It's a reluctant Jon getting pulled into Damian's plot to investigate Lex Luthor. Jon doesn't want any part of it but Damian kind of goads him into it. They argue almost the entire issue and I love it!!
Jon's adorable and sweet but Damian pushes him to the point when he can be mean. Damian appears condescending like 90% of the time but he keeps trying to pull Jon into his orbit. My son needs friends!
I love the ending and I can't wait for the next issue!!
Damien plants “explosives” at LexCorp while Superboy tries to run away from Lex. He’s caught and taken back to Robin, where there’s multiple bombs planted. The boys leave and Damien reveals they were real bombs, but he did download their security footage. 140+ hours worth.
Superboy noticed some kid who comes into the lab but the camera fizzles off when he approaches an android. Damien finds out the kid is Reggie Meyer, a kid who’s family got hit with the Amazo Virus and gave them powers.
The boys head to the family’s last known location where they discover the dead bodies. Superboy decides to fly off and inform his dad. Robin stays and analyzes the scene. Issue ends with Superman overlooking Robin and Batman overlooking Superboy

The banter between Robin and Super-boy is great. I'm enjoying the mystery being set up, but I do feel I lack the context for some events that probably occurred in other Rebirth series. For example, I did not really understand Super Lex's deal.
This was cute. Again, I'm coming at this from the era of Tim Drake and Kon-El Kent bringing me into the genre, so I'm probably more judgemental than I would otherwise be. I like the art and the dialogue. My issue with the villain from #1 didn't seem to be an issue here, and I really like the cliff-hanger. Nice nod to Damian's presence in the Teen Titans, too. I'll keep up with the next few issues and I do want to see this series do well.
I really do enjoy team ups that involve characters consistently fighting with each other. I think it allows a lot of space for the characters to grow. The great thing is that Robin and Superboy balance each other out. Damian's strong suit is investigation and hacking while Superboy can see things that Damian can't because of his powers. At some point Jon uses his superior vision to point out the location of someone they are looking for. It would have taken Damian a week to slow down the footage to the point that he could see the same thing. They make a good team and most of their disagreements are hilarious and entertaining to see. I can't say their fathers will be very happy to find out that they are sneaking out in the middle of the night of their own accord to go on private missions. I have a feeling that won't be a pleasant conversation.
EDIT: I should probably add that Reggie is psychotic and the consequences to the people part of this experiment mentioned in this issue are horrible.
I don't think this was as good as the first issue, but really good nonetheless. The dynamic and banter between Superboy and Robin is great. Good series thus far.
I received an advanced copy of this from NetGalley.com and the publisher
