This book is a summary of a much larger book. Having read the summary, I picked up a few pointers that will help me to get started. I really need to read the full version but I did not see it in the Unlimited section. I have to look again because I cannot afford it otherwise. Right now I am drowning in clutter and I'm overwhelmed to the point of crying several times a day because I feel paralyzed. Please God have her complete book where I can read it for free before I give up on this life completely! Thank you for showing me there may actually be away out, even if only a miracle occurs. If not, see you in the next life.
Incomplete description of what this summary actually is. Felt deceptive.
I was not aware that this was an unofficial summary until after purchasing. I even looked prior to buying for the author's name, but none appeared other than the actual book's author. In fact, the author of the summary is nowhere to be found, even the request for a review is not signed by the author of the summary. I had read enough of the actual books to know this summary, itself, is quite haphazard. I am being generous to give it two stars.
If Marie Kondo’s original promised magic, this summary promises a quick magic show in fifteen minutes. Sure, the main ideas are there — “keep what sparks joy,” “thank your belongings” — but much of the charm and context is lost. It feels more like a cheat sheet before a tidying-up exam. Handy if you’re short on time, but it hardly replaces the real thing.
4 stars....This is a good book to get started. I agree with deciding what needs to go and getting rid of it. Decide you are keeping if so. Our lives are cluttered enough!
This was a quick read yet full of outstanding suggestions with a unique way of viewing the daunting task of tidying up. I gave it this rating because it surpassed my expectation and motivated me to approach my own task of "tidying up".
This was a really inspiring and positive new perspective that I will try. As a bad clutterer I feel I need a few more positive Practical strategies to actually manage it, but I’ll try it, thank you!
I read the original book about tidying up years ago. I needed to refresh my mind about the concepts and found this book perfect for that purpose. Very clear and concise.
Gives you the meat of the KonMari method without repetition or excessive examples. You can dive deeper into the book if you want to, but this is really all you'll need.
