"You wanna tell me why paid all that money to a match maker to find you a husband you don't wanna f*ck?"

Olivia:

They say good girl should save herself till she finds a great catch, but guys my age want a woman who knows what she's doing.

A modern day take on an arranged marriage seems like it might solve my problem.

Except Redd's nothing like the clean cut, professional man I always envisioned myself with. He's a rugged cattle rancher with mud on his boots and dirt under his nails. He's older than me too, and I'm worried he'll be turned off my lack of experience.

I thought maybe it would be for the best if I didn't mention the unpunched V-card to the man I'm supposed to marry. I know I should have fessed up before we got carried away but a man like Redd isn't going to want a wife that he has to teach everything to.

Redd:

I always did want to raise a bunch of kids with a good woman at my side, but the right girl never showed up. I ain't getting any younger and I'm done waitin'.

So I hired myself a legitimate modern day marriage broker and gave her a ton of money to find me a wife.

When Olivia shows up with her sunshine blonde hair, those meadow green eyes, and all them curves pouring over her body, I gotta admit she's a might prettier than I was expecting and a lot younger.

She ain't so young that I was expecting her to be as innocent as she looks though, and now she's worried I'm going to turn her away like all them young fools she's been going out with.

My Olivia's right about one thing, I am experienced. But there's something to be said for getting started with someone who already knows a thing or two and I'd be lying if I said I didn't love knowin' all Olivia's firsts belong to me.

***
A Great Catch features one rugged older cowboy, one innocent younger woman, and the modern day arranged marriage that brings them together.

Rocklyn prefers her romance reads to be short, cute, and dirty; low drama and a little over-the-top: extra points for growly, alpha heroes with beards.

Originally from the farms and ranches of Central California, Rocklyn grew up in the lap of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Those small towns will always be home, but Rocklyn was born to roam.

These days she spends her days exploring America's back roads in her camper trailer, writing steamy happily-ever-afters while looking for internet.

And what do I read? Total smut, the kind with over-the-top chemistry that gets characters to lose their minds and their clothes as soon as possible-- they can work out the kinks on the way to happily ever after later!

Another successful match for Miss Raven and her arranged marriages.....and mmmm! mmmmm! Another job well done indeed.

He is a man who knows what hard work means. Running a ranch is no light weight job. He also is still single, asking for help from the woman he dated back in high school (who is very VERY happily married to Nate for 20 years) to be his chosen spokesperson for this Arranged Marriage website of Raven's. Redd knows he wants what Nate and Connie (the ex) have. He wants the wife who is hot only for him, sees through rose colored glasses for him and him alone, a happy marriage and kids. Nothing too big to hope and wish for. But he wants the right woman to fill that dream. Connie knows him (has known him for the last 28 years too) and knows him well, and Redd has total faith in her choice. Boy does he a bit of a surprise on this one.

She is a hair dresser, a damn good one mind you, and 23 years old. She is not having any luck with men, and by the way she is holding onto a very special V-card as well. In the relationship scene she is greener than green. She is holding out for her wedding/marriage before giving something that precious away. She is done being "friends' with guys and wants marriage and kids....and she would like that sooner rather than waiting. Poor Olivia (Libby) then has her BFF be her spokesperson for the online arranged marriage site. Little does Olivia know her heart is going to be swooped up and all her hopes and dreams are about to come true...with a teeny little surprise with that.

When Redd sees Connie's truck pull up, he is nervous. He knows Connie went into town to pick up his future wife and her friend. He recognizes Olivia's friend from the picture she sent him during their conversations/discussions about Olivia. Then he spots this young lady....did Connie not see the age difference here?? No matter his heart and body are not listening to the voice of reason at all. He is going to make the most of this, and hopes she is willing to continue on the marriage path with him despite the age gap. The horse ride that was planned, the talking and everything with Libby is easy and fun and he already knows he is a goner for her. Does she feel the same?

After deciding to stay for the week while her BFF goes home was an easy decision. Now, Redd and Olivia can talk, get to know one another and really see if they are a good match, like their friends think they are. There is a moment that arises that poor Olivia has to break the hidden secret about her being a virgin and hoping Redd understands. They are really having a moment when she shies away and Redd is angry and hurt, but also understanding. He has to coax her out of the bathroom and stop Olivia from crying, and then she tells him her secret. He is shocked, pleasantly and happily, but shocked. Did I mention he was also flattered beyond anything???

There is a lot that takes place from this moment on. A little up and a little down going on. A bit of fun and a bit a sad (just a little bit but to spoil you a little - there is an understanding from that little sad moment and that is all it lasts is a moment) and there is plenty of getting to know one another, a wedding, and all the fun that begins for these two from the beginning to their happy ending (with hopes of there being more for their story as well) A great ending also, not just because it has a happy ending for these two, but how they both realize how much they mean to each other as well as other people in their lives. Just an awesome win-win for another awesome arranged marriage by Raven!

DNF. I'm sorry, but this was kind of dumb and annoying. Premise, flow, and overall writing were good, but I could not stand any of the characters; they completely killed the story for me. Olivia was a whiner, Redd was...I don't even know how to describe that charmer...and the side characters were irritating.

What left a real sour taste in my mouth (and I know it's not such a big deal for most people) was that Redd's 1st girlfriend/high school sweetheart was the one he chose to pick out his future wife. I mean...ew. I know they were best friends growing up and they're still close friends, AND I'm fully aware that this chick has been happily married to someone else for 20 years with 4 kids, but...that's still kinda yucky for me.

I'm guessing that mostly I'm jealous on behalf of the heroine even if I don't like her. There was also the stupid scene later on with his ex intervening and telling him to propose to Olivia before her trip ended and to fuck her. The amount of oversharing and nosiness was real cringey, too.

I'll still try some other books by this author to give them a fair shot, but if those all have characters like the ones in this, I'll be closing those books real fast.

I voluntarily reviewed this advanced readers copy.

This was a sweet and sexy story. Libby saving herself for the right man to marry and finding that all the guys she's looked at really wasn't what she needed.

Redd, who's high-school sweetheart dumps him on prom night for the new guy travels before settling down at the family's ranch, is wanting to get married and have a family of his own. Just watching his ex who is also his best friend with her happy marriage and family only drives him more. When he signs up with Raven's marriage services he asks Connie to pick out his bride for him.

Carla, Libby's best friend, convinces her to sign up for Raven's services and helps pick out her husband.

Carla and Connie made the perfect choice but is Redd going to mess it up? Libby is scared that being a virgin is going to ruin her chances with Redd. Does she tell him? Have to read the book to find out.

An Awesome Read!

I loved reading A Great Catch, all about Olivia a twenty-three year old girl who is looking toward Raven Swann a marriage Broker for her one true love. She answered a long initial questionnaire, then another more in depth questionnaire met with the broker several times, put together a team of three people who know her best and now she has to meet the man of her dreams. Redd Davies is thirty-seven years old and went thru the same process that Olivia went thru and his team consisted of his ex-girlfriend Connie & her husband Nate who have been married for over twenty-three years and they picked Olivia. So the author wrote a book about modern day arranged marriages by Raven Swann, who seems to have a real knack for matching up the right couples. So read about Redd & Olivia and see if they have a spark that sets them on a true path of love! This is the fourth book in the series and I have read everyone and loved each of them, can’t wait to read book 5! Check this series out you won’t be disappointed, I can almost guarantee that!

Another great story! This story was fresh and detailed. This is the story of a virgin with a specific set of morals and rules and a hot alpha (slightly dirty) cowboy who wants his new wife. This is an older man younger woman romance. Each of the characters was well developed and the situations that they got into and how they dealt with them were great. They were strong and determined in their own right but when they got together their chemistry was over the top and the reader could see why they were the perfect match for each other. I loved that the lead female was strong and kept to her rules and morals while the lead male understood that if he really wanted her he needed to abide by her rules and slow down their relationship. He treated her with respect and love and it really showed through in the writing. This story felt like one of the past with the fresh slightly sharp language of the present. It was sweet and amazing done. I received an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

Olivia, the virgin girl, was tired of waiting. She wanted to marriage and it was now. Make use of Raven Swann’s arranged marriages services to deal with the issue was her only hope. She has her expectations and was already daydreaming about Mr. Right. Redd felt he was getting old and it was time to get a wife and some kids. So, both Olivia and Redd were in the same mind making their close friends arrange the date for them. True been told, neither Olivia nor Redd were what they were expecting for their match. This story was very amusing full of witty comments, a not shy virgin girl, a sexy man with an unbridled tongue and an interesting and shameless secondary character that made me laugh a lot. The characters were a blast! Romance and hot sex completed the stage for this entertaining story that I enjoyed a lot.

Redd's 37, rich, sexy & tired of being single. He wants what his friends have, love, be married to a good woman & have a lot of kids. So he hires a legitimate modern day marriage broker, Raven Swann’s Matchmaking Services to help him find a wife.
Libby's a 23 yr old, who's just been friend zoned again after revealing that she's still a virgin. She wants a husband & kids of her own, so she & her best friend decide to sign her up for an modern day arranged marriage, also through Raven Swann’s Matchmaking Services. When the results come in she must go to Nebraska to meet this man, Redd & he's not at all what she expected, she like her men refined & Redd looks rough. There's an undeniable attraction between them, but Libby's scared she might end up in the friend zone if she reveals her secret. Will Redd find our? How will he react?

Loved it

I love a Cowboy! A Great Catch's features a Cowboy who is long past ready to settle down, but hasn't found a keeper. He enlists the help of his childhood sweetheart and Raven Swann to fin her for him.
Olivia, "Libby", is a little old fashion. A virgin at 23, she has been saving herself for the man she marries. Trouble is her V card seems to be a deterrent. Her best friend Carla with the help of Raven Swann is determined to find her a man.
Libby is surprised by Redd, for one he is not the white collar professional the she has dreamed of. He is also more than a few years older. He's charming in a rough around the edges way. Now she just has to confess her inexperience and hope he still wants he.
A sweet an steamy love story. Loved the Honeymoon epilogue.

After a great disappointment with the woman character in “A Perfect Gentleman”, I had some worries about this story in The Arranged Marriage series.
But I was glad to be wrong.
Here we have a cute love story, no false presumptions nor miscommunications.
Redd and Olivia are ready to settle down, and very open minded to whom the matchmaker service will propose to them.
They are quite surprised by their age difference but it does not refrain them to get to know each other.
Even Olivia’s anxiety to confess she is still a virgin brings no big drama.
It is just a fast paced love story of people who understands quickly they were made to be together.
I liked and smiled with the extender chapter offered by the author.

Tired of being friend zoned, Olivia goes to Raven for a husband. After waiting for years for Miss Right to come, Redd relies on Raven and his best friend Connie to find the perfect wife for him. Neither expected the other, but when instant attraction blooms will they give in? Will they be able to overcome Olivia's shyness and lack of relationship history?

Another hot Rocklyn Ryder read! I'm a sucker for her arranged marriage series and this one was just like the others. Loved Redd's patience when it came to Olivia once he figured out her shyness and loved Olivia's hidden wild streak! Great book and definitely recommend!

I downloaded A Great Catch as a free 120-pg novella from Amazon (although, story ends at 80 percent). Perfect example of how to construct a short HEA romance story. The author paid attention to both story and character development, which often gets overlooked in novellas when writers try to compress too much info into a couple hours of reading. There was a nice, simple plot with two main protagonists the reader roots for from beginning to end. I thoroughly enjoyed A Great Catch and would be happy to read something else by this writer. Well done.

"But Connie never said anything about meeting anyone," I protest Carla's eager nodding.
"Of course not, poor Connie has to break it to Rehh-- your guy-- just like I'm the one breakingit to you"

In past books the main characters knew the names of their intended AND that a chaperone first date occurs........
" I gotta figure that any woman who's willing to go through a marriage broker to find a husband probably ain't much to look at if she hasn't been snatched up already"
So what he's saying is that HE also ain't much to look at?

I have been thoroughly enjoying this "Arranged Marriage" series. Unfortunately I didn't feel the connection as much with this couple. Perhaps it was because I didn't feel like there was all that much dialogue between them. Both seemed desperate for a marriage but I didn't feel convinced by their emotional connection at all. Physical yes but not the emotional. It was still an enjoyable short, sweet story.

I have read several Rocklyn Ryder books now and have absolutely loved them all. Redd and Libby story is just as sweet and hot as the rest. I may have said it before, but seriously, where is this Raven in real life? Because I need her in mine. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Awww! Absolutely loved this. Wished it was a bit longer, only because I loved the characters as well as the story line. This short story didn't feel rushed or cut off, had a nice pace with characters that will have you falling in love with them right from the beginning. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

A Great Catch is amazing.
Olivia and Redd both want to get married and have a family.
So they ask for their best friends help and they pay for the services.
Redd finds out that his soon to be bride is a virgin, but they get along so well otherwise.
Great and smoking hot story.

Great

I love this series. This was about a virgin that wanted to wait until she was married to give up her V card. He was an older man ready to settle down. They were matched perfectly by their family and friends.

Nice

Happily ever after was never so entertaining. I loved the cowboy hero but was not so much in favour of the age difference. Would have liked to hear a little more about the "after" though!
