Many years ago, Sue-Ellen fell in love with the golden-haired boy held prisoner by her uncle. She did everything she could to keep him safe, even forsaking her family. But would Samael do the same?
When he finally escapes his prison life, she thinks they’ll finally have their happily ever after.
Wrong. So wrong.
A mating between them has been forbidden because she is a mere shifter while he is the golden dragon the world has been waiting for. The one foretold.
What the world doesn’t know is Samael plans to conquer humanity—unless someone stops him, and she might have just found the only weapon that can.
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
4th book in the Dragon Point series. Pretty good. Paranormal romance on the lighter side of the genre. Can be read as a standalone but better if you’ve read the previous book.
After years of being under rule of her uncle, Sue-Ellen has had it now with Samuel too. Turns out he is not the boy she thought he was. When Samuel drops her into a pit she discovers the true golden dragon and boy she fell in love with all those years ago. Too bad he doesn’t remember her!
I seem to remember this exact scenario from some other book but can’t remember who or when. But the escape was different so maybe it was just a sneak peak or part of the earlier book.
Entertaining and of course this author throws in twists and in the last page or two, a hint of what’s to come in the next book. Yes, it’s already in my tbr pile.
Safety - *Samuel is not the boy she meet when she was young and had a connection to. Turns out he was that boys brother. Samuel and her kiss/ almost have sex. I think for six years she believes this. Off page - I found this (Samuel not being the hero) totally annoying and pretty much ruined the book. I absolutely hated that surprise. You did find out super early but it was still annoying as fuck. *The real one - Remiel - the one she has a connection with made a deal to keep her safe. In deal the he lost his memory of her and she is to be kept safe. He did lose his memory of her until he meets her again. During this time he didn't remember her he did have sex with women that were sent to seduce him. Off page * She is still a virgin Remiel is of course not.
I went into this book expecting it to be the last of the series with our golden Dragon Foretold. However, Eve Langlais has gotten good at surprising twists that extend the series past the anticipated series arc. If you like these kinds of twists, I urge you to try her Space Gypsy Chronicles.
We met Sue-Ellen in previous books, and I remembered her as Brandon's bratty sister. The one who rebuffed him cruelly when he came to rescue Sue-Ellen from her sadistic Uncle Parker. But now that Parker is dead, Sue-Ellen is still hanging around, staying for the sake of young love, but starting to chafe at the bit of the situation to which she obligated herself. Of course just when Sue-Ellen is ready to return to the bosom of her reptilian family, things go awry, as they tend to do. For the most part, I liked Sue-Ellen as a heroine. There were a couple of times where she ran or turned away from our hero, which I'm not a fan of... but those instances were kept to a minimum and didn't set the tone for the romance.
Our hero is a golden dragon, with all the dragony traits that we have seen in the previous books of the series. Being the dragon foretold has certainly boosted our guy's ego into the stratosphere, not that other dragons are really any better. So we have some diverging interest with the dragons... world domination on one hand and his all important hoard (i.e. Sue-Ellen), on the other. While our dragons are not warm and fuzzy, they are possessive and steamy when it comes to their mates. I did like our hero, but I don't want to say too much about his character and give away the twisty turns in this plot.
The silver sect of dragons from the previous stories do come back into play in Dragon Foretold, so you can expect all of the entertaining antics from the previous book. Then add in Brandon and his protective side over his little sister, and you have mucho testosterone flying around.
The romance moved along at a steady clip as well, but this one seemed a bit less steamy than the earlier books. That could be because we had a virginal heroine and a hero who was dealing with being the dragon king. So for my smutty followers, know that this one is only offering up one major instance of sexytime, and the rest is left to your imagination. That didn't bother me and I think I liked this story the best so far of the series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this audiobook that I received from the publisher, Tantor Audio.
so many chapters but too fast to finish. surprises and more suprises. This one was about greed and protection and it was somehow a bit swoon worthy.... a dragon can really talk crudein a sweet way. the only hoard.... Thought about this one being the last? wrong wrong, because surprises til the end, just more characters new ones and old ones.
I absolutely love this series. This is fine Sue Ellen's story and I don't want to go into the story that much cause either would spoil it. Poor Sue Ellen has been stuck with her evil uncle for years when he is finally killed you think she'd be free. But alas she can't leave she stays for Samuel but does Samuel really want her or was he just using her to. Omg y'all this books had me spinning in all directions. So many surprises. I didn't see coming. I thought this was the last in the series but squeal it's not there's more and I can't wait. I absolutely love these dragons and I highly recommend this series.
My review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at Hotlistens.com.
We meet Sue-Ellen early in the Dragon Point series. If you’ve started this series, you will remember her as the sister of Brandon Mercer, the hero of Becoming Dragon, the first book in the series. She leaves her mother and brother to go live with her rich Uncle Theo (aka Parker). She seems really happy, that is until she upsets her uncle.
The story starts off years ago. Sue-Ellen is snooping around in her uncle’s office to find a hidden door in the bookcase (doesn’t everyone want a secret room behind a bookcase? Why do only villains get to have these, I ask with all seriousness.) She finds a boy strapped to a hospital bed. She feels a connection to him and she stays with her uncle to stay with him.
I don’t want to say much more, because there are spoilers to earlier books in the series. I will just say that this continues to be a very fun and hilarious series by Eve Langlais but with dragons. Who doesn’t love dragons?
The one thing I will say that just a little bit disappointed about this story is that there is something about the characters that Eve has used before (and fairly recently, in a different series). I felt like I was reliving that book just a teeny bit. I do know that this one will be different, but still it disappointed me a bit. I still greatly loved this book even with that slight disappointment. I wouldn’t tell anyone who has already read the other series to not read this one or the other way around. I know that is very vague, but I’m trying to avoid spoilers for both series. I’m sorry if I’m going around in circles.
Narration Chandra Skyye continues with the narration of this series. I’ve written a ton of reviews with her narration. I like her, but I don’t love her. I don’t think her range of voices is very large, but she does a good job. I would like to see her bring out the humor a bit more.
Dragon Foretold by Eve Langlais (Dragon Point Book 4)
My favorite book in the Dragon Point series by Eve Langlais ties in many of the previous stories while weaving a surprising, exciting, crazy romantic adventure and a climax with great twists and turns.
The latest story brings us back to Sue-Ellen, a gator Shifter who sneaks away with her Uncle Theo for a "better life" being spoiled by all his money and living in his mansion. Things are not as they seem though and Sue- Ellen gets hit with some unpleasant realities about her dear uncle.
While exploring the mansion she comes across a secret room where a young dragon Shifter is chained down and being experimented on. The rare golden dragon Shifter Samael, awakens long enough to believe Sue-Ellen to be his angel and claims her as his own. Unfortunately he is a prisoner and the evil uncle now uses his niece to keep the rebellious dragon Shifter in line and get what he wants (his blood, DNA etc for experiments). There is a turn of events years later when the uncle dies and those held prisoner are freed. Sue-Ellen finds that Samael has changed and not for the better.
Turns out there is a brother who has been hidden away and had his memory swiped, Remiel, who plays an important part in Sue -Ellen's past and future.
The snarky dialogue between the dragons and the other characters (especially the interactions with Sue-Ellen),as well as the narcissistic personalities of the dragons provides delightful hilarity throughout the book.
An awesome story filled with adventure, excitement, secrets and betrayals, laugh out loud humor, and phenomenal twists and turns. Really can't get enough of this series, please tell me there will be more books coming.
OMG – this is the best book yet in the series! We’ve caught glimpses of Sue-Ellen through the first three books, now we get to learn her story. Was she really willingly staying with Uncle Theo? Could he possibly be a loving uncle to her, and give her the life she longed for? BZZZT – wrong answer!
Who exactly is Samael? Is he her knight in golden scales, or is he hiding an agenda of his own? With the death of her captor, Sue-Ellen must decide what she wants out of life, and who she wants to spend it with. Samael has changed since they first met, and not in good ways. Was he pretending then, or is he pretending now? And what is this Anastasia chick all about, and what is she to Samael? It’s all too much for a simple swamp gator girl to deal with!
Fate decides to throw Sue-Ellen yet another curveball, and everything she thought she knew turns out to be wrong. Will Remiel save her, or cause her more heartache? He’s been living in the pit for years, mostly content. The introduction of this little hellcat makes him start to remember things from his past that he’d been coerced into forgetting. Can he keep her? Should he keep her? How would she taste roasted over a fire with just the right amount of seasoning? Why does he feel he knows her? As the memories come back, it all falls into place.
Now Samael wants her back, but Remiel isn’t interested in giving her up.
* You need to have read the previous books to fully understand the complete story.
Sue-Ellen has told her brother off when he was trying to save her from here evil uncle. She has to protect the boy with the golden hair Samuel from her uncle and the evil priestess Anastasia. Then Samual starts to change and Sue-Ellen starts to wonder if she made the right choice.
Pro's: + Sue-Ellen is written really well. At some point she mentiones not being able to shift again, but you're reading her talking to her other voice so you know there is something there ( just not the gator she was before). + The story was really fast-paced and I was not able to stop reading after starting the story. There are so many twists and turns, definitely one of the best storylines in this series so far.
Con's: - Sometimes the story becomes a little bit abusive and I'm not completely sure if I like it our not.
This was definitely the best entry in this series yet. It was strong and there were some unexpected bits and some bits were some storylines from previous books were coming together. It felt really complete and I'm looking forward to read the next entry as there is a not-so-beloved character missing and I wonder if he gets what is coming to him.
I liked the story and all the wonderful twists the author threw at me. That undefinable 'more' is often hard to find and without spoiling too much, I will admit that I would have loved to find it on these pages.
The story - while great - could have been fleshed out a bit more. I didn't get any emotional punch from some of the events in the book. It also felt a bit unfinished near the end but I'll add that to the 'keep reading the series' list.
Why did I give it 3,5-4 stars if I feel this way? It was funny as hell and the narcissism these dragons exude reminds me of something from the pages of my unicorn author (GA Aiken/ Shelly Laurenston).
If you like funny paranormal stories then I'd definitely recommend this book to you!
It's review time 🎧 Warning ⚠️: shifters, experience, from alligator to dragon i will refer to this series as a whole because I listened to it as such.
Narrator score🎧 ; the narrator was good, she kept a great voice during the whole series.
Level of steam🔥: each book was quite hot, you had some slower pace and some faster but overall it was hot.
Level of anxiety and sadness😱😢: well you had some drama in some books more and in some less.... I couldn't feel a lot of sadness because the stories went in a fast pace but you had some drama.
The book itself📖: I think this series was fun. Its a world of shifters that was already created and its an after series so to speak... the first book reviled us a new species and the dragons world was quite interesting indeed, you had some interesting characters in this series. The first couple was cute and so were the others. A very nice series indeed
Samael is going to take over the world. He's the only known gold dragon and he demands everyone, dragon, human and shifter alike, bow to his rule. Sue-Ellen is in love with a monster, and she's done, she's got to leave. Except when she tells him that he won't let her go.
Finally we have Sue-Ellen's story, the one that's been hinted at right from the first book of the Dragon Point series and it's amazing. I can't go too much into depth in my review because I don't want to spoil everyone's reading adventure. But this story is full of twists and turns you won't see coming. I can't talk this story up highly enough. Eve Langlais has done it again will leave you both cursing and eager for more.
What I love about this series is that the male dragons are cocky and not at all bashful, "he wore pants now, well-worn track pants that hung low on his lean hips. He sported defined abs and a vee that… Her gaze jerked upward to his face. A corner of his lip curled. “Don’t stop on my account. Beauty such as mine should be admired.” Sue-Ellen's man really needed to work on his negotiating skills, “So we’ll have a nursemaid.” She glared at him. “Two nursemaids?” More glaring. “Perhaps we could tour the world first and then begin the begetting of our line.” I loved this book.
3.5 stars for a tale of Golden Dragons abounding. Once again a humorous story with narcissist dragons abounding. Unfortunately, it was just lacking something to make it great. I enjoyed the plot but found it seemed to run away on various silly points and then amble over to something else. I thought this was going to be the last book but the author has given us a wonderful twist so we will be getting more from this series. As much as this book was just a good read and not as fantastic as some of the others I will be reading the next book for sure.
This was a quick fun read. It was light on the smexy tiems but the world building and banter is good! There was an early plot twist where Sue (h) found out that her boyfriend Samael was not actually the boy she first met years ago. Remiel (H) is so hot and single-minded in his pursuit of Sue. He was funny and arrogant and I felt his sincerity in saying that his entire hoard is Sue.
This series just keeps getting better with each book! This one had a twist, which I loved, and some mystery, which was awesome, and gave one piece of closure while opening up a whole new situation. I really like that these books still have some fun to them, but they also have a bit more of a bite as well. The narration is spot on, making it all the better!
This, the fourth installment of the series, is packed full with revelations and surprises.
If you haven't read the first 3 books, stop now. The story so far is vital to understand all that happens in Dragon Foretold. And well worth the read too.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Sue-Ellen and Remiel made a life together along with their family. Very interesting concept if the cloaked one is the devil himself. Poor Samael won’t be having the best time in the next book. So let’s see how that goes. 🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜😊😊😊
Really enjoyed this one and there was an unexpected surprise at the end that has me looking forward to the next book! Really hope Deka is the next leading lady!
I think this one is my favorite in the series thus far. The characters are over the top and Eve Langlais is sheer comedy gold. Plus there's explicit romance and the happily ever after.
Sue Ellen finally gets a story of her own. Brandon and Wes tried protecting her from the uncle but her fate was sealed. Now she must choose between escape or love and deal with her choices.
