Mr. P was just your average, ordinary junior college English professor, that is until his wife unexpectedly dies. Without his moral compass to guide him, Mr. P soon spirals into a pit of despair, indulging in every form of fleshy carnality his 62 year old mind can imagine. After learning of a secret gangbang party from a flyer found at his local porn shop, Mr. P embarks on a bizarre journey involving midgets with huge cocks, female-to-male transgender bangers, and a hostess whose kinks involve more than just dressing up like a giant stuffed animal. Has Mr. P bitten off more than he can chew? Will his perversions prove fatal? Find out in this novella by Hardcore Bizarro virtuoso Kevin Strange, ripped right out of the pages of the controversial erotic-horror anthology from StrangeHouse Books, "Strange Sex"!

This just felt so vintage. Simple, straight-up horror story done just right, with a modern twist. Not a ton of character development, the premise wasn't explored as much as it should've been, but this kept me glued to the pages of my Kindle. I don't want to ruin anything, but I will say that the ideas are unique here and play off some established Native American lore. And the whole thing is a story within an0ther story. Our lead, Mr. P, mostly steals the show as the main character, but he was secondary to everything else going on. All I will say is that stuffed animals masturbating cotton candy is even more shocking than it sounds. And here I am reading this sort of book at 5 AM. All kidding aside, it's a quick read that could have used a little more depth for every aspect of it, but still holds up. It's a mind-bending, extremely sexual, and incredibly violent romp in the genre that I like to call home, being horror.
Kevin Strange is a sick, sick man. And I do mean that as a compliment.
As far as my B-movie loving, perverted old heart is concerned, you’re not going to find fiction any more fun than you will when Strange as at the helm. And Cotton Candy is certainly no exception.
I actually got to hear an audio version of this book, read by Kevin, doing voices for all the characters (the Estelle voice especially had me in stitches) on Strangehouse Books podcast Reading to Monsters. It’s pretty amazing. Especially the latter half of the book, when the...ahem...orgy is taking place.
The plot is simple: a stuff-shirt old schoolteacher reeling from the loss of his wife discovers the darker side of pornography. Working his way through all the kinky things this life has to offer, he soon figures out the only thing that will sate his sexual appetite is an anonymous gangbang. He responds to a flyer in the porno store and finds himself in a castle with an assortment of colorful characters, all of whom have some sort of distinctive looking/shaped genitalia, about to have furry-suited fuckfest with a rich socialite. After that, things get weird...
Now, the only thing that outweighs the descriptive, graphic violence in this book is the descriptive, graphic sex scenes. I mean, Strange has a way with words, and he brandishes them like a double-sided dildo as he nunchakus good taste right in the face. Maybe I’m just a teenager trapped in an old dude’s body, but I couldn’t stop giggling throughout this entire book. I mean, when you’re describing thick roping arches of pearly white cum like you’re Langston-fucking-Hughes...THAT’S FUNNY TO ME!
But it’s not all violence and perversion. There’s a story in there too, even if it is dripping with bodily fluids. A plot, with a beginning, middle and end, all of which move along steadily and remain enthralling.
I have a book out with Kevin Strange called Stranger Danger. But that cheap plug aside, the more I read this dude, the bigger a fan I become. I’m not kidding. I’m working backwards over here. This shit was the shit and shit. Read more of his books!
This was my first book by Kevin Strange and I have a new favorite author!
This was a page-turner for sure, I was hooked all the way through. The story is gripping, exciting, weird and disturbing. It's a perfect blend of splatter and bizarro!
Little has been written about the underground furry fetish phenomenon, but StrangeHouse Books publisher/editor Kevin Strange explores the secretive sex craze in detail with this novella entitled "Cotton Candy." Any guy who has ever been to a carnival with a girl knows that she'll do anything if you win her a stuffed animal. Interestingly, the girl character in "Cotton Candy" has a gangbangin' sized collection of plush toys! Unfortunately, the furry phenom can sometimes get in the way of a good old fashioned male-dominated orgy, as our heroes Mr. P, Vern, Fat Bob, Big D, Maxwell and the Brothers Kumm (Kirk and Bruce) soon realize when they begin to teach the obligatory female guest her exploited role in the denigrating funfest... But soon the readers learn how Miss Estella puts together her ever-growing plush collection. In all seriousness, the story "Cotton Candy" is bizarro fiction at its finest, meticulously plotted and perfectly executed. This eye-candied tale was the stand-out story within the erotic horror anthology "Strange Sex - A Strange Anthology" and is now available by itself as an ebook for folks who are too cheap to buy the whole anthology. Basically, if you're not a fan of Kevin Strange after reading "Cotton Candy," then I feel sorry for you. And for anyone who has ever put himself in a precarious position for a cheap thrill, "Cotton Candy" will stick to your soul like bukkake bubblegum.
I really enjoyed this novella by Kevin Strange. A lonely widowed college English teacher discovers the joys of porn and prostitutes. As he explores his newly awakened sexuality he struggles with feelings of shame and self-loathing that are mirrored in his neighbor’s reactions toward him. So far there is nothing out of the ordinary here. But then Mr. P makes the unfortunate choice of responding to an ad for a gang bang. Before he knows it, his pants are off and he’s caught up in a horribly weird scenario that is part Critters the movie and part unsearchable term on Pornhub. The story is graphic, tasteless, and written in a voice that carries off an old man’s doubts, shocks and lusts convincingly even as it peels off irresistible one-liners that made me laugh out loud. As a bonus to this book you get two short stories by the author, “An Otherwise Ordinary Kind of Life” and “Sleep Now, Sinner,” that are equally twisted.
I read this short in the Strange Sex anthology by Strange House Books and decided it should have its own review.
Kevin Strange takes Toy-r-us and adds in some B-grade horror porn. Cotton Candy will never smell the same to me again.
An old widower finds porno films, sex toys and an adult store. But when masturbating becomes boring he needs something more. He meets the Party Planner then all hell brakes loose.
A circle jerk, gang bang extravaganza. With more twists then a curley pubic hair.
A standout piece from Strange Sex, "Cotton Candy" is a full moon fuckfest of furry delights. Gangbangs can be daunting enough without the plush suits, let alone the terrible secrets within...
A good, quick read that was well written and kept me interested all the way through. I enjoyed exploring the obsession of the main character and the extremes he would go to satisfy it. Recommended!
As much as I’ve enjoyed reading some of Kevin Strange’s other stories up until now I think this one is the best yet. Narratively it is quite close to Lovecraft in style, while in theme... well it’s not like anything else. In the back of the book there’s two additional short stories which keep up the pace with just as much debauchery and strangeness as the main feature.
