There’s just something about that thug type of love. The love that holds you captive—no matter how bad it may be for you.
Falling in love with a thug is a risk in itself. But when you add drug dealing and corruption into the mix, things can get a little bloody – or deadly perhaps.
Carla loves Reek more than she ever thought possible. But the question is; is she really ready to accept the baggage, and hoodrats, that come with him?
Fresh into his position, as drug boss, Tyreek has a lot left to learn, which makes him an easy target. He’s earned the respect of petty trap boys. Unfortunately, his fellow drug bosses can’t seem to give him the respect he’s literally killed for.
Will Carla be able to wholeheartedly and unconditionally love Tyreek like he so badly desires? Or will a vengeful ex make her question the love he constantly professes to her? How much will Reek be able to take before he explodes, sending him to a point in his life where he can barely recognize himself? In this page turning spin off, murder betrayal, and corruption is at an all-time high, with just enough love in the mix.
For as long as Miss Candice could remember, writing has been her passion. In the beginning, she wrote poetry. Later on in life, when she was about thirteen years old, she was introduced to fanfiction.
The Coldest Winter Ever was the first urban fiction book she read. It wast then when she took Fanfiction to another level. She perfected her writing skills, and began to write Urban fanfiction. At first, writing was something she did in her spare time. Something that was therapeutic to her. Never in a million years, did she think she would become a published author, although it has always been a dream of hers.
Now, at the age of twenty-eight, she's penned over ten bestselling novels with many more to come.
In addition to writing, She's also CEO and founder of Miss Candice Presents.
Once again, Miss Candice did not disappoint with this one. This was an excellent read. She had me all caught up in this storyline. Carla and Reeks story had me all engrossed and anxiously turning the pages. This is thug love at its best. Just like with every relationship, there are the haters who are always trying to start trouble, and this story us no different. Will they persevere and get past all of the obstacles in their way? You have to read it to find out. I promise that you won't be disappointed.
This book started off pretty good. I think the breakdown for me, however, came around 67% into the book. While Carla and Reek were nowhere near my favorite characters by this author I was pretty much okay with the chemistry they exuded from the book. I think what took this from a 4 star to a 3-star read for me was several things. First and foremost Carla irritated my soul with the back and forth. Granted Reek had done his share of dirt causing her to second guess being with him but she was complaining and exhibiting irrational behavior that just made me want to say LEAVE already. For example, when he purchased the home and sent a picture her reaction just didn't track for me. I'm not understanding why she would stop answering his calls and get an attitude because he was trying to show her that he was all in. Then the issue she had with his occupation. She knew from the beginning that Reek was a street dude and I get that this could mean that his life was in danger each time he stepped out of the house but those are the things you sign up for when you are with a street dude. You can't be halfway in and halfway out the door. This added stress puts your man off of his square. I hate what was going on with Tyreeka and Nico but how in the world was she siding with the enemy?? Her twin and his ex-business partner, Vice had beef with this dude but she was steady talking about building a life with him. Where do they do that at?? So while the writing was up to par as I have come to expect from Miss Candice, this book just wasn't my cup of tea. Again while this didn't quite make the mark for me, it in no way negates the level of talent that Miss Candice has. I will follow up on pt. 2 because I'm curious to know what the outcome will be for the characters and hopefully I will be able to build a better connection with Reek and Carla.
So Toy set up Reek. I Vice finds Reek and his sister Tyreeka. Nick was basically using her to get to her brother Reek. Zee got herself in a jam. Her so called friend set her Neeki. Lyric wanted to rob Boss Zee should have known something was up when they met at the trap. Boss was grimey. What he had Zee to do to Lyric Hopefully her brother So will find her. Carla save Reek from Meechi and Toy. Can't wait for Part two
I was excited to see there was a spin off that showed a different side of Reek. I wanted him to be differs and I was a little disappointed at the back and forth between him and Carla. The ending makes me want to read book two and hoping it's somewhat better than this first book.
Not impressed... I don't know why I expected Reek to run his ship any different from Vice with this author. He was even more sloppy and the moves being made was worse making the authors ability to speak drug language even lower. Just didn't make sense. Something is saying stop here but of course this is a box set so why not give it a shot?
Tyreeka should of never trusted Nico. Zee is grimey and look where it got her. Reek should of listened to Vice. Carla needs to put on her big girl panties.
You can't trust anyone in this book, everyone one is out for self.Don't let Benny get away with killing Reek and help Carla get help before it's too late.
I really enjoyed this book. Carla was getting on my nerves at times. I love the way Reek demands his respect. Good way to end making you want more can't wait til part 2.
