Weekend Rendezvous was written by USA Today Bestselling Author Reana Malori Jackson (Jack) Pittman is a Navy man through and through. “Love ’em and leave ’em” is his motto. He has his SEAL team, his friends, and spends his life hunting the bad guys. What more could he need? Lisa Worley has only herself. No husband to drag her down, no children to worry about, a career that she loves, and friends she can depend on. That’s the life she wanted. Her home is becoming too quiet at night with only the TV occasionally breaking the silence. The night Jack met Lisa they both discover something neither expected nor wanted. Now Jack has a beautiful woman in his arms at night to keep him warm. Someone to welcome him home when he returns from a mission. Sexy. Brave. Strong. Dependable. If he had to put in an order for an ideal woman, then she was it. The excitement of leaving on dangerous missions no longer appealed to him. It was time for him to slow down. Maybe the day had come to finally admit how much he needed her and wanted to make a life together. Between the harsh words, misunderstandings, and hurt feelings, Jackson and Lisa must decide if what lies between them is worth fighting for. *Military Romance | BWWM Interracial | HEA*
The characters I write will not be perfect. None of us are. They will make mistakes. All of the hero's will have redeeming qualities, but on the outset, you may not be their biggest fan. My heroine's will be the kind of women you want to hang out with. They're the women next door, down the street and around the corner. They are the ladies you would want to spend time with on a Saturday night drinking a martini.
I have been an avid reader of romance novels since the age of 14 and know what appeals to me as reader. My goal is, and will always be, to provide that same experience for the women and men who read my novellas and short stories.
I’m a former Marine and served for 8 years, so strong military men will always be a favorite topic of mine. I will continue to write stories with military heroes’ front and center. I’m also a fan of Alpha-males and strong women who love with everything they have.
What a good solid addition to this two-part series of two people trying to avoid committing to one another. The writer gives just enough drama to keep you from straying. This story a little of everything and just enough to keep to interested till you finish.
This book was a great read in this series. I loved Jack and Lisa's character. They were both strong people who were afraid of letting go of their fears and their past. It was great to see Austin and Kara from the first book. Austin let him have it in that bar scene that's for sure.
Neither Lisa and Jackson are looking for anything serious which is why they were perfect for each other. They both had successful careers and that was enough for them. Then things changed and a casual relationship doesn't work anymore. Lisa wants more and if Jackson can't give it to her she'll have to move on. Jackson doesn't know if he's ready for more but what he does know is that he's not willing to give Lisa up. Will their casual fling turn into a forever kind of love? Lisa and Jackson were perfect for each other, they just had to realize that before it was to late. One of my favorite things about this couple is how they were when they were with each. You could just feel the sparks fly when they were near each other. I loved following along with these two while they were trying to figure out if what they had was just fun for the moment or the HEA neither thought was a part of their future. I gave this one 4 stars!
In Weekend Rendezvous, author Reana Malori explores the 'secret' relationship of Jackson (Jack) Pittman, Navy Seal and Lisa Worley, his 'secret' weekend lover. Jack and Lisa, agreed their arraignment would be just the two of them getting together when Jack is home from a mission. Things start to get complex when the best friends Austin (Jack's) and Kara (Lisa's) find out (although they already knew, they want Jack and Lisa to tell them). Thier relationship starts to become complicated for Jack, but he just can't let Lisa go, and Lisa never thought she wanted more, now she does.
I was a little annoyed with Jack; he could have been honest with Lisa about his fears and why he had them, and Lisa could have been more open with Jack. Jack never wavered in his want of Lisa, but will Jack be able to open up about the past and will she be able to get past the hurt he unknowingly caused.
Weekend Rendezvous was a good read of two people finding love where they least expect it.
I really enjoyed this sequel to Weekend Lovers. We got a glimpse of Jack and Lisa in Book 1 when we saw their friends Kara and Austin get their HEA. Jack and Lisa had instant chemistry and fell into a mutually beneficial arrangement since neither one was looking for anything long term. However, inevitably these two sort of fall into a relationship despite their efforts to avoid it. Both of these characters have issues to work through and misunderstandings keep them apart much longer than they should have been. The roller coaster ride of their ups and downs was well worth it though in the end as these two had a love just as strong as Kara and Austin's at the end of the day. This was a good story and I wouldn't mind reading more in this series from Reana Malori.
I was so disappointed in the last book, I almost gave up. The author did a much better job of following through with the story of Jack & Lisa and the whys of their relationship. Very real situations. I started to get irritated with how long it was taking Jack & Lisa to get to the point, but the storyline eventually got there. Tired of the black women characters being fed scraps and walked all over, we see enough of that in real life. Good epilogue, but I would like to see a little past how you get from HEA to kids. Having the story stop at "I love you" feels like it stops a little short.
Jackson and Lisa are a great couple and they are real. They start with a one night stand that changes into a friends with benefits arrangement that became something so much more without either one of them realizing it. Jackson was trapped by his past and scared how he felt about Lisa. Lisa realized she wanted more from Jackson but afraid of losing her heart.
Things come to a head and decisions have to be made. The question is will their relationship survive. Buy the book and find out!
This is the second book in the Weekend Lovers series and I loved it. The chemistry between Jack and Lisa was off the chain. These were two adults who decided that they did not want a relationship but could not stay away from each other. But when faced with a decision that would pull them apart what will Lisa do? Will Jack let her go so easily? Because when this couple, who claim, they aren't really a couple realize that they have more in common than sex and when real life and real life decisions start interfering in their non-relationship what are they to do? I guess you will have to buy the book to find out.
This book really touched on the challenges that some couples face especially when it an interracial couple. Everyone's love story is unique and nothing could be further from that truth than Lisa and Jackson. It wasn't easy, and their start wasn't traditional. But, they made it through. It was definitely a roller-coaster ride with a happy ending. I enjoyed every twist and turn.
If you didn't read book one please run and get it you won't be disappointed. Not only does Reana Malori write a great military love story but she understands the proper way to end a story. Please read these stories you won't be sorry it is well worth your time.
The second book in the weekend lovers series had me all in my feelings . Jackson often made me want slap him as well as kiss him when finally got it right with Lisa. My only con with this story was that Lisa took a lot from Jack , and didn’t come across as strong as I thought her character should have been
I really enjoyed this book. I was upset with Jack for most of the book but he redeemed himself. I wanted Lisa to dump him for a while there. The ending was good and didn't feel rushed.
Another excellent read from this author. Very good storytelling with full believable characters. The pages turn themselves and I really don't want it to end. I recommend you will not be disappointed.
Jackson and Lisa will take you on an unforeseen journey. It's a journey filled with fun, secrets, betrayal, hints of shame, possible prejudice, jealousy and true love. Take the journey with them.
This books was good with enough conflict and love mixed in to keep the attention of the reader . I have enjoyed reading about Jackson just as mush as I enjoyed Reading about Austin.
I greatly enjoyed this book. I got so into it that there were times I wanted to hit the hero or the heroine upside the head. That lets me know that I am all into the story.
I must give you your props. Yes you did it again, drew me in and before I knew it I was totally hooked. I was surprised and so much taken by the unfolding story. I was at the end in no time at all. Thanks
Wow! What a new twist this story has and very stimulating…it kept my attention the entire reading! I was excited to read another story about our Navy SEALS and their team!💚🍀🦋
I enjoyed reading this book so much! I couldn't put my kindle down! I enjoyed the storyline and the chemistry between Lisa and Jackson! Such a fantastic book!
Great read from beginning to end. Thanks for taking the time to unravel Jackson's back story make you understand his logic a bit. Better. I loved this book
I've read the part 1 too many times to count. Ms. Malori always has a good story. I liked issue of trust and how you need to honest about why you would have trouble giving your heart.
Funny to read how a weekend hook up turned into a serious love story. Reana tells a beautiful tail of trust, insecurity, betrayal, soul searching and love. This is a story I highly recommend you read.
Jackson has secrets and Lisa is one of them! The two have been "secret" lovers for almost two years and they are both beginning to feel the strain of their relationship. This book kept me riveted from beginning to end. I hated Jackson because he seemed to be using Lisa as a booty call. But in the beginning Lisa was no better for allowing it. What was most delightful in this book was the friendships. Jackson and Austin and Lisa and Kara, these friends were the best supporting sounding boards these two had. Great read.
I really love it when the man realizes that he loves his woman and sets out to prove how much not caring if he has to plead his case but just determined with everything he has to win!!
