Alicia’s life has gotten rather complicated, as she had to flee Earth and make a new start. She didn’t want to play the political games with the rulers of Earth, to submit to their overbearing control, or to even fight back. She chose a different path and went her own way.
It’s a month later, and the first batch of scientists have just arrived on Minerva station. She has many issues to face trying to establish and run a new world. If that wasn’t difficult enough, she also has some challenges from without.
Unfortunately for Alicia, Earth’s leadership has a hard time letting go of things.
I've been an avid book reader since I was a teenager in the 1980's. My preferred genre's are science fiction and fantasy.
I wrote some short stories and was encouraged to try writing and self publishing by some friends. I work in computers and writing is an obsessive hobby I have been trying to hone for a couple of years now. I'll let you judge if I have succeeded or not.
Nice series overall. I see the author left an out for future books if so desired, which is also interesting, though the author has said there will be no more, I for one would welcome more in the series. I always have liked space adventures with lots of fun thrown in to make a great rolicing tale. Kind of disappointed there will be no more in the series, but I did enjoy the ones that there were, so it's all good. If you like space adventures, then you're likely to like this collection, they are somewhat similar to the April series by Macky Chandler, you might like this series too then.
I have enjoyed this series and would have been happy to read more books about Alicia, especially if they were more along the lines of the first few books. The problem I had with this book is that they have become a bit boring. In the notes at the end of the book the author says that the end of the series wrote itself, but I think that this was because he got bogged down with writing about self-serving politicians and in effect wrote himself into a cul-de-sac.
Wow this was full of excitement and drama. Alicia and all her good friends as well as the people that aren't her friend but are those that she encounters. Have provided humor and excitement through 6 exciting novels and I was privileged to go on the thrilling ride also Thank You DL Harrison❗ 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟❗
I really enjoy the author's SciFi books. Quick reads, great plots, love the introduced technology with really great characters albeit them being a little altruistic at times.
Finally everything comes together. The story is full strength friendship, some losses and lots and lots of action! What a thrilling conclusion to this wonderful series. I will really miss this.
This whole series is a bit of a mess. The premise and even the stories are good. I don't think the writer even bothered to go back and read what they'd written: bad phrasing, the occasional sentence that doesn't make sense, use of the wrong word(s) and bad punctuation ... all in excessive quantities throughout the books. I read them all to find out where the story would go. I would not recommend this to anyone who hates tripping over bad/missing editing. :(
Sample -- very minor -- problem from this book: 'This stuff is top secret, only the people in this room really knows all of it.' Typo? Should be, 'This stuff is top secret, only the people in this room really know all of it.'
Another good story in the Alicia Jones universe and a fitting end, at least for this arc. DL indicated this would be the last book in the series, but I think there is a great opportunity for a second arc or possibly a new series, set in the same universe, but 50 or more years in the future. I would be very interested in reading about how Earth rejoins the galactic community after their 'time-out' is over.
