The fast-paced excitement of the acclaimed romance GROUPIE continues with its sequel.
*******
Sometimes in the midst of heartbreak, a MUSE is born.

The show must go on. Even as country superstar Jack Morgan and his physical therapist, Lexie Travis, nurse their shattered hearts while on tour. Despite her best efforts, she had fallen for the one man she swore she wouldn’t. Their newfound happiness slipped away when one fateful decision led to one rash retaliation.

They continue the tour together in hopes of one day becoming friends again—if they can get over the awkwardness that now consumes each day. Jackson is sure he can win her back at first, but worries she would never be happy in his complicated world.

Each state they travel across brings new challenges and new chances for redemption. The realm of dance and choreography lures Lexie back, as Jack continues to write new songs and make changes to his concerts, inspired by his muse.

The addition of opening act, Travis McCoy, brings a rival for Lexie’s attention. Her fateful decision to go on a date with him may change her reality forever. As Jack tries to find his way back to Lexie—and to keep her away from McCoy—questions continue to surface about his past and the secrets he keeps in his notebook.

Is their promising love enough to conquer the obstacles in their path to achieve the happy ending they deserve?

****MUSE completes the Groupie series (awarded the Readers’ Favorite Five Star Seal) with the ending you’ve all been waiting for!

PRAISE FOR GROUPIE (VOLUME ONE):
"Fans of Colleen Hoover will definitely enjoy Groupie. When it comes to exploring a character's emotions, Susan Daugherty hit the nail on the head. I felt the fear, the excitement, and the love between Lexie and Jack. Both characters have been scared by the past and are scared to commit, but as they get to know each other better, their friendship turns into something more meaningful. This book is filled with "awww"-inspiring sweet moments and nail biting suspense (sometimes more than I could take). I especially loved that it still managed to convey the romantic atmosphere without the overblown sex scenes so prevalent in romance books nowadays. The book ends in a cliffhanger, but was totally worth the read. I can't wait to read the conclusion of Lexie and Jack's story in Muse."
-Maureen Dangarembizi for Readers' Favorite

"It was one of those stories that gripped me right from page one and kept me reading all the way through. The plot was very well thought out, as well as a great story, Ms. Daugherty provided plenty of background about the characters, giving them substance. It as a fun story, one that tugged at the heart strings a little as the relationship developed between the two main characters, despite everything that seemed to be against it ever happening. This is an incredibly well written book, with a story that has been designed to draw a reader in and hold their interest. I, for one, couldn't put it down and I am looking forward to reading book 2."
-Readers' Favorite Book Review by Anne-Marie Reynolds

"What a wild ride! Two broken souls brought together and thrown together and back apart over and over again. This book is so amazing as they help each other heal in many ways. I haven't felt that much angst since I was a teenager myself."

"I enjoyed being apart of their world as I was reading this contemporary romance about touringwith a musical band. Groupie: Volume 1 is highly recommended."

Groupie Book Club Discussion Questions:
1.The quote from the Morrisons plays an important role. "The secret is not finding the perfect someone you can live with, it is finding the imperfect one you cannot live without."
Do you believe in this quote yourself? How do you feel it affected Lexie throughout the book?

2. Lexie judges Jack by his image as a celebrity. We know this is often the work of tabloids, gossip, PR stunts and image creation for Hollywood. It is also widely accepted that celebrity comes with a price. Do you have these pre-conceived notions of some celebrities and it is fair for Lexie to have judged him?

3.The author considers the soundtrack to this novel to be a very important layer to the story. Did you identify with the music and what role did it play for you and the emotions of the novel?

4 .As readers learn more about Lexie's past with her parents and boyfriends, how did you think these experiences shaped her views on love and commitment?

5.The author found the Ashley's character essential to the novel. Did you connect with the best friend and why do you think her role was vital?

6.The author's desired to keep the sexual scenes in this book at a 'sweet' level- did the book succeed in giving romance, angst and butterflies without being explicit?

7.The supporting cast brought a variety of personality to the novel. Some were friend and some were foe. Who stood out to you and why?

8.What as your favorite scene in the book?

9. What was your favorite line in the book?

10.Lexie's underlying issue is lack of self esteem and her loss of confidenceafter the alterations in her life. This makes her feel unworthy of Jack andlove in general. Do you think most girls can identify with this at someage/stage of their life? How can it cause a ripple effect in their choices?

11. At the end of Volume One, Lexie has made a decision to choose work/career over a relationship. Is it a valid problem for women today? Did she just use this as an excuse to end things before she got hurt or did she truly feel she had no choice?

12. Jack retaliated to hurt Lexie after she ended their romance. Who was most at fault? If you were in each person's shoes, could you forgive?

Biography:
I'll be the first to admit: I may have a little war going on between my right brain and left brain.
My entire life, I loved to read voraciously and write story after story. I won the English Dept scholarship at my high school... then I promptly went into the Sciences at the University of Kentucky. I had fallen in love with physical therapy and I made it my career.
I absolutely love my PT profession and all the years that I have invested in treating patients....but something always nagged in my head that said I should let my creative side loose as well. I needed to get back to WRITING!
I sat down and wrote my novel, Groupie in a six month time frame on a Netbook- I kid you not. That's a tiny laptop, y'all. It was so long that I wound up with two books and Groupie was a series!
Now, I have the best of both worlds so both sides of my brain are happy. .
Aside from those two jobs, I'm raising a husband and two children! Luckily, I thrive on multi-tasking and it all works out in our crazy life.
I love all things Southern, lifelong friendships, date nights, and reading my kids to sleep.

NOTE: This is my exact same review which I posted for book 1 because I simply couldn't review book 1 on it's own. ❤️😊

Reasons why I loved these 2 books:
> It's a slow burn, sweet, clean, and low-angst love story between a country music star and his physical therapist. I am such a fan of the rockstar/music star-who-falls-in-love-with-a-"muggle" or a normal human being. I am also a fan of slow-burn stories. The 2-books span the course of a little over 4 months and Lexie and Jack's romance also builds progressively, from friendship to everlasting love.

> I loved reading about the every day details of life while on tour as I'm a fan of learning about the behind the scenes stuff.

> I loved that Lexie had some insecurities about herself and imo, her worries about getting together with Jack were very authentic. I could totally relate to her.

> I loved that this was not an insta-lust book. I hate books that are all about the sex and the story is an afterthought written to fit around the smut. This is so NOT the case with this story. This is not to say that the book is lacking romance --- because gosh, there are so many heart-tugging, swoony moments.

> I loved how Jack courted Lexie. I would die if someone did the things Jack did for her. ❤️❤️❤️ Jack is definitely on my list of fave book boyfriends.

> I loved that there are many details about their PT sessions. Susan Daugherty is a PT herself and her knowledge about the subject was clear in the book. This, imo, made Lexie's character more authentic, more real. I also loved the PT details mainly because I've had the same injury that Jack did and so reading about all the PT explanations was very interesting to me because it was all so familiar and I could relate to what was happening in the story.

> I loved reading the song lyrics of Jack's songs!

Both books are definitely going on my re-read shelf!

***
Reasons why I think others might NOT like these 2 books:
> Like I said, this book is a s-l-o-w burn and clean... as in super slow and almost Sweet Dreams clean... as in no there's virtually no profanity and no sex happens until book 2 and when they finally "get it on", it's only alluded to, so please be warned. It's so clean and sweet that I'd totally be comfortable if my 14/15 yr old niece read the books.

> As I mentioned above, the author takes you on an almost daily journey of the tour. She goes into a lot of details about Jack's PT and what Lexie and Jack do in a day (i.e. what they eat, the cities they visit, his meetings/rehearsals/schedule). Others may find this dragging/boring but I liked reading about all the minutiae... and that could also be a matter of personal preference: as knowing about the behind the scenes stuff is totally my jam. 👍🏻☺️

I loved this book! Started it yesterday afternoon and was up unit almost 2AM to finish! It's the sequel to the book Groupie and picks up where the other left off in a gut punch cliffhanger. The main characters were well developed and their progression felt realistic. I really enjoyed the supporting cast and how they were woven into the story with purpose. Not a huge country music fan, but I'd definitely bust out my cowgirl boots for Jack!

The best movie I ever read.

Hey Hollywood!!!
Wake up!! We need to talk.
You haven't really been making anything iconic lately.
I mean let's be honest, can you remember being moved to tears by ANYTHING you saw on screen in 2016?
Exactly.
Well you can think of Susan Daugherty as the golden goose, and I'm sure you can surmise what that makes this book right?
From the extraordinary details on city's, the medical and music industry's, to the lack of vulgarities and over blown graphic sex scenes and polished up with an award winning soundtrack, THIS IS THE MOVIE we all want to see.
Men, Women, Couples, teens, professionals, dreamers, the little guy, the shy girl, the guy's guy, the deep thinkers, the fighters, the friends, the musicians and fans, the cynical and the romantic. There is a relatable character in here for just about everyone. Yet they all blend so seamlessly together as the author weaves them all together into a breathtaking world that you have a hard time thinking that they are not real. I half expect to turn on my radio and find Jack singing.
That's my kind of movie. The kind that resonates with generation after generation. This is your iconic epic love story of the ages. The one you have been dying to find.
Oh, but I just want to go on record by saying its going to be hard to meet the expectations of anyone who read Groupie/Muse. This is one of those rare magical journeys that you need to go on with the characters, lending time to stop and process the last few chapters before you can move on to the next scene.
That's hard to replicate. So you will undoubtedly have to live with hearing "the book was better" regardless of how spectacular the movie is.
It's just that good.
So come on, come on. Snap to it! There is a movie to make.
Hey don't take my word for it, read it yourself.
Unless you would rather make a little wager.
You win, you get to make the movie,
I win, you still get to make the movie but you gotta cast John Goodman as Charlie and Meghan Fox as Delilah.
Oh and Steve Tyler duets at the end and during the credits with Jack.
So let's get down to it. Normally I would use cards ,dice, or even flip a coin, but Lexie and Jack have inspired me.......
How good are you at Words With Friends?

This story...I can't get enough and I can't believe it's over!

The turbulent romance of Lexie and Jackson continues in Muse, in enticing Groupie fashion, keeping the reader up late into the night in a relentless quest to reach the end and find out what happens!

Muse picks up right where Groupie left off and from page one the reader is once again hooked by the drama. As Muse progresses, we learn more about the character's pasts and grow even more invested in their lives and tenuous relationship. Part of the magic in books comes from their ability to transport you into a different world—a different life. Muse manages to be both sexy and sweet, soft and passionate, frustrating and endearing, heart-wrenching and uplifting, leaving you feeling like maybe you really were part of this relationship and that all of the things happening to the characters are somehow happening to you as well.

Muse will leave you in tears. It will make you smile. It will warm your heart and make you want to scream. Most of all it will leave you anxiously awaiting Daugherty's next irresistible novel.

The second book in the two part Groupie series gives the reader just what they want! After their tumultuous romance crashed at the end of the first novel, we get to witness Lexie and Jack navigate new waters and find their way back to each other. As they travel to new states, they cross new challenges and learn so much more about each other and themselves. Travis McCoy is a new addition that everyone will love to hate, as the opening act vies for Lexie's affection. He brings a whole new dimension to the novel and helps Lexie and Jack to reunite after a shattering event. The reader get to find out about Jack's past heartbreak that led to his change in music, which makes him even more lovable! Lexie continues to inspire Jack's greatest music as a soundtrack to their love story is formed. Readers will absolutely love the ending!!

I was so looking forward to reading the end of the Groupie series. I was stunned, upset then over-joyed. Susan Daugherty did everything in her power to make us think that there was no way for them to find their way back to each other only to give us an ending to die for!

Lexie and Travis had their ups and downs throughout this tour. The downs are winning the race and Lexie’s suggestion that they see other people only brings the story down a little more. But, it’s her date that finally gets her to see what is really in front of her and what she could have if she could just believe in her heart and true love.

Travis keeps writing, he keeps playing that 2nd to last song as tributes to her but can’t seem to get through to Lexie. He knows that she feels something but there is nothing that he can do if she doesn’t want to admit it. He’ll do whatever it takes to protect her, take care of her and prove to her that he only wants one Groupie.

Bringing her on tour also woke up the creative side in Lexie and, when Travis invites her to truly join them, there’s nothing that she wants more. Now, she really is a part of Jack Morgan’s tour and there may not be anything that she won’t do to overcome her fears.

The music continued … music that I loved. The lyrics Jack wrote for Lexie were true and beautiful. His career has taken off and now, so has Lexie’s.

Who would have ever thought that I would absolutely love and adore a story with “implied” sex … but I did. There was no reason for the author to write anything other than that since their love for each other was shining through. This two-book series was a true romance. I loved being in Nashville with them (my dream vacation spot) and I loved how she incorporated friends and family throughout the story. I was truly impressed with the writing style and story-telling abilities of Susan Daugherty and look forward to more from this new author.

So, here is my final challenge to Mrs. Daugherty … I want a little novella. I want to go to the wedding … I want to see what Ashley does to Kenny Chesney … I want to know if the video wins at the ACM’s … and, finally, I think Lexie deserves to choreograph a dance for Luke Bryan’s “MOVE”.

How did I become a #groupie to this two book series? I knew when I finished reading Groupie a few months ago, I would fall for Muse. Susan Daugherty is a great author and brings so much life and emotions into her characters. I finally had a chance to read Muse out of my personal TBR list. I hardly get a chance to do that as a blogger. It was so refreshing to start where we left off. Muse leaves you with an everlasting impression and these characters forever are in my heart. I finished this book in less than 24 hours because it was that good! You know that feeling where you are trapped in the world of the story. I still have it! I was smiling like a goon at my Kindle and my family probably thought I was a little crazy. I couldn't help it and did a snort laugh a time or two and got that side eye glance from my husband. I even was reading some parts to him because I wanted to share this story!

Jack is still my country babe. I love the journey he is taking ever since Lexie came into his life. Lexie still keeps him at arms length. We have a new character in this book that replaces Delilah's act. His name is Travis and I wanted to poke his eyes out with a fork! I was so mad at him and cussed him out like a sailor. The rest of the band shows us how close they are and more of a family. I loved Jack's vulnerability and wanted Lexie to open her eyes and see what she has in front of her is real. I was so afraid she would push him away for good.

Muse has a lot of drama and scary moments you feel like you can not breath. You are high and then low on emotions. I loved the ending and wished there was more. This book brings up the heat with the intimacy. I am telling you all, this book whipped out all the emotions and I am sure there were times you saw hearts in my eyes! If I could give this book 10 stars, I would in a heartbeat.

4.5 Stars!

***This cannot be read as a standalone***

The conclusion to the Groupie Duet was pretty amazing! The book picks up right where Groupie (Book 1) left off - with Jackson and Lexi agreeing to work on their friendship after their romance blew up. Lexi still has three months left on her contract to help Jackson rehab after his accident. As you can imagine, their road is pretty rocky. There are stupid agreements, potential new love interests, arguments and a whole lot of denial.

Lexi is a physical therapist and in book one Daugherty got kind of technical in her descriptions of Jackson's therapy sessions. She toned that down a lot in this book and put more focus on the relationship between Lexi and Jackson. That was a great improvement; however, in my day job, I work as a nurse, so I can understand the writing what you know thing and the temptation to be too technical. I certainly don't fault her for that. I was more than pleased at the focus on the characters and their development in Muse. Not only did Daugherty write a great romance, but she flawed the characters making them believable. Jackson wasn't a typical book playboy music star. He had such a huge heart and he tried so hard with Lexi. Lexi had difficult decisions to make and yet she was stubborn and so caught up in her own head. I think we can all admit to that at some point.

My very favorite thing about this book (and series) was the 2nd to last song of the night. Sorry... you'll have to read it to find out what I mean.

Take a chance on this new author and read this lovely, romantic, amazing duet about a country music star and the woman he falls in love with.

Muse was the second part of a duo from Susan Daughtery. Part one which is groupie ends in a definite cliffhanger. While I did give Muse a four star I didn't love every part of this book. I felt like I did with the first installment that there was too much daily details about the couples day. Every single day was listed out and I felt that could of been shortened. If someone is looking for a hot steamy read with adult commentary this isn't it. They end up sleeping together but there is absolutely no detail which was a little disappointing. I often feel the sexy parts furthers the love story. They don't even swear all that much so this was definitely a departure from what I am used too.

Jackson and Lexie meet in the first book and Lexie ends up being Jackson's on tour Doctor. Muse starts off mid tour and the two of them are struggling and at a rough patch. The second book definitely had a bit of angst between them and a ton of denial about their feelings towards each other. There is some suspense and side characters that will definitely cause you to be shocked at certain points.

What saved this book for me was the endearing song book that Jackson had of songs he's writing while on tour. Lexie eventually gets to read it and its amazing. Not sure how long that took the author but the telling of their story in song was pretty amazing. I loved that and how Jackson dedicated a song to her every night on tour. Just some great swoon worthy moments I have never seen in any of the books I've read before. Definitely pick this up if you would love a sweet love story with a country twist.

Muse: by Susan Daugherty is the second installment in the Groupie Duet.
Muse is not a stand alone. I recommend to read Groupie, book one, first.

Muse picks up where Groupie ends.
Jackson Morgan, country music super star and Dr. Lexie Travis are on tour. She´s his physical therapist and tends to his injury.
They started a relationship- sort of- but Lexie brook up, she doesn´t believe true love and HEA exists. Then Jackson makes a colossal mistake. She finds him with two groupies and her world crumbles. She´s devastated. Jack is more than sorry. But can she jump over her own shadow?

They would be so good together, but their worlds are too different.
Jackson is a good man and slowly he convinces Lexie to believe in their love and HEA.

Muse is a sweet romance novel which I greatly enjoyed reading. I loved Groupie, book one, and couldn´t wait to read Muse. And I love Muse, the conclusion of Jackson and Lexie´s story too.
I give 5 Stars and thank you Susan Daugherty .

A sequel that lives up to all my expectations! I'm so thrilled with the ending of the book and how well the whole plot fell together. The beginning picks us right back up where Groupie left off. The angst is nail-biting as I love watching this couple quip back and forth and try to figure out if they are meant to be together. There are some great additions this time as well. Lexie rekindles a love for dance and it's fantastic to watch her self esteem return as she becomes comfortable with herself again. Travis was the perfect villain to throw in the mix as he is someone readers will love to hate and provides some amazing emotional moments in the novel. The slow burn builds beautifully and the end is epic! The music that appears to be songs written for the book are amazing and I can hear them in my head and wish they were on the radio! Highly recommend this series!!

WOW! The ending was even better than I hoped for! The sequel really lived up my expectations after Groupie. Even better was getting to know more about Jack's past (keep tissues nearby!), reading the songs that he wrote (amazing- we need a soundtrack stat!) and also the terrifying situation the Lexie survives to alter the path of the story (I had white knuckles!). This all adds up to a fabulous book that made me turn pages quickly to see what happens next... but also not want it to end because I will miss this book and these characters!!

I think it says a lot when I finish reading book 1 right before going to sleep and instead of going to sleep, I boot up my computer so I can buy book 2 to read on the way to work! Book 1 ended on a cliffhanger. While I hate cliffhangers, I understand why the book was broken up into two parts.

Book 2 begins exactly where the first one ends. It shows us how Jack and Lexie are figuring out what their relationship is after that huge blowup between them. The waters are murky and it seems like they are walking on eggshells around each other. But somehow they slowly find their groove... or maybe just a playlist to their relationship journey in this case.

Enter the competition. Jack is really quite unhappy about the whole situation. But it is that same situation that brings them back together to try and figure out their mutual attraction to each other and where they want the relationship to go.

So of coz after two books we get a HEA and a beautiful playlist that I will go and google to find out the lyrics. I'm sure its absolutely apt.

Wow

I loved this 2 book series!
*may contain spoilers, possibly?*

I like the way this ended but I do wish that the author told us whether or not the main characters moved in together, got in trouble with the main bosses, and if they have a baby in the future? I want them to have a baby! lol

Just when I thought it couldn't get better than Groupie! The sequel delivered everything I was hoping for. The palpable chemistry of Jack and Lexie only got better as the heat level (though still tasteful so that I can share this book with anyone) as they finally work their way back to each other. The addition of Travis gave us a new bad boy to hate- he was perfect in his role as I felt the terror of one particular scene. The original songs that Jack writes are unbelievable! This book needs its own soundtrack. I loved every minute and couldn't stop reading until I got to that ending that blows all others out of the water. 5 stars!!

Amazing novel! A definite "must read"!!

Groupie & Muse were absolutely fantastic books! I loved them from page one. Lexie and Jack's story continues in this book with more ups and downs and a whirlwind of emotions during the remainder or his band's tour. The characters' backgrounds were expanded upon even more which made them even more endearing. Both Jackson & Lexie's lives changed so much and they both grew up a lot over a short four months.
This book had me laughing and crying and worried and happy. It was darn near a perfect book. And the ending...total swoon!! Loved, loved, loved it! I hope Susan continues writing! If this first venture for her turned out this well, just imagine what her future works could be like! Wow!

I read "Groupie" two months ago and liked it, although it didn't satisfy me much because the build up was slow and not much happened. After I finished "Muse", though, I realized why the story had to go this way and appreciated this series more.

It starts right where it left off. Lexie and Jackson are facing the aftermath of their decisions, and it's difficult because of their attraction. In "Muse" we see how they come to new conclusions and how they evolve as characters and face their own feelings as well.

In "Groupie" there where several descriptions of PT and to be quite honest, they seemed too much information to me. Not only because I am not expert in the field hence I'd be bored to read about how to do PT (I would buy a book about it if I wanted to know how to do it), I thought that they weren't needed in the description and they could work here and there but not for most of the book, since Lexie's character relayed the story day-by-day as if she was writing a diary of some sort. I was thankful in this book the rehabilitation happened but the explanations were kept to a minimum and many more events in the MC's lives happened besides the therapy. This was my only issue, because the writing is really good and correct and the characters are both relatable. Lexie is not a naive woman and Jackson not your usual jerk manwhore.

It was nice to see the characters develop. I think they were realistic and their actions possible in real life. I appreciated that their romance built up slowly and reached the usual "bases" like I love you and the sex, when it was the characters' time to do those things and not out of plot ideas like some other authors do. This is a clean romance book with authentic characters and I'd recommend it to those who want to see the characters face real-life challenges that could happen to anyone and a drama-free story.
