirting in the courtyard.

Why the writer (illustrator too, in this case) got lost?

Ok great disappointment!

After the 5 stars to the first volume of this Shone-ai serie
Vassalord, Volume 1 by Nanae Chrono I was so excited to read more!!! Poor me, expending money to such lame manga.

First if this is a shonen-ai why Johnny get in bed with a woman? and kiss her???? WTF was that scene?

Second maybe the illustrator should go to the doctor treat the tendinitis. I hope that's the problem here... a sickness that would explain me why there is such abyss of quality in the art work between the #1 and the #2. I found a lot of flaws on the draw, and it's not acceptable to a manga. How can a graphic novel had it? Maybe I'm a little exaggerated, but I really hate this kind of problem... in a manga the draw is it's essence... if I find a lame job I get angry... very ANGRY!. It's such a normal market problem! When the manga start the first volume is perfect and after, the serie can went down... well this one is so down it's in an endless abyss...

Third the public that read a shonen-ai want that... some male/male interaction. There isn't. So or the writer decide his/her's line of work, or there will be no one reading it.

Fourth WTF was that in the end? That's was THE END? Really? Seriously, I must read the last page and like it? WTF was that?

Fifth if the "jokes" in this story should made me laugh something was wrong... terrible jokes, and neither with the terrific good mood I was today, I smile.

I do not recommend this volume and I certainly hope it will get better... unfortunately I already bought the next volume

ESPECTACULAR.

This volume was like night and day compared to the first (ha see what I did there?). There are still some parts that are confusing, especially where the art isn’t clear as to what exactly we’re supposed to be looking at, but overall this was very interesting. We learn a bit about Rayflo’s past and see more of the relationship between him and Cherry. Lots of visual sexual innuendo but no actual sex. Cherry is obviously possessive of Rayflo, which makes me wonder if despite his insistence on simply being a good son that he feels more than just a kind of obligation/familial love for Ray...

Well, still a little confusing. But it’s much better this time around than when I first read them two years ago. I guess because I know who all the names are referring to now. You have to pay extra attention to what is being said because it’s easy to miss things. Whether that’s the translation or just Chrono, I’m not sure. This volume holds chapters 4, 5 & 6. We get a few hints about Rayflo’s past. And a new character, Harold, falls into Charley and Rayflo’s backyard. The artwork is fantastic as always. If it wasn’t so good I probably wouldn’t be reading the series. And the story is intriguing. A little mystery, a little romance, vampires, robot dogs, nosy detectives, crates of body pieces, etc. It’s enough to have kept me reading and now reread it.

Whenever I come straight out of reading a volume of this series, I always want to give it a high number of stars simply for the hilarity, but on later reflection, I always end up lowering my opinion. The second volume has pretty much the same elements as the first. Humor. Sexual tension. Hard-to-follow action. There are inklings of a larger plot beginning to surface, however, so I'm once again debating on whether or not to start buying this series. I definitely am going to continue reading it, though.

Much like the first volume, it was mostly just confusing. The book seemed to jump all over, although was more coherent than the first novel, I still had to go back and reread multiple pages to understand what was going on, and I never really got an in depth story at any point in time. The artwork was pretty, but also sometimes hard to follow, especially during an action scene. Overall, not one I'd recommend spending the time or money on.

This continues to be an amusing read. It also continues to be a bit convoluted in terms of the art; sometimes it just seems way too busy for your eyes to keep track of it all. However, in this volume, you start to get a sense that there is a deeper plot going on. Definitely it is holding my interest, and I will look up the next volume.

I didn't see so much relationship between main characters, from what I've seen this manga is just a light comedy with a little of mystery and it has a soft shonen ai as a joke, that's all, at least in these two volumes, but it's enjoyable.
