Rachel’s grandmother in Pennsylvania left a large home to Rachel and her mother, Miriam. When the two women move from Ohio to claim the house, planning to turn it into a B&B, they are shocked to see it is in desperate need of repair. To make matters worse, their nearest Amish neighbor, Isaac, is rude to them, yet Rachel is strangely drawn to him.
Will Isaac be able to overcome his past and love again? How will Rachel and her mother turn a derelict house into a B&B, while keeping at bay treasure hunters, rival B&B owners, and Isaac’s attitude?
USA Today Best-selling author Ruth Hartzler spends her days writing, walking her dog, and thinking of ways to murder somebody. That's because Ruth writes cozy mysteries and adventures. She is best known for her archaeological adventures, for which she relies upon her former career as a college professor of ancient languages and Biblical history.
Once I started reading this story I couldn't put it down. The author immediately allowed me to connect with the characters hopes and dreams. There is a bit of mystery along with a sweet romance blossoming as well. Fans of Amish fiction will love this story, but honestly anyone looking for a well written story about new beginnings will enjoy it as well. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
Another great book provided by my kindle unlimited subscription.
I really enjoyed reading reading book 1 in this series when I first starting reading this book I could not put it down this is the first book I have ever read from this author cannot wait to read book 2 in this series.
I was so disappointed with this book there were only 81 pages in my NOOK - in my opinion when a book is part of a series the first book sets the tone, develop the characters and slowly start tell the story. This first book introduced the characters but did not flesh them out, there are alot of questions as to why the 2 main female characters decided to come, why the neighbors feel as they do, etc. etc.
This book could've used some fleshing out. The premise sounded cool but the writing was very simplistic. I felt it was written for a much younger audience.
There was no real character development and the author did more telling than showing. I won't be reading the other books in the series.
Love this author she is very good. This story is about two women who inherited a big house which they wish to open as a Bed and Breakfast. They run into some stumbling blocks. A good storyline as well as great characters. I recommend this book
Rachel and her mother Miriam inherit a house perfect for a B&B from Rachel's grandmother. It was in far worse shape than explained to them. Their neighbor starts off hostile and the B&B owner in town has shopkeepers in town refuse them service. Vandalism occurs. Amish Trust is the first in the series by Ruth Hartzler. Will it all come out right for them?
