In what is now the first volume of the newly renamed "Valley of Surrender" series (formerly the Spanked Wives Club), we again meet Lacy and Troy from Maintenance Night and the Spanked Wives Club (now renamed as Lacey's Surrender). This volume gives us the emotional backstory for the other two books as well as the story of their move to White Valley (aka Valley of Surrender), a community where DD D/s relationships are the norm. There is a lot of BDSM in this book, heavy on the SM, so if that's not your cup of tea, I suggest you read elsewhere. I thoroughly enjoyed it, particularly as Lacey struggles to understand her own feelings. She doesn't like the pain, but cannot deny her sexual arousal from it. Her brain and her body don't quite know what to make of each other which she comes to accept even as complete understanding continues to escape her. I appreciated Troy's strong feeling that they would not move unless or until Lacey was alright with the move. The other plotline is their relationship with their friend Hunter, whose marriage is disintegrating and Lacey is attracted to him, as well as to her husband. All in all, another excellent book from Evans. Loooking forward eagerly to what will be Book 4 in the Valley of Surrender series.

I really should'a reviewed this when I read it ages ago. I LURVE everything about the Valley of Surrender series...except that I'm waiting on the next book :-/
Maintenance Night was a lovely teaser into the lives of a married DD-practicing couple. Maintenance Week is no tease!! It's DD on steroids!! I slurped up every day of new delights Dom hubby, Troy, dished out for his subby wife, Lacey.
This series was a li'l like the perfect dinner, for me:
I read MN first (a yummy apertif and amuse-bouche to whet my desires), then I ventured onto Trent's website and found an extended Christmas-themed scene involving Troy, Lacey, and Hunter (a tasty dessert of Santa's cookies for the nibbling), and, finally, I had a full meal of the Valley of Surrender books (each a bite of exquisite torture for my DD-lovin' taste buds). But then, just when I thought I couldn't be any more sated, Trent offers up Maintenance Week. It's a perfect digestif, rounding out the yumminess of the series while I (impatiently!!) wait for the next book in the series.
LURVED and hungry for more!!! Write faster, please!!! Peeps are starving over here!!!

After giving birth to their sweet son,Lacey needs to know her husband Troy still wants her...like before. Adding to the mix their friend Hunter,who's hurting in a bad marriage,and the invitation to White Valley....Such a beautiful journey towards a different,and very unique,way of living. I loved it and can't wait to hear more about this small town and its residents

I think this is well written. Trent Evans gives you a very clear picture of Troy and Lacey's lifestyle.
I realized that this is so not my cup of tea. It is too dark and intense for me, but I can see someone who prefers that type of book enjoying this one.
Troy seemed hard,cold, and cruel. He would intersperse terms of endearment and Lacey would convince herself and could get through her punishment. I never knew what she was being punished for most of the time. Lacey seemed insecure, desperate, and needy. She seemed to soak up the pain and humiliation she received. Von and Keenan had that sadistic edge. Hunter was the only one that appeared to be less edgy. The pain, the humiliation, the sharing, etc., all too much for me. Just goes to show you that there is someone and something for everyone. I honestly had to stop. Couldn't take any more.
I don't want to give a book one star because I don't care for the subject matter. It definitely got its point across. I recommend you read it and form your own opinion.

It's here! The anticipated sequel of Maintenance Night. We finally get to know more about Troy and Lacey's story. I really enjoyed this story. We go through seven days of maintenance that goes to Lacey's limits. Day seven leaves a lot for interpretation and what may or may not come next. There are other books to this series but I wanted to know what came next after Maintenance Night and Mr. Evans did not disappoint. I felt the story with Hunter was left open and incomplete. I'm hoping he isn't left to the curb side. I guess I have to continue reading to find out what has become of Hunter.

What a mesmerizing work that Trent Evans has created that totally completes the valley of surrender series. Journeying through 7 days of maintenance we see Lacey and Troy's relationship evolve and deepen. Each day opens vulnerabilities and replaces them with empowerment. We also see the quintessential elements of a D/s relationship expertly displayed by the awesome writer- Trent Evans. 7 stars would have been even better.

This book delivered on everything it promised. Dark, edgy, encroaching on sadistic at times...and I loved it.
Trent Evans explores the dynamic between Troy and Lacey with gorgeous precision, ratcheting up each scene and sensation and making them come alive for the reader.
I'm looking forward to reading the other novels in this series. If they're anything like the first one, I know I won't be disappointed.

It was an OK read. I do love reading spicy books but this book was full of spanking as opposed to smut. There is sharing but only for spanking. Essentially if spanking is your thing, you’d love this book.
For me, this book was actually rather slow and I found myself getting bored of the repetitive maintenance week spankings. I was interested in Lacey and Hunter’s attraction to each other and the move to White Valley but took more than half the book to get to these plot points.
I wouldn’t reread this one but I’m curious enough to see what White Valley is like.

I was unable to get into this book. While the premise sounded interesting and fun, the book felt forced, and unwieldy right from the first page.
I may return to this later, but I’d say it lacked a portal into the world building needed. It wasn’t straight into events enough to be erotica, and not enough world built to engage with the lead.

Very hot and kinky story. I liked both Lacey and Troy. They are happily married and both enjoy all aspects of their BDSM relationship, especially the D/s and S&M. I am definitely interested in reading the next book in this series. How do things go when they move to White Valley? Is Troy's friend Hunter going to come with them?

Wow! This is the first of this kind for me to read. First time having to read about enema play, and milking his wife. Not sure if it is for me but very good book overall. Love the idea of a submissive community and will probably read the other two books in this series.

This picks up the story about a year later after Maintenance Night. Troy has been taking it easy when Lacey was pregnant and after given birth, but now he is back in control and has decided an maintance week is necessary to get back on track. This book focusses on each of the nights. Each time is different. Lacey never really knowing what will happen.
What I loved about this book is that while Lacey is feeling insecure about her body, Troy thinks she has never looked more beautiful and he will let her know that at every opportunity. In this book their darker desires are explored and their connected just gets stronger and deeper. There is a lot of focus of the emotional journey of submission.
We also get a glimpse of the town of White Valley, where everyone is living the same lifestyle.

This is a BDSM story - heavy on the SM. After giving birth, Lacey is concerned where her life is going with her husband/marriage. Beneath the sex this is a great story of how things change, but the change is not always bad. It was wonderful to watch how Lacey and Troy rediscovered their life and love after the birth of their son. The sex adds another level of intimacy.

Trent Evans made a good decision when he wrote Troy and Lacey's backstory for us to better understand their dynamic and how they came to live in White Valley. This series is definitely heavy on D/s and is not for the faint-of-heart. That being said, sometimes it's nice to escape to a place where very unlikely things happen and being a spanked wife is only a small part of it.
