This was really cute & sweet. :) I love my little ponies. Definitely one of my favorite tv shows. So when my little sister bought these, I had to read them all. :) I'm very glad I did. The author does an excellent job of capturing discord's personality. & it's really sweet to seem him actually wanting to make friends. He's sarcastic & cocky, but he really is a sweetie heart once you get to know him, as fluttershy says. :D he really cares for her, doesn't he? :)

things are kinda hard for him. He's trying to deny his very instincts to cause chaos. & trying to be good, but everyone keeps expecting him to really screw things up. He's a lot like sunset shimmer in that aspect, and I think that's why I enjoyed this book so much. I love me some reformed baddies.

Actually, the only thing I have to say negative here is that it would have been far better as an episode of the TV show then as a book. & that's not really negative, as it's a very charming little story. just a personal opinion. Discord's magic is funny & has a much bigger impact in a visual story.

A wonderful choice for mlp fans & is highly recommended. It'd be really fun to read it out loud with a young child.

I just finished reading this to my 9 year old niece. She is huge My Little Pony fan and she absolutely loved it. It was a cute story about Discord, the Lord of Chaos.

Personally, I thought this was a little slow.

The main plot: Princess Celestia assigns Discord the task of participating in a Ponyville musical. If he can get along with everyone, she promises to return a prized possession to him. Of course a little bit of havoc is wreaked, and then it turns into a sort of mystery when someone keeps pulling pranks and setting Discord up to take the fall. But he eventually clears his name, learns a friendship lesson, and receives his prized possession...a clownfish.

Unlike some previous books, there aren't really any plotholes or messed up morals, but it did feel rather random. The one thing that did bug me was that Discord did not properly pay for his house, and there was nothing the poor real estate agent could do about it. And that is what has always bugged me about Discord - he is overpowered, and that combined with his loose morals makes for a lot of infuriating situations. The character can also be quite annoying to begin with. Sorry, Discord fans.

I definitely appreciated all the references to musicals. And I liked the inclusion of a lot of different background ponies - it was nice not to be so centered around the Mane Six the whole time.

The most hilarious of the books in the series. This was such a fun read. I enjoyed following Discord as the main character in this adventure.

When Discord is given a secret task by Princess Celestia, he moves to Ponyville to take part in the Spring Musical. But all doesn't go quite as planned. Will the Ponyville Platers trust Discord enough to let him fulfill his friendship task and partake in the musical?

Nicely written. Berrow captures the feel of the show perfectly in the narration.

Includes themes of building trust, being part of the team, and accepting not always being to center stage.

As with the other books in the series, there are bonus materials at the end. These include prompts for creating your own play/musical, friendship reflection prompts, a word jumble, a word search, and a maze.

An entertaining read. I definitely recommend this one of MLP fans.

"People will always see the bad in you and never in them."

My overall take is this is a my little pony story and if you don't like mlp leave lol.
The story is about friendship and acceptance about how people are different from one another. This is about Discord trying his best to be friendly with the pony juts for them to make lies about him and make it seem like he was the bad one and they were doing stuff to make him look bad. Just because they didn't like and trust him.

Sad thing is I know what he is going though.

A charming book for such a chaotic character!

The story follows Discord moving to Ponyville to participate in the Spring Musical upon a secret initiation from Princess Celestia. However, behaving and not inducing chaos is against his nature and becomes quite hard for Discord especially when so few ponies trust him.

I enjoyed this book! Although Discord causes chaos and is set as a negative character, his traits are really the opposite. He’s witty and fun in his remarks and although no pony was trusting him, he still kept his hopes up even if they were a bit of mischief. Discord also is self-reliant and reflective which makes his character all the more enjoyable. In this book, the reader can really see that Discord has changed through the “friendship is magic.”

This book had more references than the rest to events that have occurred in the TV series, making it read more like an accompaniment. Although it’s good to watch the show to understand the references, it’s not required in my opinion. The other ponies remarks and attitude near Discord help explain just how much trouble Discord has caused and why they are so fearful.

Overall, I did like this book as it was entertaining and there is a slight mystery involved. I think it would have been better if it was a TV episode so we could watch all of Discord’s funny antics. The message in this book felt a little fuzzy to me but I think that a happy ending is better than anything else we can wish for!

just what i needed! i have really enjoyed these little my little pony chapter books- fun, smart, and ponies! ponies! ponies! Discord is one of my favorite (reformed) villains so i was excited to get the chance to get a story focused on him. i wish it had more depth about Discord's life though because he is such a mysterious character -that said his voice and character felt spot on! very enjoyable

This is the funniest MLP book so far! I could hear all of Discord's dialogue in his iconic voice as well as see the story play out as an actual episode in my head. This is so authentic to FiM while being an entirely new story, it's truly wonderful!

Im loving reading this series to Demetrius! He laughed and laughed at this book. I got a kick out of this book because the author references a lot of musical songs and themes that I got to share with Demetrius.

It was a fun book with occasional references to MLP episodes, Star Trek and The Music Man. However, MLP is too colorful a universe to be conveyed properly in a black and white book. I would have enjoyed the story more in comic book format.

Discord seems a difficult character to capture, but Berrow did a great job at nailing his character, and this book was quite fun. I loved seeing this side of Discord, where he's asked to do something outside of his comfort zone, but he does it in an engaging way, rather than just sulking or throwing a tantrum. In some ways it seems a little odd he wouldn't try harder to be the center of attention, but the further I got into the book, the less that bothered me.

The ending seemed a little odd, as Discord has only ever seemed to care about himself, but it's also kind of cute, so I don't think I actually mind it. Trying to stay vague, to avoid spoilers.

Overall, while a few bits of this book felt odd at first, I ended up enjoying it, and I love how well Berrow was able to capture the character of Discord. I also loved the various small nods to what has happened in the show, as it shows Berrow knows the source material well.

Okay, this My Little Pony story is written for all the kids who love Broadway musicals. It contains several Pony-fied versions of classic showtunes, like "Singing in the Rain" and "Seventy Six Trombones". I'm not sure how many kids will get these gags but those that do will love this book.

There's also a nod to John De Lancie's Star Trek persona...

Not the best MLP book. Could've been a bit better. Definitely a must read for those who like Discord though.
