Lennon Barrick-St. James is making headlines as New York City’s hottest new socialite. Only she isn’t new at all. One well-intentioned night gone horribly wrong has landed the daughter of vice presidential candidate Christopher St. James on the front page of every newspaper and magazine in the country. Forced by her father to stay out of the limelight, Lennon flees to the quiet town of Heaven, Texas, where she vows to lie low and avoid men. Well, except for the sexy biker she just ran off the road—she definitely won’t be avoiding him. Noah Cunningham already has one girl in his life, and he sure as hell doesn’t need another. Especially the beautiful and sinfully sweet angel that just descended upon the quiet little town he calls home. The only problem is that the more time he spends with Lennon, the more he wants to be with her. And that’s just not going to work for Noah. He’s already been burned once, and he’s not so sure he’s ready to go down that road again. Noah has spent the last five years putting his life back together after secrets and lies ripped it apart. So what will happen when he learns the truth about Lennon?
Overall Opinion: This was a little less than "just ok" for me. I didn't feel the connection between the characters, and I didn't really connect to the characters themselves either. I hate when a mc intentionally keeps a secret from the other, especially when it could impact someone else (like the H's daughter) -- and the h does that here. It didn't help me like her at all, and I just became frustrated with the dramatics that it causes. The love was pretty instalove IMO (which I'm also not a fan of), and it was a little too mushy for my liking. Just wasn't my jam I guess...
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Lennon and Noah's story. They meet when Lennon runs Noah off the road when arriving into town after a very public scandal. Her father is running for the vice-presidency, so she is sent away to a small Texas town make the scandal go away. There is an instant strong attraction between the two, but Noah pushes away at first because he has a daughter and a bad past with her mother. After some time together, they can no longer fight the attraction and end up falling in love. There are some big secrets that get revealed, some sexy times, some sweet moments with Noah's daughter...and they get a HFN ending.
POV: This alternated between Lennon (mostly) and Noah's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Good until the end. I thought it flowed well, and I never skimmed.
Instalove: Yes. I personally felt like it was instalove, because I didn't understand the progression of feelings -- but others might say no.
H rating: 3 stars. Noah. He was ok. I did feel like he overreacted at times about things.
h rating: 2.5 stars. Lennon. She ticked me off with keeping her secrets. I wanted her to be more up-front with the H.
Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed
Push/Pull: Yes
Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.
Descriptive sex: Yes
Safe sex: Yes
OW/OM drama: Yes
Sex scene with OW or OM: No
Cheating: No
Separation: Yes
Possible Triggers: Yes
Closure: This had ok closure with a jump ahead epilogue and what I would call a HFN ending . This is yet another book that has the big conflict resolved right before the epilogue :/
How I got it: It was part of my kindle unlimited subscription.
This book is a clean romance. Its too vanilla. There is a plot but it does not have so many complex layers on it. There are some drugs abuse issue on heroine's past. There are a lot of steamy sex scenes. But what really stole my attention is the meet cute between Lennon and Noah. And I do agree that Noah is suppose to be sweet, swoony name for a hero. But instead we have a little dark, sexy, brooding hero.
Noah is a single father. He was burned once with his ex lover in the past. He swore off romance after that until his motorbike clashes with Lennon's car on a fateful night. Their 'accident' turns out to be meet cute. Lennon is portrays as kick ass heroine who does not wait for the hero to ask her out. She done it herself. But toward the end of the book, she becomes very needy and whinny. That's what I like less about this book.
Overall I do enjoy this book OK on a lazy afternoon.
"His lips crash against mine in a first kiss to end all first kisses. Teeth nipping, tongues searching, frenzied hands grabbing, it's better than anything I've ever experienced."
"Something happens inside my heart, inside my soul. Something I've never felt before. Something I want to keep feeling."
"I will make this right. I will fight for you because you two are mine." "You'll always be mine, and I'm not going to walk away from that. I'm not going to walk away from you, because I love you."
The Truth About Lennon has captured my heart and given me all of the feels. I was swept away in Lennon's story from the moment I started reading. From the first interaction between Lennon and Noah, I just had a feeling; a feeling that this book was going to knock my socks off. And boy did it ever.
Noah and Lennon were a force to be reckoned with. Lennon wanted nothing more than to escape the life she was living. She just wanted to be herself and not who everyone thought she should be. She wasn't looking for love, but fate had other plans when Noah crashed into her life....Noah has been burned by love before and his focus for the last few years has been him being the very best father he could be. He didn't do relationships and only cared about his daughter's happiness. But, of course, fate had other plans. Lennon blew into his life and turned it completely upside down. She reminded him what it was like to live and to finally take something for himself. The two of them were an unstoppable force. It was only a matter of time before these two took a leap toward something amazing.
The road to happily ever after was not an easy one for Noah and Lennon. When the truth comes out about Lennon, who she is and why she left home, their relationship will be put to the ultimate test. Questions will be asked and truths will be tested. All you can do is just hold on and hope that the love these two share is strong enough to weather any storm.
The Truth About Lennon is brilliantly written and completely memorizing. I devoured this book in just one sitting, absorbing every single word. I got lost and swept up in Lennon and Noah's story. I fell for them instantly and could not wait to see just how their story was going to play out. And their story....It. Was. Everything. It was everything that I could want in a KL Grayson novel and gave me so many feels. In the end, I was left with the biggest smile on my face and a love story that I won't be forgetting anytime soon.
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
Running away from the scandal, gossips, glitz and glamour and endless BS in her life, Lennon Barrick St. James was happy to go to Texas and lay low for a while. She thought it would be temporary until love came crashing down on her, literally (she buldozed Noah on their first meet).
Noah Cunningham, a single parent has serious relationship issues because of his former lover. But Lennon broke down any walls that he built and she also managed to snag his daughter into falling in love with her. How their relationship progressed was the part where I really loved, it was falling in love at its finest. Sneaking out like horny teenagers on the bleaches while star gazing, kissing like crazy, hot sex and oh yeah pancakes. lol.
Well all great stories needed to have a rough patch, Lennon kept her secret afraid that Noah will leave her for it. Lennon got arrested for drug possesion and Noah flipped so fast he ran out the other way stat. Coward. It broke my heart for some people to be close minded at first, Lennon kept begging and she even had a whole page in the book where she laid it all out, but still they broke up.
Well eventually Noah got the stick out his ass, don't ask how cause it'll be no fun when you'll read it. Want a story that'll make you laugh, fall in love, cry, and fall in love all over again? You got this book. This book contains a DILF, an HEA, definitely hot sex stuff and an awesome love story.
I’m so pissed off mad right now, I even don’t wanna rate it. I reached my hard limit when I read 2,5 chapters how the heroine begged the hero to forgive her, she literally begged him! How she told him she would spend the rest of her life proving to him that she was worth him -> and all this because she didn’t tell him about her f*cked up family and her arrest (that was set up) after knowing him for short time and obviously deeply caring for him and his daughter? Ok, she did a mistake, I agree; but he turned her down; this coward didn’t want to talk to her, didn’t give her a chance to explain. He just turned his back on her. Arrrggghhh! And then I read his grovel (after he came back to his senses by founding out she paid for his bike) for about 5 lines and she forgave him immediately. Like for real?! And she even apologised again. Like really? Are you kidding me?!
Nothing against writing. It was good.

I don’t normally read romance books when one of the main characters is a single parent. But I’m kind of glad I gave this book a chance. I really liked Lennon, she was sweet and nice. I didn’t care much for Noah, honestly.
This is such a sweet story. It takes off in the very beginning and moves at a very quick pace. I enjoyed these characters immensely!
Noah can pretty much be summed up in one word, WOW. Not kidding this guy is amazing. Too sexy for words, hard working, single dad and as sweet as the day is long. Dear lord he's my kryptonite!
Lennon is a tad more complex. She's leaving her charmed (or not so charmed) life behind to avoid hindering her Dads campaign but also to gain some clarity. She needs the separation to spread her wings and make a move in a direction better suited for her. I like Lennon a lot. She's a tough girl with a heart of gold and a past that could tear her to shreds if she lets it. These two together are off the charts hot, fun and enjoyable to follow. Mark your tbr you won't want to miss them!
I was amazed by how fast this book took over my thoughts and feelings, and I didn’t realize just how much I really loved it until I reached the end. This story is everything a reader hopes for and has all the feel-goods included when the uptown girl crashes into small town Texas hunk. And it’s sure to put a smile on your face.
The book blurb gives readers a perfect glimpse of what's behind the cover. I’ll not spoil the rest of your fun.
Second chances at love really do happen. But things don’t always take the easy road. And times get a bit rocky and full of bumps and bruises when all is unveiled between Noah and Lennon. There must be some angst to set the passion afire, or so it seems with romance.
Readers will find that this one is fast-paced, yet sweet and easy, super-sexy and endearing in a beautifully balanced emotional explosion. Get ready for Lennon and Noah to steal your heart! This story sizzles and wows right to the dazzling end.
And I triple loved the name Lennon for our heroine. It just fit perfectly! And as heroes go, Noah ain't bad either in all respects! In fact, I'm betting he's going to get an A+ rating on the super hunk scale.
STORY Lennon is a former child star, her father is running for vice president and her mother is an award winning actress. After a media debacle, Lennon‘s father’s PR team encourages her to go somewhere to lay low. Detesting the limelight, just wanting to sew & design, Lennon doesn’t need much encouragement. She ends up in Heaven, Texas, population 10,000, where she’s the only woman with hair extensions. Her first day there, Lennon runs a motorcyclist off the road. When he removes his helmet, sparks fly and the rest is romance history!!!
As boring as I just made that sound, THE TRUTH ABOUT LENNON is a really entertaining, enjoyable story! Aside from a few “coincidences“ making things easier for the author, I was impressed by everything in this book! There’s a little bit of drama since Lennon hides her true identity, but other than that, there’s not a lot of unnecessary, ridiculous drama. The characters are fun and the sex is smoking hot!
PERFORMANCE I listened to the Audible audiobook narrated by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. I was a bit skeptical when Ms. Kennicott mispronounced COIFFED on the first page, but I soon forgot about that because she is an amazingly actress! The amount of emotion she puts into each and every word… It was truly remarkable! Although I didn’t love the voice she used for the child or the “best friend” Lizzie, there is no denying that she put on one of the most realistic, believable performances I’ve ever heard, and I’ve listened to hundreds of audiobooks! Ross is also a superstar narrator. He to does an amazing job of altering his voice to differentiate between characters and does so in a consistently believable way. Both delivered 5-star performances and are narrators I will actively seek out again.
This is a fun, lighthearted, humorous love story between opposites with just enough emotional turmoil and angst to keep you interested.
Lennon Barrick-St. James has left her life as a New York socialite to get away from bad press and to decompress in small town, Heaven Texas. She runs into Noah Cunningham as soon as she comes into town and their "meet cute" is not so cute nor are his initial reaction to her. He's the King of mixed signals. There is a lot of push and pull until he finally admits the problem.
Lennon is trying to step away from the controlled, superficial life she used to lead. She wants to be away from her family's expectations and the shadow of her last break up. She has dreams of becoming a designer and seamstress. She is kind, compassionate, sweet, funny, and stubborn. This is her journey of trying to embrace who she really wants to be.
Noah is a local and fully entrenched in his small town where everyone knows everyone else. He can be broody, resistant, and has walls up. But he has his reasons. But when he lets his guard down and is vulnerable and honest, he can be tender, caring, sexy, and downright swoony. He is a man that once he makes a decision, then he goes all in.
They begin to forge an easy going relationship that progresses pretty fast. They've got a fun rapport and good chemistry. They feel right and make each other happier than they ever expected. But Lennon's still got some secrets. And Noah values honesty since he has been burned before, and he also has obligations that have to be a priority.
This is one of those books that you are coasting along in happy, sexy La La land, but you just know something bad is coming. And you are afraid to see how it is all going to come out and what the fall-out will be. This book is sexy, sweet, romantic, with just enough angst and drama. It deals with honesty, trust, and being willing to take risks and fight for love. It is really Lennon's story of trying to find her true self and where she belongs in the world. But it is also about Noah trying to finally move on from his own past and look towards the future.
The side characters really added to the story. I loved Nova and their relationships with her. Their friends, Charlotte and Mikey were great sounding boards and motivators while also adding humor. His family was wonderful, while hers made me want to slap them. But it all worked to bring more depth and drama to the story.
It was easy to get attached to these characters and become immersed in their story. Lennon and Noah were just so good together and so compatible despite their differences. The beginning had me laughing, then it became more sexy and heartwarming, and by the end I had experienced a bunch of different emotions. But it kind of makes me want to live in Heaven, Texas and hang out with this group.
This was a sweet and steamy single dad romance. There is quite a bit of instalove between our hero and heroine, but they have great chemistry which made for some very sexy times. Noah was an incredible father, who always put his daughter's happiness and well being above anyone elses. As we learn about his past, it becomes clear why he is so resistant to relationships and opening up his heart again. He does overreact and make some poor decisions, but he truly believes it is for the best. It took me a bit to warm up to Lennon and though her heart was often in the right place, I did find her quite selfish, especially with her one-sided friendship with Charlotte and with her knowingly keeping secrets from Noah. I understand that she wanted him to know the real her, but the drama seemed contrived since she really did have plenty of opportunities to come clean and explain before everything hit the fan. In the end, this was still an entertaining read and I definitely recommend the audiobook narrated by Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott if you have the chance to listen to it.
I really loved this book and couldn't put it down. Lennon Barrick-St. James made headlines in NY and embarrassed her VP running dad. Now she flees to a small town in Texas called Heaven and it is here where she finds her heaven and also, Noah Cunningham. After almost mowing him down while he was on his motorcycle, lying that she was his fiancee to see him in the hospital and coming to care for him in his injured state she learns he is also her new neighbor.
Noah is an ass to her from the start. Wasn't even because of the accident, It was because she made him feel...again. He has a girl in his life and feels she is the only one he needs. His daughter. Slowly thought Lennon breaks down his walls and he watches the way she is with his daughter and she is with her. Then he learns about her lies, her secrets and it all comes crashing down.
Will they be able to move past it or will lies end what was once a HEA for all?
Loved the characters, the story, the lil twist it had. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend this book to all!
This is a sweet, fun, small town Texas meets socialite New York read, as Lennon has left the city in order to keep her head down and let a media storm blow over. She is used to being watched, but isn’t used to having mistakes plastered across the news, nor is her politician father happy with her choices. A small town seems like the perfect place to hide until someone else steps into the media’s attention. She was planning to avoid men and keep her head down, and wasn’t expecting to run into (nearly literally) a hot, tattooed, biker on her first day in town.
Noah and Lennon have great chemistry. Though their initial meeting is not smooth, and Noah is rightly angered at her arrival in town, Lennon’s persistence wins her points as she works to gain forgiveness for her actions.
I really enjoyed both of their relationships with Nova. It was sweet to watch Lennon bond with her. The way Nova helped Noah see more about Lennon said the world about what both adults thought about Nova. The other side characters also added to the story. I loved Charlotte and Mikey. As friends to each Lennon and Noah, these two were the best sidekicks, supports, and shoulders to this couple.
Though Lennon is being forced to lay low by her father, I love the way she really embraced small town life. Though she doesn’t realize at first just how fast news travels, she finds the quiet she had always wished for and worked to make it hers.
This was one of those reads though where things seem to be going along just fine at a pace that makes you realize something big is coming. And when it hit, I was shocked right alongside the characters. Their struggles were real and honest, and it hurt to watch them fight feelings they (and we) didn’t see coming.
This book left me smiling and feeling warm fuzzies, but to get there it had its share of heartbreak and frustration. The drama level was just perfect to keep the pages turning without raising my frustration level with character actions. Each of these two have their reasons for their reactions, and own up to their choices, but there are always unintended consequences of even the most conscious choices.
I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Don't you love when your first read by a new to you author is a fabulous read? This is of course a huge kudos to Grayson as my genres of choice range from mafia to dark!
How could I not love this story? Lennon is such a strong heroine and Noah complement her in every way! I absolutely love how they meet! Who in tarnation does THAT??!!! LOL! From that moment I knew this couple would give me "feels" I rarely admit to...at least publicly!
I highly recommend this story. It's definitely a "must finish in one sitting" read! Once done, join the campaign to "find your Noah" LOL!!
When I'm in the mood for a lighter book with lots of romance, KL Grayson is a go to for me. So I wasn't surprised that that's what I got with The Truth About Lennon.
Lennon is escaping a difficult situation at home, and finds herself in Heaven, Texas, where she meets- after a little mishap- Noah Cunningham. Noah is trying to raise his daughter, and doesn't have the time or energy to invest in any sort of relationship. But sometimes those are the best kinds.
Noah and Lennon are great for each other. They balance each other out, and grow throughout the story. And you can't help but fall for Noah's little girl!
This was quite enjoyable! I definitely recommend this!
KL is one of my favorite authors so it wasn't a surprise that she made me fall in love with her characters yet again. She writes the most relatable and lovable book boyfriends and heroines.
The relationship between Noah and Nova was my favorite part! They captured my heart from the minute they were introduced.
If you are looking for your next book boyfriend, look no further. Noah is it! Hot, hot, hot!!!
KL, you have a gift! I look forward to every piece of work you put out into the book universe! <3
Big City Socialite meets small town mechanic. Lennon is taking some much needed time away and laying low from the drama in her high profile life. She escapes to Heaven, Texas where she accidentally runs brooding, sexy Noah Cunningham off the road. Lennon feels horrible and goes out of her way to try to make things up to Noah. There's an instant attraction from the beginning but Noah's walls are up high from being burned from a previous relationship and left to raise his daughter alone. He's bound and determined to be alone but as he spends more time with Lennon slowly the walls come tumbling down. He falls even harder after seeing how good Lennon is with his little girl. Lennon knows she should tell Noah about her past and she will but the times just not right yet. What will happen when Noah finds out the truth about Lennon?! L I loved Noah and Lennon's story!! This book definitely will have you laughing, sad and oh so happy!! This is my first read by K. L. Grayson and I'll definitely be reading more by her! I listened to the audible version and Kai and Wen did an awesome job as always!! I listened to it straight through in one day!!
Lennon St. James and Noah Cunningham meet in a pretty unconventional way. I love a story that can make me laugh and swoon right from the start.
Lennon has been handed a bad deal. I love her spunkiness, sass and resilience. She’s fighting for her place in the world.
Noah doesn’t trust especially not women. He is moody and grumpy and downright mean at times but very sexy. His best quality is his devotion to his daughter, Nova. She is a cutie.
Charlotte is the best friend every woman needs. Mikey is the support every guy needs. It’s an added bonus when the side characters give more to the story.
With the right combination of words, the vulnerability is evident in both Lennon and Noah. Their attraction sizzles. The pace was easy and sweet. I was absolutely immersed in their story. The Truth About Lennon was a very enjoyable read.
I've read KL from book one. I fell in love with her writing immediately! I have to say this is her best book to date! I'm in love with Lennon and Noah! Noah is everything and I mean everything we want in a man! He is going to be your next BBF!!
Lennon and Noah meet by accident and try out the friends deal. The both realize that friends won't do. They have chemistry that we all want to see in our own relationships.
I am in love with this book! And I hope we get a little more of them and a boo with Mike and Charlotte!
Despite the almost insta-love and the quick feelings this book is probably one of the sweetest romances I have read in a long time. I've had many disappointments in this genre recently and was about to give up on it altogether until I found this.
Lennon is simply adorable. She is kind hearted, a bit naive, but ultimately sweet. Noah is equally as kind and a protective single dad of a lovely daughter. Noah is a regular mechanic while Lennon is holding back the truth of who she is and who her very well known parents are. She is also running away from a bad media situation.
I love Noah and Lennon. The story is simple and sweet and easy to read. The writing style is perfect and the steamy scenes are tasteful and well written. Can't wait to pick up another book by this author.
Omg! This was my first book by this author and it was so beautifully written. I was hooked from the beginning . I immediately fell in love with Lennon, Noah and Nova. Actually all the characters were amazing. Lennon hides a little secret from Noah about who she really is. Will it ruin their relationship or is their relationship strong enough to endure it and move on? Beautiful, steamy, amazing characters, wonderful story line. As always Kai & Wen did such a great job narrating and bringing not only the characters but, also the book to life. Looking forward to more books by this author.
Audio review: The Truth About Lennon is a beautiful love story with a bit of angst. Secrets revealed splashdown on the narrative creating a mix of vibes. Character's are compelling and loveable, except for Lennon's mom. I adored Noah's daughter Nova and Noah's determination to put his daughter first and foremost above himself and others. The writing style is engaging.
Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross duet narration performance was perfect. I absolutely loved their performance together and the creative style of performing.
Overall a fun listen with a scrumptious narration.
I pretty sure I have yet to read a KL Grayson book I have not loved. Her writing in this book was so good. The feels you get from the way her characters interact, the chemistry that is dripping from each page, and the love story that you will read is outright AMAZING.
I loved everything about this book. Beginning , Middle and End! It was perfect and will probably end up on the top of my must read list of 2017! It is that great.
Lennon is such a great character, she makes me want to be a better person. I loved her heart. I loved how the author gave her such soul and love. Noah, this man is a little grumpy at first. But as the book progresses the way he is... Is just perfect. Everyone who reads this book will add him to their top book boyfriend list.
Lennon and Noah's meeting was kind of funny. Their story is swoon worthy. Even the up and downs was the perfect angst to a fantastic ending.
The Truth About Lennon is that book that will make you melt, shiver and just beg for more!! Yes, melting you with every word!! God I adored Lennon and Noah story! It’s what romance novels should be like! Just soul superb in every sense of the word! AAA+++++
