People of prayer or people sincerely wanting a life of prayer will love this book. Christians will love it although you need not be Christian to get a lot out of it.

The author identifies a number of characters from the Bible and describes their prayer life, what they prayed for and how they prayed and what their relationship with God was about.

I found it a very inspiring book. It start in the Old Testament with Moses, Hanna, Nehemiah and David; and moves on to the New Testament through Mary and Paul, culminating in Jesus.

The author skilfully unpacks the story of each person and what brought them to prayer and how they engaged with the Lord.

There are lots of hints and prayer principles throughout, and at the end of chapter there is a summary of lessons learned and a short prayer.

I liked it a lot.
