Innocent

Rate this book
I told people I was innocent. Nobody believed me.

LINDSAY
I went to jail for a crime I didn’t commit. Now I'm out, my family and friends want nothing to do with me.
I thought I was all alone in the world until I met my probation officer. He’s a good guy who wants to help me. And he’s hot. Really hot.
Now I can’t stop thinking about him. I want him to do dirty things to me. Things that nobody has ever done.
Most of all I want him to believe that I am innocent.
How can he respect me if he thinks I’m a thief?
How can I respect myself?

RILEY
I know she’s innocent. She never stole anything. Except my heart.
She deserves better than a family that lets her down, but I’ll be taking care of her now.
I’ll be the one person in the world who believes her. And the one who gets her off.

A wild romance novella with HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.

3 ALMOST ALPHA STARS

Trouble just started. Now I have her in my arms, I can’t let go.

However, he does LET her go. And this for me was my major issue with the book. The hero, was just too protective of his job and reputation for me.
I might have found this acceptable behavior if she hadn't just passed out right before he sends her on her way.
He just gives her an orgasm and give her a list of shelters.
Tell her good luck and be seeing ya!!

description

I know, this is realistic, and most rehabilitation officers or probation officers would do this.
But this is romance land or smuttopica if you will.
And here heroes do EVERYTHING to protect their one and only!
I know, I'm delusional and I live on lollipop lane but, for me, that's just how it is.

description

As a result, she ends up sleeping on the street.
But hey, He did give her his jacket and a snack so... that's something, right?
And after a day of rejection from her friends and family, no wonder she was overwhelmed by his generous gifts.
She even tells him the following day
“I didn’t get into any of the shelters. I slept in the park.”
Straight away, I know it’s my fault. “I’m sorry,” I say. “You would have gotten a bed if I hadn’t kept you so late.”

And then he sends her out again for other night of uncertainty.
I just found it so disappointing!

description

He does eventually take her home and help her with her problems but for me it wasn't enough.
He seems like a nice person and she's a real sweetie but as an erotic tale!?
It was extremely tame for me.
DEAR GOD!
Am I so far gone into smuttopia that I find this tame!?

description

PLEASE DON'T ANSWER THAT!

I don't think I can handle this honesty right now!

Anyways, if this book had had an epilogue with some kind of HEA, I would have given it 4 stars.
But sadly, mostly smut/erotica books don't have many HEA. They mostly have HFN or HJF (Happy just f*cking) as I like to call it. Lol

Good luck and enjoy.
It's a decent book and a very short erotic tale. I enjoyed most of it but I don't think I will be rereading it. Glad I read it however

Safety is perfect no cheating, others, and condoms used. No triggers or acts of violence.

5 stars because I support erotic reads with a good story in it!

With this review I want to support erotic books with respectful plot and inspire the authors to write more modest books without encouraging males to degrade and disrespect females = btw. without encouraging females to idolize selfish sexist contumelious males (especially manwhores and cheaters)!

* For more information about the story itself please read Chantal’s review.
My rating of the hero was based more on his work ethic and his attitude to the offenders he supervised, and the community.
Therefore I agree with Chantal that his actions the first night the heroine was out of prison and was homeless were not ok. I can understand why he didn’t take her home - he was her probation officer after all, but it didn’t fit into the romance and he had to help her, especially after 4 (dramatically eye roll) orgasms!

My review:
As I started this book I wasn’t aware that the heroine was a virgin (I’m kind of overdosed on virgins after reading approx. xx793xx books with innocent heroines), but despite this I didn’t want to put it down and was half way in love with the hero :-)

This was a story of a young girl wrongfully imprisoned for shoplifting and abandoned by her family and friends after being 4 months locked up for the crime she didn’t commit.

The hero was her parole officer.
(Thank heaven he was not a billionaire/Daddy/Daddy with kink/much older/dark/cursed/damaged and definitely NOT a manwhore!)

I loved his character; I almost adored him – great guy with a golden heart and strong moral compass.

The morality was of course a bit overlooked when it came to his lust for the heroine *lol* I mean, common, he was sucking on her nipples and gave her 4!!!! (sorry, let me roll my eyes) orgasms after knowing her for 20 minutes (or so) and she was of course willing and hot.

But isn’t it why we read smut? Isn’t what it all about? *wink*

There was usual staff as insatiate lust for each other, sudden need to touch herself (even in public places), strong sexual pull to your soul-mate, climatic first time and natural talent to pleasure the lover.
But all sex-scenes were written tasteful and tactful!

What I really liked – and why I actually write this review – was the story behind all sex and lust.

The hero was a man who wanted to make a difference!
He was strong and loyal, he was smart and kind, he was just a decent human – he was not über-alpha, but much better – he was a REAL MAN - he was a man of action, not of words.

And, f*ck my life, it was much sexier than some moneybag d*ck!

I don’t say that the book was perfect, there were some small plot holes, unrealistic incidents and a bit of naiveté, but there was none of disrespect!

This was a good book not only to get off, but to become a better person.
(After rereading my review I want to call dibs on this sentence. MY creation *lol*)

This line alone made this book for me! Perfect!
Whatever hurts her, hurts me.

Well, since I’m the first one to leave a review here (and it’s my first 1st review = review & rating) I think I should clear some points.

It wasn’t an ACR. I don’t do them. Like never. (Please don’t take it as an offence about other ACR-readers! I only want to emphasize that it was my decision to pick up this book.)

I’m neither friends with the author nor related to her nor had any contact with her (nor author by myself).

I’m not a usual positive reviewer; my average rating is slightly above 3 and I'm always honest, even if it hurts. I may skip a review but I would never write dishonest one.

I neither recommend books nor cheer you up to read it. My reviews are based on my personal opinion, personal experience and personal moral compass.

I’m open to discussions as long as there are respectful. I’m aware that other readers may don’t like the book I liked and I’m ok with it. Feel free to disagree with me in the comments, but please without insults.

I’m an adult well-educated woman who likes to read smut (among other genres), and I’m not ashamed of it!!! *lol*

Sorry, if it was too much information– since it’s the first and only review here I wanted to be clearly clear :-)

If he could break the rules and put his hands down her pants as her probation officer a few minutes after meeting her, classing her as "the one" when she doesn't even know his first name "Mr.Brent" then he could have broke a few more and let her stay the night at his place as opposed to a homeless shelter which turned out to be the bloody park because there was no space!

Anyways, underdeveloped, bad grammar, virgin heroine and way too short. 10 more chapters, more time for romance to brew and it could have actually been a good read. 281 iBook pages is always a cringey, one dimensional with c-grade sex scenes. It was so close to being so much more!!!

safe read

The writing is ok, the novel is a instalust, instalove, ott novel and it isn't the worst of the genre or the best.

I really didn't like that the H allowed the h to go to a shelter (she ended up sleeping in the park). I like my guys a little more protective than that but he ended up doing the right thing.

Meh....ok it was safe, the plot was promising and for a change the H was not a manwhore but: it was way too short, the "lust at first sight" and all the sex moments were ridiculous, there was not enough (for me at least) revenge/justice against stepmother/father/best friend and ex-boyfriend.
Disappointing

Great, quick read

Plot: A
Characters: A
Heat: A

This story was a good read that packed a lot into this short story. Riley was a great guy, and Lindsey was a nice sweet girl. And I loved them together. There were some interesting things that happened in the book. And the heat? Let's just say my kindle caught on fire. Definitely looking forward to reading more by this author.
