Chuck Wagner, a naturalist and part-time hunting guide, isn't interested when he receives an offer from his old friend, Ed Witherton, to help him search for the lost lair of an ancient sorcerer. But the money Ed offers is too good to refuse and soon he finds himself combing the mountains of Southern Europe. To Chuck's surprise they find a hidden valley and a well-preserved house. Ed begins to see Chuck's transformation as something useful and pleasurable rather than something that needs to be fixed. Chuck finds his mind ensnared and his will subject to Ed's whims. Meanwhile a monstrous presence stalks the surrounding woods. Chuck may have an ally but will that be enough? Can he find the strength and wherewithal he needs to free his mind and escape the Valley of Horror? Turnquist is at her best with this tautly written erotic adventure filled with mystery, suspense, horror, magic and sex. Set in 1930s Europe. Approximately 22,500 words.
