A story of völva magic and survival in Viking-Age Scandinavia
The story of Signy Kráka continues In her new life in Birka, Signy finds that not everyone is how she thought they were. Her search for freedom and a way home goes on, but the Norns want more from her. They use every choice she makes to bring her closer to knowing her true strength. Hardship is a harsh teacher, but with it comes wisdom. Life takes her to Uppsala, where she has more than one strange experience, and where Kolgrímr hunts her down.
Written with attention to historical detail and sweeping imagination, this atmospheric story transports the reader into the culture and beliefs of Viking-Age Scandinavia. A story of völva magic, friends and foes, survival and betrayal, Viking law and society. Signy Kráka is a novel told in three parts. This book is part two.
The story of Signy Kraka is emotionally charged, especially for any of us who have survived similar challenges. Signy’s Norse beliefs seem to be helping her through her challenges and I pray that her story ends well, with the Gods by her side as a result of her strength in surviving these struggles at such a young age (approximately 13?) I can’t wait to start reading part 3 now!
