My name is Ian O'Rourke, and I have unfinished business--the bone-crunching and bloody kind.

Until a few months ago, I was a peace-loving Oklahoma farmer, but now, I'm a magical weapon. I fight sorcerers for a clan of druids in Boulder.
I'm a natural-born warrior, it turns out, but that isn't good enough when my main target is Raul Escobar, the head sorcerer in the region. He's one of the monsters who slaughtered my closest kin a few months ago, and I haven't forgotten.
At the moment, though, he's too strong for me to take on. So I'm working my way up the food chain, picking off the sorcerers who carry out his orders and protect him.
With each hard-fought win, I get stronger, but the risks are high. One loss and I'm dead, or worse, I'd become Escobar's slave. Every time I win, though, I get closer to wrapping my hands around his neck and squeezing the life out of him. That happy prospect makes every risk worth taking.

Book one in this series, Lone Survivor, is available in the Kindle Store. ASIN B06W56NTWM. Book three in the series, Vengeance, is also available. ASIN B06XCCP63Q. And thanks for reading!

Another fast-paced action packed story

I like that Ian is learning more about his various magic types, even though it started out as sheer survival necessity. Even though he is gaining in strength and ability relatively quickly, he is trying to not let it go to his head. I was going to add more about the story, but do not want to give too many details away. In this second book, the 'world' expands, an interesting mystery or two show up, and we meet more people (Both good and bad). On to book 3 now! :)

Wholly unsatisfying

While marginally better than the previous book the author leaves far to much unexplored. Characters are barely developed and inconsistent. The story itself is just thrown out there with no background at all. Who and what are the opposing sides? Why and how are they different and at odds? How do they exist in what is an otherwise normal world.

An interesting idea but poorly realized. The ways this series could be better are simply to many to enumerate.

Still Wondering

Just finished book 2 and I am still wondering what's the magical difference between a witch and a sorcerer besides the magical language. Are sorcerers born? Or is it a choice they make early in their magical career? Can a sorcerer become a witch? And vice versa ...
