London, 1910. Lester Holdsworth is a brilliant pianist and his twin, Lillia, is a magnificent they are destined for the stage. But their cruel father has other ideas for their future. Lester is sent to a military academy, while Lillia must marry Lord Dalton - a pompous friend of her father's. Yet their plans to defy their father's wishes are put on hold when war breaks out in 1914. Before long, Lester is flying planes for the Royal Flying Corps and Lillia is using her skills as a nurse to help those wounded at home, and then abroad. And both twins wait in hope, like the rest of Europe, for the war to end and the music to start again.
Woo! What a wonderful book. So sad when the boat sunk and the the plane was shot down. You wonder if they will survive the war to get back to there music. Great ending.
A great read. I was hooked to the story. I was quite shocked at a few things that happened in the story. But I felt like this was like what it was like back in the day. I will look forward to reading more books by this author.
A beautiful story of finding love in the midst of war. Having careers put on hold for the first world war. Will the music start again when Peace is declared?
