Thoughtful reminiscences of an artist who in younger days painted advertisements on the sides of old barns and country stores in rural South Carolina. His perspectives will bring a smile to your face, as he shares memories our grandparents would have recognized. Lovingly illustrated with numerous and varied rustic wayside emporiums. A gentle read that will linger with you long after turning the last page.

For anyone interested in the history of Country Stores and what made them so special, this is a great book. Filled with illustrations from the artists work, you get to read how country stores came to be, what made them so unique and what ultimately led to their fading away from us. A great resource for anyone interested in the beginning of commerce in the United States.
