They end by telling readers where they can view alligators, both in the wild and in captivity. Although not as often, as easily, or perhaps as happily observed as white-tailed deer or armadillos, the American alligator is an iconic Texas animal, and knowing more about its life and habits can help Texans better understand its rightful place in the landscape.

I live 30 minutes from Brazos Bend State Park, where the book gets a lot of its stories and data. I go there all the time and literally walk among the alligators.

This book explained SO MUCH to me about the alligators and the park. Everything in this book I could relate to based on what I saw.

I love how the author mixes in her own experiences with alligators with science studies.

If you are planning a trip to Brazos Bend State Park, read this book!! It will make your visit a 10x better (the park is pretty amazing for its wildlife).
