People fear me. People bow to me. I'm used to being recognized everywhere I go. When she literally ran into me—inside my own house—it was clear she had no clue who I was. I expected that to piss me off. It did the opposite. I'd only meant to play with her a little, flirt a bit... tease. This was my home turf, after all; getting her alone would be easy. I can have any woman I smile at, why should she be different? Then she learned I was a billionaire. That I was the brother to the groom for the wedding she was in charge of planning on my estate. The risk of losing her job was too much for her; she changed gears, became all business. She thinks she can resist my charms? It's too late. I want her... and I always get what I want.
This cover isn't that great in my opinion. It's a little on the boring side and the composition feels off to me with the placement of the text. I like the font used, though.
I was enjoying this one a lot. It was well-written. Nicely paced. Had hot sex scenes. Likable main characters. No OW/OM drama. Basically no angst. It was just all going so well. That is until the end!
WTF was that? It was like the author just stopped writing. Yes, I am aware I can sign up for the author's newsletter to get a "1 year in the future" epilogue. But how about just including that in the book I PAID for?!
Beautiful, hot, aesthetic, sensual sex-scenes without using the verb beg. (Personal thank you, Luke Steel!!!)
Absolutely perfection, loved every second of it.
The plot was nice too. I had a feeling the author knew the topic well.
The heroine was nice and sweet, but not shy sexually. (Thanks heaven not a delicate flower with hormonal disorder; I mean this heroine could built meaningful sentences even being fully aroused.) Can you feel my love for strong women? ;-) This one wasn’t on my Top list, but definitely not weak.
Loved the hero. Strong but caring, hot but sweet, sexy but not a manwhore. I wouldn’t say no to him! *lol*
There was no OM/OW. No information about previous sexual experience. But nobody was a virgin – Hallelujah!
My inner slut had only one complain – not enough sex! And since I try to coexist friendly with her I agree – we wanted more sex!!!
August 5th: read and approved. Quick, light read with zero drama and conflict. Just good feelings and extremely hot moments. This female mc should be standard in romance books. Women can actually think, talk and move around a hot man.
I swear, these titles never make any damn sense. What does "dirty in charge" even mean? I probably don't want to know.
Anyway, this was actually a super charming and sweet little novella told from a mostly male POV. I was expecting to give it 4 stars...right up until the end, when the book tells you you must subscribe to the author's newsletter in order to finish the book. What the hell?
Were it not for that, I would have rated this much higher.
To be honest, I skipped a few scenes.. Yes I'm very very ashamed.. I love to read, but this one wasn't what I thought it was from the blurb. Still I liked to see Justine on her place, what a blah.. I'm glad it was a short read or otherwise I would've not finished it maybe? Who am I kidding I always finish everything!
Don't take my review to rough because I think I'm in a sad book place.. I'm going on a quest to find THE ONE ;)
This was the first book I read by this author and it was pretty good! A good story and lots of sexy scenes...what's not to like? Though I would've preferred the epilogue at the end of the book instead of having to hit a link and probably having to sign up for a newsletter to get to read it. I passed on getting it since I want to complete my review and get to reading my next book.
Once again the author manages to pack a fully rounded story within a short read. Emma is an event planner who's at James's family estate planning a week-long, over-the-top wedding for his brother and his bride. And I do mean, over-the-top, lol.
Releasing the lanterns at night sounded absolutely gorgeous though, and as usual Steel gives just enough description so that you can picture the setting, without bogging down the story. Sexy and likable hero, likable heroine, and smoking hot sex scenes.
Ben sevdim.
Who doesn't love a wedding, a week long house party and a hot gazillionaire. Throw in an attractive intelligent event designer and you have the perfect sexy romance. James Blake has restored the family home and is hosting his brothers wedding. He is instantly attracted to Emma, and why wouldn't he be. She's intelligent, an amazing designer and has great 'features'. The feeling is mutual and before we know it they are off to the pool room for a little relaxation of the best kind. As always Luke Steel's side characters are interesting, I wouldn't mind meeting Joe before he met Lena and the way the wedding, house and surrounds are described is just lovely. It's a quick read perfect for any time and of course the sex is sizzling in that Luke Steel style.
Hot damn! This book was off the charts, crazy H-O-T! I absolutely loved the feisty female MC, Emma. She knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to indulge and take just simply take it. And then the big, tough-as-nails CEO who made me melt into a puddle. A quick, easy and fun read.
I received an ARC copy of the book from the author.
I REALLY enjoyed this book (though I don't quite understand the title). This was my second Luke Steel book and he's become a must read author for me. This story was fun and unique, with the perfect billionaire meets working girl story line. There was instalove and hot pursuit and even a villain! The scenes were HOT and I loved how feisty Emma is and how determined James is. I think my favorite part though, is that while the story ends with HEA, it's not the traditional type (no epilogue with wedding bells and babies). I will continue to "one-click" whatever Mr. Steel puts out!
James Blake has agreed to host his borther's wedding in their old but renovated home called Blake House. The bride-to-be has choosen to have a theme wedding and that is how he meets wedding planer Emma. Emma first dosen't know the hot man she flirts with is the owner of Blake house. Once she finds out she decides that it's better to stay away but James is having non of that. He refuses to let Emma go. And so we are left with a sexy, funny and a must read story.
I loved this book! It was well written and it flowed great. They had some bumps to get over but the book was upbeat and positive. Sometimes writers bog you down in inner monologue and it makes you feel tired. This book flowed and took you for a ride, that you can't believe it is over. My one sour note! STOP THE SUBSCRIBE TO GET THE HEA! Please! It really makes me mad.
Emma is an event designer/planner and is doing a wedding at a historical location. James is the owner of the historical house and the groom's brother. They meet and sparks fly. It is a week long event and they cannot stay away from each other. This is a sexy love story and it is kind of sweet too. Luke Steel is an amazing writer and I love the male POV. He is a must read!
No epilogue. Why do I have to subscribe to a mailing list to get bonus pages? Is that a trend now? Can't we just have that in the book we paid for? Sigh why is there no epilogue? Like even a few months after? Ugh I just felt the story to be incomplete because I didn't know what happened after! Ok rant over. ------------------------------
I signed up and in a few minutes I received the 1 year after epilogue.
James Blake is hosting a week house party to celebrate the wedding of his brother Joseph and, at the same time, reopen the family's ancestral home after bringing it back to its former splendor. Emma Whitman is the woman in command, the event planner in charge of the festivities. As soon as they meet, there's an instant connection and Emma will flirt with handsome James until she realizes he's the owner of the place. Unfortunately for her, James is a shrewd businessman and is used to negotiating until he seals the deal at hand in his favor. I have to say, I really enjoy this author works. These are short stories and I like to think of them as insta-lust with a twist as they start as a fling, scorching sex with NSA that could turn into so much more and I really enjoy them. They are quick, sexy reads with nicely developed characters that will always leave you wanting more.
James is a wealthy man, having been able to restore his family home after being abandoned for generations, it's the perfect location for his little brother's wedding and gift to his family. He wedding is to be a week long event and themed to the brides request. At the house is where he meets Emma, the event planner. He's instantly drawn to her and knows she feels the same, but she has a job to do and can't be distracted, especially with the owner of the house and technically boss for the week. But James, the charming and relentless man that he is, is able to convince Emma that a little play time on the job isn't all bad. Only he's not just wanting her for the week he wants her forever.
I was given an advanced copy of this book and was hooked instantly. This is the third book I've read from Luke Steel and to me it was so different from his first two. The first two, Hard Boss and Hungry Boss were very hot and heavy reads from within the first couple chapters, which I loved. This book however was more slow paced and you were able to feel the connection form between the two characters and I absolutely loved that, not to say that there weren't some hot and hell scenes in the book, cause holy cow there were some hot as hell scenes in this book lol James is a sweetheart, he loves his family and wants them all to be happy and once he meets Emma he's a pile of sexy mush. He wants nothing more then to touch her and feel her but he makes it clear in the beginning with his body language that until he knows she wants the same, his hands are to be kept to himself. He doesn't pressure her into anything, he simply tries to get to know her and all he wants is her phone number so that AFTER the ceremony he can call her. Emma is perfect, I love how the author writes his leading ladies. She is a bit shy but is dedicated and damn good at her job. When she sees James she knows she attracted to him, then she starts to get to know him and can't help the feelings she having, but he's gorgeous and successful and wealthy, what does she have to offer? I loved James and Emma, and I absolutely LOVED this book. Another win Mr. Steel!
Emma and James have that first instant connection. Everything after that is the dance. Her flirtatious looks, his unavoidable response. All before he knew her name and she his.
He is the boss. She's the hired help. But that's not how it feels. Dirty, hot, passionate and right. She's sweet and responsive. He's got only Emma on his mind.
The wedding and all the excitement, as well as a jealous boss, keep things awkward. He stands up for her, together they make Joe and Lena's big day something of a fairytale. Their time is in the shadows, and After!
I recieved this book as an arc and i am giving my honest review voluntarily. This Luke Steel was totally different and I loved it. We still get our handsome hot shot ceo James but were not in the office. He's hosting his brother wedding at his family estate he has restored. When they arrive a women comes running yelling at the James turns and grabs her preparing for an attack. It's instant sparks and they both feel it. Emma is the wedding designer and she's there to give the bride her prefect day. But when James catches her she can't stop thinking about him. After their first encounter they both can't get enough. Emma just fits in to their family and shes falling for him. But Emma's boss is not happy and tries to ruin everything. Can James pull off a surprise to save the wedding and maybe Emma's job? Will Emma finally give James her number? This is a must read if you want it all.
