Born into the Bellamy family, Laticia "Argo" Bellamy had no illusions that her family was like others. As a changeling born into the wolf tribe, she was unfortunately the lowest of the low. An Omega born into the leading family, she was luckily treated more like a house keeper, and ignored. The only thing keeping her going was the hope of graduation, which was the one thing that would lead her to freedom. As long as she wasn't more useful than for cleaning the house, she could live her last year in high-school in peace. Till she became useful.
An Alpha like no other... With a sudden alliance with a Scottish family of wolves, Laticia's simple life is cast aside for a ceremony that would serve her father more than she. In the icy eyes of Ewan McKillan, and his sensual touch, she finds her life now derailed. With his presence, an undesired yearning is awakened in Argo, and kicks off a series of events that will reveal a deeper, darker truth about her that will change the fate of the clans forever.
Will she fight against destiny, or will she become...The Wolf's Bride.
In the beginning I felt so bad for Argo the way her family treated her was horrible. When Ewan knew he had something special in Argo I knew things was looking up for her. It was like reading a story and waiting for the other foot to drop because you knew it was coming. I just never expected the outcome of this story but I definitely wasn't disappointed I really enjoyed the Wolf's Bride it was an awesome read.
I had hope for this book... but it was really bad. It kept mixing up 1st and 2nd person. At times, I did not know who was speaking. The convoluted back story. I'm still not sure who the h's brother's mother and father were (since they were supposed to be twins... ) - but I really don't care. The editing made things painful. Also, in the beginning the h was described as being smaller (petit) then her sister but later it said the h was 5'10"???!!!
There you have the gist of this ridiculous book. So, you have no excuse if you read it. I'm thankful the book was free for me .... because I would demand my money back it were not.
This book at times was very difficult to follow since the author spoke 1st, 2nd, and 3rd point of views all in one paragraph, at times in the same sentence. I was constantly trying to reread to figure out WHO was speaking. There were a lot of grammatical errors and missing words. The plot of the book was convoluted with past and present situations causing confusion. I almost liked the main characters but I just could not get fully involved with this book. Being a die hard reader I did finish the book but was just glad when this book ended.
Another Beautifully told story from Mrs Keen. Argo poor child had a unhappy childhood. Her family treated her like the lowest slave there was..Her sister, Lord I would have choked her like she did the brother missing with her Man right in front of her. Little did they know little missy wasn't gonna take it anymore. And I'm glad she did..Truly love this and anything Mrs Keen writes.
Argo just wants to go off to college and be away from her wolf family that treats her as if she was a servant but her father has other plans for her. I love how the author creates twist and turns that leaves the reader guessing and intrigued until the very end!!
I really liked this story and the twist at the end. The only problem I had was the switching of 1st to 3rd person in the middle of a chapter. It made reading hard and confusing.
Interesting story. A bit choppy because it jumped back and forth between first and third person. Overall, I enjoyed the story. The characters were interesting and I enjoyed the chemistry. Thank-you for listening and revising.
Loved the two protagonists especially Argo. What a woman! Strong, intelligent, resourceful yet humble. The omega, the servant of her dysfunctional family. She had a cunning plan once she completed her education, she was going to leave home and go to college. Then the McMillan clan arrives and she is to be married off to the laird Ewan!! What..what!!! She must have missed the e-mail. Her plans are up in the air and this is when we see the strong female. The confusing read came with the change in pronouns, the narrative voice changing from first to third person and a range of grammatical errors. It did spoil some of the key information I.e. Cora explaining who Argo really is. But on the wheel an enjoyable read!
The storyline was good but it was a major hurdle for me to get past the many errors in editing. It skipped from being told in a first person tense to " her" when it should of been "I" or "me" many times. It just needs help! Otherwise it could have been a much higher rated book.
Good read. Entertaining. Lots of plot twists. Never really found out Argo's real age. Didn't like the no-one in her entire life treated her like a real person. Even knowing the history, the Alpha still allowed her to be abuses
** Possible Spoiler Alert ** Wow, the end of this book has my head spinning ! So many people with so many people with so many lies and twists. It all left me shaking my head.
I enjoyed it. The only problem was the disturbing shifts between first and third person. It made it confusing and hard to follow towards the middle and end.
Good book.loved the story line never seen it coming and it has a real Study rhythm.Back to this book 100%I have some typos but other than that great great work
Sort of interesting storyline but could have been better...much better. You really need to fire your editor or hire a good one if you self-edit. You also need to stick to one "person" to tell your story. Switching from first-person to omniscient points of view confused the story, especially when done in the same sentence and paragraph structure. A good editor would have addressed this.
It was very good, but I got lost a couple times with figuring out when the book switched to a different character, but very good story line I enjoyed it !
Well, it started out with a good plot. Laticia "Argo" is the family omega, but also treated like a servant in her own home. Female shifters are not as valued as their male counterparts, so her status in the pack is as limited as it sounds. Her only dream is to graduate and escape towards a new life in college. Then her father springs his decision to marry her to an alpha joining to their pack as a stipulation. Everything was good up unto the family dynamics were explained, and the whole thing just fell apart for me. The explanation of things just didn't make sense so I grew bored. Not including the confusing switches from first to second person, within the same sentence. And Ewan had an unrealistic expectation for the heroin, someone with all kinds of trust issues and emotional abuse, to be in love with him in a week!
I love paranormal and this was a really good paranormal romance, I loved how he loved her for having spirit more than anything else. I hope there is a second part.
Loved the story and the characters. So many twists and turns at the end, my head spun. My only issue was with the grammatical errors. There were times when you weren't sure whose perspective you were reading, not to mention, the author would flip from first to third person easily, and sometimes within the same sentence. A little consistency would be nice. Overall, I loved the story; it just needed better grammer and proofreading.
This story was a good story but hard to follow. The author is in serious need for an editor. Once that is done, this author is going to be great. The story was hard to follow because of the changing from first to third person with no warning. The story was so good but the way it was presented took away from my enjoyment.
This book was an okay interracial. I just wish the author had done her research on Scottish lilt, especially if she wanted the hero to by an authentic Scottish purist who stuck to their traditions. Three were also a few confusing parts where the point of view between the hero, heroine and the narrator changed without notice and the incorrect us of pronouns. There wasn't enough character building or world building. There were attempts at other plots that were simply mentioned but not touched on again. The twist between the heroine and her mother confused me a bit. Everyone dealt with their feelings so quickly with everything that came out. Just wasn't realistic. The author started off well in the beginning but the middle and end got watered down, rushed and confusing.
I kept waiting for this book to "get good," but instead I read the whole thing still waiting on the good part. It's not the Argo and Ewan are bad characters, just that the story was full of family drama (in some cases unconvincing drama). I like shifter stories for the hot sex especially between an Alpha and and Omega, instead it was a snore-fest with mediocre sex scenes. Boring. D+
