The Beauty of This Street Love #1

The Beauty of This Street Love: A Texas Tale

Rate this book
Those who knew the streets in Houston knew one thing for sure. The four brothers of the Kinsey Cartel were as crazy as hell. The oldest two, Tremell and Tristan, aka Tre and Tripp, might just have been the craziest of all. Crossing any of them could end your life, especially given Tre’s unique skills at murder. No one messed with them… until a pair of best friends, Shamar and Cyn, came in and turned Tre and Tripp’s world upside down.
Shamar Parker, a quiet college girl, found herself caught up in the game, given to Tre as collateral. Tre’s captive would soon become his lover and he vowed never to let her go. With an attitude the polar-opposite of her best friend, Cyn Murray stormed into Tripp’s life, demanding the return of her friend. In the process, she also stormed into his heart and Tripp knew he had to lock her down.
But the Kinseys’ old habits died hard and their lifestyle threatened to push the women they wanted most out of their lives. Can their love survive the streets?

A kidnapping, surprise babies, a drug cartel family with not one, not two, not three but four king pins?! 🗣️YES PLEASE!!! Give me all of my favorite tropes and storylines all rolled up into one good 🍑 series and I’m a happy camper.

This series starts out with a bang LITERALLY and it does not let up AT ALL! We have the Kinsey men and their women and what a wild ride they take us on. Tremell (Tre), Tristian (Tripp), Tyrese (Ty) and Tamir (Mir) ain’t nothing nice. On their own they’re a force but as a unit, they’re unstoppable! When you have educated, big 🍆, big 🔫 toting black men there’s nothing better and I loved all four brothers for different reasons. They all got on my nerves but when it was all said and done they all stole my heart! It’s too early in the series to tell who my favorite is but just know there’s plenty to go around ladies 😋

The Kinsey men run the show but don’t nothing move without papa Kinsey’s say so. He may be retired but don’t push him out of it because he’s forever coming guns blazing behind his family! After they find themselves in the middle of a war all bets are off and nobody is playing fair!

There was soooo much to unpack in this series that we would be here all day fooling with me. Just know that Elle Kayson delivers every time! I can’t wait to see how the rest of the series unfolds.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.2 Did somebody say kidnapping 🤔👀🧐?

Aye man ayyyyyeeeeee, imagine getting held hostage because your bother is a thief 😂! Then you end up falling for your deranged “captor!” This book had me locked in from the 1st chapter!

Tremell “Tre” Kinsey & Shamar K’Shay Parker, mmmhmmmm!! They might be my favorite couple so far!

A lot unfolded, a lot was revealed! A ton of goofy people joined the mix & I’m excited 😂🤣.!

I’m moving right into part 2, because although this book was bomb, a lot of these stories are unfinished! I just need moreeeeeee, Elle Kayson did a good job on wetting the peoples whistle’s 😂🤣..

This is exactly the story I was in the mood for. I’ve been trying to find a GOOD, good girl and a thug romance. I absolutely love Elle Kayson’s writing style, the multiple POVs that are cleanly written so you have the best vantage point or narrator for the story. The way she will have the characters address the read, the banter that is always well timed. The depth of the characters in this one I absolutely loved. You can tell the author has a clear vision for who their personalities and they true to them in ways that don’t hinder the pace of the story at all. But they aren’t switching up to do things they wouldn’t do to drive the story either which is a rarity. I knew there was another book but I wasn’t expecting a cliffy, it’s small but it was setup well. I’m really excited to see what kind of growth rhe characters make in the next book, because everyone has some growing up to do. This was just a great read. The plot isn’t overly complicated but has a suspenseful element to it. There isn’t an excess of filler moments and the amount of smex and romance are well balanced. Kayson really is a dynamic writer and I’m enjoying getting to read more of her work.

Welcome to Death Row…aka the Kinsey Cartel family
A good girl and thug romance done right. 👏🏾 I was thoroughly entertained by this hilarious group of characters. The Kinsey brothers are absolutely nuts, with Tre being the most ruthless lunatic of them all. Somehow a kidnapping lead to him and his equally insane brother, Tripp, unexpectedly falling in love with good girl Shay and her bestie, Cyn. Reading this book felt like watching a comedy. I’ll definitely be continuing the series!

My God the cliffs we hang from! This book introduced us to many characters, best friends finding their loves, hearts being shattered, darkness finding their lights. Whew I was not prepared to be engulfed by so much. Yet Ma Elle Kayson knows how to drop a story boo!

So glad I don't have to wait on book 2.

Queen Elle Kayson is a new author recommended by my Booski. I thoroughly enjoyed my first read by her "Demon's Dream"🔥🔥🔥🔥, so I was excited to see what this series would bring. Outside of some of the dumb unnecessary ish they do out was a pretty good read.
Them Kinsey brothers were something else. Tri really effed up when he crossed them. Because of his reckless behavior his sister gets caught up in his ish.
Tripp was a trip fr😔but, once he crossed paths with Cyn who came to try and get her bestie Shay back and got so much more. That man know he loved her and her baby Cynna. How she treated him at the end was effed up😡. I knew her baby daddy was the opps from jump🤷🏽
Tamir almost losing his life brings back his forever love but, Tamar catches her out and finds out she's holding one hell of a secret😳👀👀👀.
Tre & Shay💕. The way these two came about was so untraditional but, Tre was a goner the moment he laid eyes on her. This educated thug rules with an iron fist and handles his enemies in way that ain't for the weak. Now he had me beyond pissed how he seemed to lose his brain with his h** a** ex Kitarah pops back up😔😡. Tamir warned him and he didn't listen and now he's suffering the consequences. Now that ish Shay tried to pull was beyond petty🙄. Like be mad sis, make that ninja suffer for the phuck boy ish he pulled but, you don't try to hide your pregnancy🙄.
So looking forward to what 2 brings.

4.5 🌟 This was perfect for scratching my “Demon's Dream” itch! I love me some Elle Kayson for sure.

And the Kinsey brothers are something else!!! I'm not sure who I loved more, but I definitely gravitated towards Tremell's mysterious, dark, slightly unhinged, possessive self most... What can I say??? He's my type of man (in another life). 🙃🤤 But these plot twists were coming left & right in the end like haymakers from Muhammad Ali in his prime, & I was here for it!!!!!

Read this in less than 24 hours while in the midst of mommy duties, because it was just that GOODT. Definitely starting the next one before I get up to start my day, because the way the cliffhanger left my mouth on the floor is criminal! 😳 Messy drama with possessive MCs seems to be my type of read currently, & I ain't mad at it. Elle Kayson getting me right!

5⭐️ The Kinseys Brothers!!!! 🤭😩
So many different relationships bloomed through the craziest circumstances

Elle Kayson really has a skill to narrate the story from so many different povs, yet have them toe together wonderfully.

If you loved Demon’s Dream, you’ll love this series. The men are just as unhinged, protective, loving with a spice bottle of toxic 😅

This was okay.
The Kinsey brothers didn't do it that much for me.
Tremell known as Tre and Tristan aka Tripp are the two eldest sons in the Kinsey Cartel in Houston.
The brothers were a bit all over the place for me. Tre and Tripp came across quite childish instead of dangerous or intimidating. Tre was the more interesting one for me and although I enjoy that the author features more than one couple in her books, this time the book could have benefited from only one main couple, as it was quite convoluted at times, especially when the exes came into the picture.
Cyn and Shamar rescued this story from being below 3 star. I loved their friendship and how different they were. A lot of funny conversations between the two of them.

I think my main criticism is there isn't enough backstory on some things for me. There is also a lack of description throughout the entire book. It jumps from dialogue to dialogue, without pause.

I enjoyed the last 30% a lot and good decision to leave it on a cliffhanger, to peak the interest of the reader as I probably wouldn't want to read the second book without it.

A lot going on but keep reading

3.5 stars
There almost too many people to keep track of in this book. And, full confession, I got people confused a good number of times while reading. It didn’t decrease my enjoyment of the book, beware I did enjoy it, but it takes some brain power to keep folks straight.
This story starts off with kidnapping and progresses from there. There’s very graphic scenes of torture, talk/depictions of murder, attempted rape…so, head ALL of the trigger warnings. The sex scenes are also very descriptive but no one in a relationship is forced into doing anything they don’t want to do. However, if you’re uncomfortable with having the guy called “Daddy” and reading crazy hot sex scenes, this book isn’t for you.
This story doesn’t necessarily end in a cliff hanger but it definitely isn’t complete. Expect to read books 2 and 3 to figure out what’s happening with the Kinsey family and the people who they’ve chosen to love.

Potential

This book was super childish! The concept is good but the delivery is off, With more imagery and better language this book could be so much better. The misuse of “damned” annoyed the F out of me. The over use of he scared me but I liked it also annoying. The quick little chapters was that of the Buford series in middle school.

O.M.G what was that? What an intro, wow..just wow!!!

For a couple days, weeks even, every time I am on the prowl, looking and searching for a good book (old or new author), I would see a book by this author, skipped it, keep it moving, but will always return, read the synopsis and still grab something else. But not this time and was I so happy at not doing that? Yes, yes, yes...
This was truly a great penmanship, a wonderful read with so minimal errors that the book, lines, and words just flowed together.
Shamar "shay" is truly the epitome good girl. Smart, educated, a gentle person at heart, eautiful inside and out and just downright your girl next door, and the only thing she has is her little brother for her with a deranged mother.
Cyn is not your girl next door but still a good girl who was dealt an bad hand, got hard, yet is not only the opposite of Shay but the best BFF that one could want along with Devynn...
Tremell "true" well, all I got is Wowza and where can I get me one. He is bae 365days a year, 24/7, albeit with a bad temper and extremely stubborn streak but he means so well. Handsome, sexy, and very well endowed, he is the alpha of his pack and the best.
Tristan "Tripp" another bae, a more laid back alpha but he is not as hardcore as true, more like a very, very strong beta.
Tyreese "ty", Tavion, Tamir "Mir " are all the other alpha in their houses but respectively, they conclude the pack for these ruthless men. Also baes....
Then there is Tamar, the sister, who was slightly introduced but seems to be the apple of their hearts and I guess will be more in depth in the coming books.
This was a cute start, a weird, hard thug, gangster, kingpin type of books, because truthfully for them to be so ruthless, but can go to the car wash in broad daylight and be alone 🙄🤔 Humm, and they have enemies but on this day, no bother (something doesn't add up) but pass that, I am enjoying this new discovery in being MS. Kayson....

Holy moly, buckle up buttercup because this series is a wild ride of epic proportions! We're talking about kidnappings, surprise babies, and not one, not two, not three, but FOUR kingpins from a drug cartel family! Can you even wrap your head around it? I couldn't either, but let me tell you, it's all here and it's absolutely scrumptious!

Right from the get-go, this series bursts with energy and it doesn't slow down for a second. The Kinsey men - Tremell, Tristian, Tyrese, and Tamir - are a force to be reckoned with. Each of them is impressive on their own, but when they join forces, they're an unstoppable powerhouse. And let me just say, these educated, well-endowed, gun-toting black men are a sight to see. I couldn't help but fall head over heels for all of them, even though they did get on my nerves from time to time. But hey, that's all part of the fun, right?

But hold on, there's even more to this story! Papa Kinsey might be retired, but don't you dare count him out. He's always ready to jump back into the fray, guns blazing, to protect his family. And let me tell you, when this family gets caught in the crossfire of a war, all bets are off. Nobody is playing nice, and the stakes have never been higher.

This series is so full of surprises and thrills that it's impossible to do it justice in just one paragraph. Elle Kayson really knows how to spin a captivating tale every single time. I'm on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating the next book to see where the story goes next. Trust me, you do not want to miss out on this crazy, exhilarating journey!

Tremell was a killer, when it came to the Kinsey brothers. Tremell had fell in love with Shamar, who was Tremell's weakness. Everything was going well, until Katerah came into the picture. Katerah hadn't been anything but trouble, since stepping back into Tremell's life.

Tripp and Cyn were so cute together. You could feel the love that Tripp had for Cyn and Cynaa, so I don't get why Cyn would take it to her heart, that Tripp would do anything to hurt Cynaa. I hope she finds it in her heart to forgive Tripp, and they could move on. It was just Cynaa's father that Tripp wanted, nothing more, and nothing less.

When it came to Chantal, in the end, why did the baby matter? Did Chantal have Tamir's baby, and haven't told him, or the family? Was that the reason for Tamar's reaction? I didn't understand the ending, but the storyline was just ok.

This book was more about the two older brothers Tre and Tripp!

The ladies were night and day. Cy was feisty one while Shamar was quiet and somewhat meek that Tre called her “Mousy” LOL 😂. Shamar could get feisty sometimes, but she has to get extremely upset!

Tre is psychotic and to be paired with Shamar was a sight to see because she has to be strong to handle him vs. meek and mild!

Tripp got a lot of groveling to do; however, I would have liked to know how old Cyn child is. There was no back story on this!

The end SMH. I don’t care how upset someone is with a child’s father, they should not let that parent know etc.

Of course, there’s always drama with trifling exes coming out the woodwork!

OK, so this was pretty good and I actually really enjoyed it. I like her riding style. But damn, this book has so many point of views. I mean like everybody got their own point of view even the side characters like what the fuck I just don’t like how the dudes talk about the girls in this book like that’s probably the one of the only things that really annoyed me like the way they was talking about their girls and other girls while they’re in basically relationships I was not feeling that but the book was really good. I’m definitely gonna continue on with the little series or whatever but I like her writing so I think this author is for me.

It’s something about a fine man kidnapping you thinking you in danger but the only thing in danger is that 🐱. Lol. Omg if kidnapping wasn’t like dangerous in real life I swear we’d all want to be kind of kidnapped 🤔🫣. Maybe? Then…even the friend got a man because of your kidnapping lol. Elle sure knows how to write a good entertaining body of work. Baby on the edge of my seat like ooh what happens next. Now I’m on to read book two because we can’t just rest now without knowing how everything about to be handled.

I read a different book from this author & it was great. Therefore I decided to read this series that follows the square nerdy girl Shamar, who tries to get her little brother out the game but instead falls for one of the Kinsey brothers that runs the streets instead. Tremell wasn’t expecting to fall for Shamar either but he does. The story unfolds telling their love story and also Shamar’s best friend Cyn also falling for another Kinsey brother. Overall I thought the book was decent so I’ll be reading the rest in this series.
