Beau and the Beast

Rate this book
Can beauty really tame a beast?

For ten years, former Wall Street executive Wolfram—along with his staff—has been magically imprisoned in his midtown penthouse after his firm pissed off the wrong witch. Now, only one thing can free him from the curse.

Unfortunately, they're not sure what that one thing is.

But mercy for the man with none, he still can be released:
Light can lift his shadowed soul when beauty frees the beast.

When a young reporter named Beau accidentally stumbles into their midst, the staff thinks he might be the answer to the witch's riddle—if only they can convince him to stay.

Beau has his doubts when he’s asked to write the mysterious billionaire’s biography, but he can’t say no to the huge sum of money being offered. Resigned to his fate, Wolfram hates the idea of a stranger intruding in his life.

What neither man expects is the deep connection that forms between them. As they work together, Wolfram and Beau form a passionate bond that threatens to boil over into something more.

The only problem? Thanks to the curse, Wolfram is a seven-foot-tall monster with eight weeks left to live unless the spell is broken.

Can Beau save a love he’s only just found, or is it too late for one man to set Wolfram free?

Beau and the Beast is a steamy, 125,000-word contemporary gay May-December romance set in the real world with some magical themes and an HEA.

This is a lovely retelling of the classic tale, with an MM twist to it. And what a retelling!

I loved Disney's original movie. But I liked this one, too. Beau gets everything he wants. You want to know why I say that? He wanted to snatch the attention of his readers and keep them ensnared with his love story with Wolfram, and he did that and then some. ;-)

I was breathless with excitement for the first 50-60% of the book. The one thought during that time that was running in the back of my mind was that I will definitely reread it as many times as it would want me to, it was that captivating. Every word, every event, every conversation, everything from start until that point had me on tenterhooks, wanting to know how it will all wrap around to an HEA.

But then the story got to be a bit repetitive, in the sense that the same fears were being mentioned, there was more than was required focus on the intimacy scenes, even the punctuation and editing were slipping up from their perfect execution in the beginning: the vocative commas or periods started disappearing mysteriously, some typos were popping up randomly.

The story picked the pace back up again near the end and I get invested again. The ending was really precious, and I couldn't have asked for anything better.

The bonus chapter was great until the party ended. The next part was the same thing that was overdone in the main book, and I ended up skimming the paragraphs while reading only the dialogues until the end came.

But this is a lovely story nonetheless. A highly recommended one for those who loved the original Beauty and The Beast. :)
Thank you, Lorraine Lesar, for recommending the book to me. You're an angel! :) xoxo

As the title suggests, this is an M/M retelling of the classic Beauty & the Beast tale.

There is plenty to like here, from the lovely ensemble cast of characters that fill up the pages, to the delicious slow-burn romance that dreamily develops between Beau and his beast – it even proved to be steamier in the bedroom department than I expected from my past experiences with this author, which was a very welcomed surprise.

I only have one problem here and it lies in the unnecessary length of the story. I personally felt that so much said was reiterated several times over, to the point that I felt like I was re-reading the same thoughts and conversations a handful of times during my reading experience. Had this been significantly shorter, I believe the flow of the story and its overall enjoyment would have been much more on point for me. But if too many words is my biggest complaint, then things are generally looking good from where I’m sitting.

Ultimately, this modern spin on a personal favourite was a welcomed reimagining and will now rank among my most enjoyed fairy-tale retellings.

Beauty and the Beast is one of my all time favorite tales. I dived into this one pretty excited. The writing was good, I got invested into the story, but I think it was extremely slow and well it didn't surprise me much. I mean, it didn't surprise me in a good way. Beau's brother, ugh! He was somehow Bell's Dad in the tale. The one Bell wanted to save and got into the Beast's house in the first place. I must admit I really didn't like WHY he agreed to help his brother. This was a stupid thing to do for a big brother supposed to HELP his younger and irresponsible brother!

The Beast or Wolfram - Wolf. Well he wasn't as bad as I expected him to be at first. There were some boring dialogues and too many details of his past. I got bored and kind of skipped some paragraphs entirely. I enjoyed all the secondary characters but somehow I wanted more, a little more. There are some hot scenes that didn't bother me. I guess I found some of their sex scenes well done.

And "Gaston" isn't really the bad guy here. Just Beau's ex who actually gets involved with Beau's younger brother, both connected while worrying over Beau.

I didn't quite like the ending, I would have liked it to be closer to the fairy tale. But I guess that's the author's touch here on this story. It wasn't that bad but it wasn't good either. At least for me. This book was just TOO long and kind of dragged... So I'll just say it was an OK read for me. 2,5 STARS rounded down.

2 stars = it was ok.

And it was ok.

I didn't love it.

I was kind of bored.

I think I just mostly wasn't into the setup and I was constantly arguing with what was going on.

The end was odd. Very different honestly.

Oh, and where did this take place? Was this supposed to be like NYC? The majority of the time I wasn't sure we were even in the US.

It was just odd.

I absolutely loved this modern (m/m) version of Beauty and the Beast. It was bold, entertaining and very sexy! The characters were well rounded and the story compelling with a relevance to what's going on in today's society.
Highly recommend.

OMG OMG I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

Eleventy-billion stars and a more coherent review after I have slept!

ETA: OK, so mad, mad love for this book. Beauty and the Beast is one of my all time favorite Disney movies and fairy tales, and I loved the take on this while also making it unique and stand on its own.

I loved everything about Beau, how he cared for everyone, how he didn't flinch from Wolfram, how he brought everyone together over dinner and help them become friends and family, just everything in how he approached his situation was done with concern and heart. I loved him! And most of all, I loved him and Wolfram together, how it was a slow burn and build up to them together and just beautiful to read.

Also, I love how this author wrote the secondary characters! I loved Violet and Song, and I just adored Beau's brother, Noah, and his friendship with Beau's ex, Lincoln. I love Lincoln's development as he starts to befriend Noah and care for him.

And I LOVED the ending! Definitely a surprise, and I don't want to give anything away, so I will just say READ THIS STORY. You won't be disappointed! You'll fall in love with Beau and Wolfram and never want the story to end.

I would love to read more, something either set in this world that Kay Simone has created, or heck, just more with these guys. There is a bonus chapter as well, definitely read that!

I loved it. I loved it not. I loved it. I love it not. This novel (with the longevity to prove it) gave me whiplash.

The reasons to love are many. Lyrical, beautiful writing style. Faithful to the classic fairytale. A well developed cast of characters. A love story for the ages, told with feeling, heart and wisdom.

Believable, even with the ‘horny’ lovin. Okay, I couldn’t help myself. C’mon, laugh a little :)

Everything gets explained ad nauseam. She loved it not.

The Epilogue. It was lame and silly. The stars are falling and the eyes are rolling. She loved it not.

All in all, worth the read. For the good parts, which were very, very good.

***1/2 stars

PS. Don’t think I skimmed either. I didn’t. I read every single minutiae of detail. Horns and all ;)

I really looked forward to reading this book. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie. I remember going to see the movie at the theater, watching Beauty and the Beast on Ice, going to Disney World and watching the live (short) performance on stage. I had (still have) a sleep shirt that got to so worn out it has holes and I have a never used towel with Belle and the Beast on it. Plus collectable plates that hang on the wall. And I recently bought the 25th anniversary DVD edition in December. And of course the movie soundtrack and books.

Yep, my faaaaaaaaavorite story. And so I was really interested in reading this new spin on a classic tale. It was good in the beginning. There are very innovative and cleverly outlined plots that coincide with the classic tale. Wolfram is cursed and turned into a beast by a witch, he is given a set time line in which to break the spell or forever be doomed, the curse can be broken but the true solution is unknown. There are no talking candlesticks or teapots, but, Wolfram does have a timepiece that counts down his time left (instead of a rose), Beau and Wolfram drink tea all the time, Beau enjoys cooking and does it every night for him and the rest of those held hostage by the curse (Wolframs employees are trapped too).

I was really into this story and liked where it was going. Beau (through a long story) winds up being Wolframs biographer in the hopes of breaking the spell, and Beau has dreamed of writing a "great novel." Just like Belle's love of books and fairytales, Beau is equally so.

We get not only Beau's POV, but Wolfram's, Violets, and Noah's (Beau's brother). Because of the sensitivity of Wolf's story, Beau is cut off from the outside world and Noah (and Lincoln - Beau's ex) are worried about him and work out a way for Lincoln to get into the penthouse where they think Beau is being held against his will.

The evil Gaston is not a character here, just Lincoln and a gun going to save Beau.

This is also a looooong story and I found myself skipping a lot because honestly it didn't matter. They were in love, we all know they are in love, I don't need to read about them cooking dinner again, or drinking tea, or see Beau thinking about Noah and the book. I also skipped the love scenes because there was a lot of them and I just wanted to get to the end of the story and the HEA.

I enjoyed the parts with Noah and Lincoln becoming friends - but since we don't get the full story (meaning sex scene with them), I didn't see the point. Why bother showing us this if we don't get it all? And this time I don't mean the sex. We are shown short snippets into Noah and Lincoln becoming close and kissing, but when the story ends, we don't get any more with them - they are simply an established couple living together. I felt cheated.

This book turned out to be a case of my expectations being different than the books reality and my disappointment overrode the goodness that is this book. It is a good story, it just didn't go the way I wanted and I wasn't satisfied with the ending. Which caused what could have been a 5 star book for me turning into a 3. This could have been a shorter story and still been good. I could keep going but I think you get my point.

4.5. I LOVED Beau. Like really, really loved him. Wolfram too! The two of them together were just perfection. Loved the lore, the pacing, the depth of the characters, the complexity the author devoted to the storyline. I haven't gotten a lick of work done today. I will say that I felt it was a little too long in parts. Once Beau was finished writing the book, I was kind of just ready to see what would happen with the curse, so I kind of just skimmed the sex....didn't skip it altogether, I'm not crazy. I also never really understood why they all thought writing the book was the key to breaking the curse. Still, I loved the book and the ending, and all the secondary characters. Beau's brother and ex were too cute!

This was a fascinating and wonderful story and a fantastic read.
Until the epilogue I would have rated it 5 stars.
Beau is a journalist who lives with his younger brother. As kids they lost their parents when their home burned down and Noah still has the scars from this incident.
Noah who is a computer geek finds footage of a strange creature on a surveillance camera and tries to blackmail the company. Beau steps in and visits the place because Noah is handicapped and can only walk with a cane. However once there, he is offered a much larger amount of money if he agrees to write a book about Wolfram the owner of the company. As it turns out, Wolfram is the creature Noah caught on camera. He was cursed by a witch to live as a beast.
Of course we get the "beauty and the beast" story here and I must say it has never been told nicer! You definitely need to be very generous to accept the silly presumption, but that is already clear when you read the blurb, so you should know what to expect.
For me the story was beautiful, I loved those 2 and it was absolutely sweet and heartbreaking.
Until the very end this was an outstanding book for me. Unfortunately the epilogue ruined a lot and made me lower my rating to 4 stars, because it was just getting too silly.
What happened (or rather what didn't happen) to Wolfram after the curse was broken was absolutely stunning and definitely not as expected, I really loved the message it gave! But then the turn of events became really stupid and I found this exaggerated, unnecessary and just too much!
Next time I will stop reading before that last chapter and yes I am sure I will read this again in the future! 4 stars and recommended!

I was prepared to read another remake of beauty and the beast but what I got was so much more. I shouldn't be surprised with having read other books by Kay Simone but this was so much more than I even suspected was possible. Even with the m/m couple all past versions fail to compare. I've read several other versions both traditional m/f and m/m and this is by far the best.
The writing is fast moving and engaging. The flow of the story was smooth and the pacing excellent. The characters were real. There is some heat to the story but it doesn't force the storyline or overwhelm it. It holds many themes that encourage the reader to think about the messages long after the book is finished.
I am reviewing an ARC of this book because I loved it and want to tell people about it.

But mercy for the man with none He still can be released: Light can lift his shadowed soul, When beauty frees the beast.

When we are together, there is no curse. There is only Wolf and me.

I want you—just like this...

***

After years living as 'a monster' , Beau had made Wolfram feels like 'a man' again, who deserves to be loved and loved for...
With his kindness and patient, Beau had made him feel 'human' ...

But will the beast finally freed from the curse ?
Will they have their own HEA?

***

When some people have an issue about a gay character that appear in the movie Beauty And The Beast, I'm so excited that I found a gay version about the story in Beau And The Beast.

I fall in love with the blurb instantly. But when I read the book, I love the story even more.

Beau and The Beast definitely one of the best book I've read this year.
It's beautifully written, with amazing characters and good plotting. I'm mesmerized by the story as soon as I started it.
The interaction and bond that slowly growing between the Beau and the Beast is one thing I cherish from the story. It's heartwarming, calming and so beautiful.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

That was the review I made for this book when I'm at 85% reading before it being ruined by the ending and the epilogue....

The sad part is...
I can feel that Beau And The Beast will gonna be one of the best book I ever read in 2017 before the ending successfully ruined all the excitement.

The X-Men 'invasion' worsened the last few chapters even more...

Seriously, it totally swept away all the feels I felt about this promising story from the beginning....

If only it not ended like that, I'll gladly give this book 7 perfect stars...

So yeah.... let me lick my wound of disappointment and move on....

Overall book rating: 3
Audio Book: N/A
Book Cover: 3

I was trying to silence the annoying voice in my head when I started off writing this review but to no avail. My “annoying voice” didn’t want to hear any of that. So here is said “annoying voice” on paper.

I was really looking forward to this story as I am an avid lover of all things Beauty and the Beast. I really don’t care how many times it’s been done. And so I started off happily indulging in yet another version of my little silly likes.

The first part of the book was nice. There were little things that didn’t sit right all the time, one being Beau, leaving his brother all alone the way he did....
So I understand the “logic” behind it all but if you really are “all he has” you can’t up and leave the way he did.

Two being the way this all went down?? If Beau is such a walking wonder, why support his brother in the way this all came about?

The first half flew by because I wanted to know more. Then the second part... The one thing I did like about the second part, and would really want more about is..

And that brings me to THE END

My feelings?.....

I wish I could remove the whole damn thing and write my own. I. DIDN’T. LIKE. IT.

I was so disappointed in my fairytale ending I wanted to just cry. What the hell?? This was no happy ending.

Beau got to play with his fascination and poor Wolf got what? Oh yes, he got to have Beau. A Man who has a thing for NON-HUMANS???

The Witch in this story truly is a WITCH. She can’t even cast a descent spell it seems.

WOW!! This novel is a HOT, adult version of Beauty and the Beast which will take up a space in your heart unlike other fairy tales. Brilliantly written with more than a realistic twist, Kay has done a magnificent job as usual bringing to life a story that will both intrigue you and cause you wanting so much more..The storyline was strong keeping you turning the pages. The characters were so well developed and amazing that they bring you right into the story... Wolfram was a Wall Street Tycoon who was there to make the rich even richer. When Wall Street crashed in 2008 a witch associated with a woman he worked with who shortly died after he fired her, she placed a curse on Wolfram transforming him into a monster and secluding him and his staff for a decade. During the last couple of months of seclusion, Beau Blake, a newspaper reporter, comes to Wolfram's penthouse after Beau's brother, Noah, blackmails them with pictures of a monster he sees on security cameras. Beau is there to pick up the money, but instead the staff catches him and in turn offers Beau a job to write a biography of Wolfram. He's not to leave the penthouse until he's finished. When Beau and Wolfram meet its both electric but unsettling for both!!! This is such a beautiful story of true love from the inside... How the good of people can overshadow a bad soul!!! The poetry was so appropos that adds so much to the story. This brings out a whole new dimension of life that can make you look at things differently. HOT, Sizzling, and both emotional and loving! I highly recommend this novel.. one you won't soon forget!! Don't miss it! Kay has done it again❤️

OK, this was NOTHING like what I expected! So many twists and turns that when I got to the last chapter, my head literally exploded! WOW!! Kay Simone has created a story that not only worked with Beauty and the Beast, but added a whole new dimension to the story, and made it BETTER!!! I was completely blown away by the last few chapters. Her characters were incredibly 3 dimensional, the "curse" so much better than the original and Beau was fantastic. I can't wait to read this again!! I got this book through Kindle Unlimited, but now have to have my own copy of it and will also get a hard copy to keep in my library. This is a book that should be read again and again. Thank you so much Kay Simone for such a wonderfully original story!!!

Five fat fairy tale stars

I don't know how Kay Simone does it but here, again, is an epic tale of love in unusual circumstances, totally different to each of her other novels but carried out with aplomb.

This is billed as a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, but it's way more than that. Yes we have the 'beast' in Wolfram, yes we have the beauty in Beau, but this isn't so much a tale of beauty saving the beast as of two souls finding their perfect other selves.

The ending, and the novel way it deals with what usually happens in this fairy tale, is truly inspired, I didn't see it coming and I hope readers of this book are able to discover it themselves without spoilers, believe me it's worth it.

The world building is superb, the secondary characters are given the same depth of treatment as the two leads and Kay's use of language is again beautiful.

And the sex scenes, let's just say if anyone ever needs to know just how erotic lovemaking can be between a slight figure of a man and a seven foot furrred man with arm's horns and a lion's tail, this book proves beyond doubt that Non Human People can get it on with the best of them.
The sex is lovingly woven into the story as a part of the ever growing relationship between these two and never feels like it's there simply for titillation.

The ending is perfect, the epilogue a glimpse into a future in which society embraces the differences instead of fearing them and that's a world I'd love to live in.

Oh, and Noah and Lincoln were absolutely brilliant, such a riot and a pairing which, on the surface never should have worked, but in practice, absolutely did.

Beau and Wolfram are amazing! I fell in love with them and their story, it was just perfect and beautiful! I hate Beau with a passion.
He annoyed the hell out of me, when he accepted the offer, went to live with the beast and then he realized... he shouldn't have left his lovely brother to go to this place!! Oh how smart you are... You greedily accept the offer for money for your brother, and now you regret it! What kind of plot is this??? I am supposed to like this kind of character? No thanks.

Beau and the Beast
By Kay Simone
Published by the author, 2017
Four stars

Although I’ll post it in my usual places, I’m doing this review specifically for a FB group I am involved with, called “This Gay Book I Loved.” https://www.facebook.com/groups/46318... This group is designed to discuss books by, about, or for gay/bi men that fall outside the standard M/M market, and that embrace a variety of genres where it’s not all about the relationship. I’m posting this review here because it should have been a perfect fit our “This Gay Book I Loved.” Instead, it is a near miss, and I’ll explain why I think so.

I HAD to read this book. I love re-casting classic stories, whether Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” or any well-known myth or fairytale. So, “Beau and the Beast” by Kay Simone was a must-read. Simone is a good writer—and at times a wonderful writer. The tricky part of writing a new take on a classic is that it has to be simultaneously (1) fresh and (2) familiar. This can lead to some pretty contrived narrative, and Simone falls into this trap now and then in the course of this very long book. Her plot drags in places, but on the whole I really liked it. I especially enjoyed the very “now” twist she gives to the end of the tale, although the epilogue felt both a little wordy while being oddly perfunctory.

Simone works very hard to delve into the personalities of both Beau and Wolfram. She wants us to know them and understand them inside and out. From Beau’s younger brother Noah, physically different because of a cataclysmic event that happened when they were young; to Wolfram’s own murky childhood in the shadow of his father Isidore, we gradually come to know what makes these two men tick. It is a long way from Disney’s films, because there’s a philosophical bent to this story that makes it more thoughtful than most fables. On the other hand, it’s not as stylized or symbolist as Jean Cocteau’s famous 1946 film “La Belle et la Bete” (in which the beast was played by Cocteau’s gorgeous boyfriend).

From this end, I give it four stars.

However, I also wanted to take away a star, giving it three (which is not bad for me, but not a rave, either), because the author has chosen to place this great idea for a gay spin on a classic fable squarely into the gooey heart of throbbing gay romance. I know this is supposed to be about Beau falling in love with the beast (no spoiler here, but stop reading now, because spoilers follow). But there is a huge amount of sex between Beau and Wolfram, and it is covered in great, many-paged, sometimes tedious detail. Even the very first scene between these two made me squidgy, because, IT’S A FAIRY TALE and discussions of pretty little strong-spirited Beau and Wolfram’s massive, uh, junk, just don’t fit into my vision of what a gay version of this story should be. Plus, to be honest, I kept having uncomfortable images of Dorothy getting intimate with the Cowardly Lion, and, just, ew.

Personally, I would have cut 90% of the sex from this book, and just left the love, because that’s where the story and the author shine. To me, this is a book that could have a wider audience in a world where gay men in love is gradually becoming less frightening than a cursed beast. By choosing the path she does, Simone automatically limits the audience to hardcore m/m fans who demand lots of on-page heat. And that’s too bad, because it’s a great idea.

The actual rating is 3.5 stars.

It's no secret I adore Beauty and the Beast story and I'm always happy to read retellings of the original. Beau and the Beast is lovely contemporary retelling with paranormal elements and two wonderful men as the main couple.

I loved the characters a lot. Beau is the sweetest pea and Wolfram is the perfect grumpy yet caring character. I'm weak for these types. The biggest surprise was Lincoln who is a Gaston in the novel. His developing relationship with a very special someone was lovely. (No spoilers)

Unfortunately, I got slightly bored in the second half of the story. Personally, I didn't appreciate the abundance of sex scenes. The romance was too sweet and perfect. Basically no drama or conflict. I started skipping pages so I can just finish the story and be done with it.

I think the main problem is that the book should've been shorter. 566 page book is too long and I can see it easily edited to 300 pages.

The ending was very unexpected. Good unexpected, however I was already too tired of the book to fully appreciate it.

All in all, Beau and the Beast is charming retelling, if you like the original story, I think you enjoy this novel too. But take into consideration, it's way too long and explicit sex scenes with Wolfram when he's in beast form might not be for everyone.

“How do you... make me feel like a man?”

Excerpt From: Simone, Kay. “Advance Review Copy: Beau and the Beast.”

This incredible revamp of the classic Beauty and the Beast tale had me slack-jawed the whole way through. Through an intricately woven storyline, Kay, once again, finds a way to bring their story to life.

Beau, a young man in a bit of an odd situation, is made to adapt to life with Wolfram and his employees- whom are under an unfortunate curse. His caring personality goes a long way, especially with Wolfram. The contrasts in their attitudes does not stop them from having too much in common. These two were undeniably written for each other.

The creation of this universe that intwines realistic fiction with fantasy was crafted so seamlessly that it started to bring theories to mind about our world. Without a doubt, the book is entertaining, to say the least. You also get a chance to see the main characters interact with the other inhabitants of 330 West, forming relationships with side characters is something I've found is often overlooked in the romantic writing community.

I strongly recommend you give this story a chance. From the intelligent lines of Beau's persistence to the steamy bedroom scenes, the book is worth the read.

A beautifully written novel

I loved the different take on the Beauty and the Beast genre this book has. This story is beautifully written with great characters especially Beau and Wolf, but the other characters are very much a part of the story such as Noah,Lincoln,Violet,Geoffrey and the others who were cursed with Wolfram.

The story is about Wolfram who is cursed by a witch to become a monster as punishment for his actions that hurt people. For 10 years Wolf and his staff have been stuck in this penthouse being unable to leave for if they do they will die, then everything changes when Beau turns up at their door. Can beautiful and sweet Beau finally break the witches curse and if he can what happens then.

This for me is a must read book especially if you like the MM genre. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you engrossed and a really nice ending. Highly recommended.

Started off really good, interesting concept and I enjoyed the effort the author went to to stay true to the whole beauty and the beast theme how ever after around 60 % i got bored if i am honest, and had to skim read the rest just to see what happened in the end.

Good book in general, just not ideal for a speed mood reader like me.

Beautiful!

A wonderful take on the timeless classic story. I loved Beau and Wolfram. Romantic and tender hearted Beau meets Wolfram to write his story and hopefully break the spell which haunts them. Wonderfully written with a captivating storyline, I couldn't put it down.

REVIEWED FOR LOVE BYTES

Beau and the Beast is epic in every way. A retelling of a favourite classic with a modern day twist – who needs a castle when a penthouse works just as well? Wolfram and Beau are the stars of this slow burn romance which begins with a witch’s curse but ends in true love.

Wolfram is the epitome of the old beast in this story. Driven by money, or driven by his fathers need for money, he avoids all the signs of impending doom and his careless attitude puts him in the crosshairs of a grieving and angry witch. The countdown to Wolfram’s doom has begun and we pick up the story a decade in when time is running out. Wolfram is not the only one caged in by this curse and the cast of secondary characters is superb; Violet, Song, Alfie, Jeffrey and James all add a special something to the story and their roles are vital. Noah deserves a special mention as he shares an affinity with Wolfram without ever having met him – the world sees them as different. Lastly there is Lincoln who had a complete personality turnaround and became one of the good guys.

If Wolfram is the beast then Beau is the Beauty and that beauty begins deep inside this young, charming and caring man. Sent on a fool’s errand by his brother Noah he becomes embroiled in a situation even his imagination couldn’t have dreamed up but he doesn’t balk at what life throws at him but he grabs it by the horns, quite literally, and throws himself into the fray. He is fearless, he is empathetic and he just might be what everyone in this magical penthouse needs. There is a story to be told and Beau has just the right voice to tell it.

The ending left the traditional behind and wound up with the modern – it was the perfect way to do it. I would definitely recommend Beau and the Beast.

For a Beauty and the Beast twist story this is really good.
The ending though, not really sitting well with me. But this is a fairy tale after all.
Still a good book for a fairy tale freak like me.
Recommended.
