Hawk's Promise

Rate this book
When an old friendship promises to become so much more.

Desiree Taylor was just ten years old when Hawk Ironcloud joined the army. The young man she had come to think of as her big brother disappeared from her life, but she'll never forget him. No man she met afterward could ever measure up to Hawk. More than a decade later a sudden family tragedy reunites the two of them. Now an adult, Desi finds herself plagued by a whole new set of powerful and confusing emotions.

Hawk has learned from hard experience that he's just no good at relationships. When Desi comes back into his life he struggles to deny his feelings for her. When that doesn't work he pushes her away—for her own good. But circumstances throw them together again, and this time there's no turning away from the smoldering attraction that flares up between them.

Now Hawk and Desi must decide whether they are stuck in the role of brother and sister or old friends, or can they become something much more?

I grew up on the West Coast. As a child I was fascinated with the idea that people could make up stories and those stories could become books. I knew I wanted to be an author too. It was a long road, but I finally made it, and now it's my full time career.

I love to hear from readers. Please don't be shy about reaching out.

Mmmeh!

It was a somewhat okay read I guess. Maybe I expect too much from every romance writer but I just didn't get intense longing from these two. There was just something missing and I skipped through most of the book hoping it would get better but it didn't. This book had promise as one of those quasi stepbrother scorchers I love to read about. Again there was just something missing for me.

My Opinion....

I think this story would have been better if the h was much older. Would have been more believable. But story line was pretty good

3.00 Stars. 🤷🏽‍♀️. The story for Hawk Ironcloud and Desiree Taylor is a slow moving train to romance. The story goes into great detail about the main characters back stories and family situations and their resistance to entering into a romantic pairing. Desiree’s and Hawke’s father were best friends and after Hawke’s father dies, Hawk is taken in by the Taylors. Desiree immediately developes a crush on him when she turns 16 she tries to kiss him. He leaves for the military and after many years, they meet again and their brother / sister relationship transitions to great friends to friends with benefits to a loving relationship to a bestowal to marriage. **(5 of 11)**

I fairly enjoyed this book, though I feel the age gap kinda got to me. This didn't take away from anything as I still enjoyed the story, just my opinion

Slow but solid

It took what took like forever for these two to even get, close to touching and the ages seemed to not match the actions of either character but it was a sweet sow burn and I enjoyed the read.i even like how it ended....sweet and loving. Nice book.enjoy.

Good

Desiree may have been young but she knew what she wanted and didn't stop herself from having it all. Good job.
