My name is Zhara and my life has been turned upside down. I’ve spent the last couple of years pretending to be a good girl, and now I'm pretending to be Benton's girlfriend.
Benton is the leader of the Bad Boy Rebels, who as it turns out, work for a secret agency. And while I'm not quite sure, I think the Bad Boy Rebels want me to pretend to be a fake girlfriend for all of them, as part of an undercover project.
I'm starting to feel like I'm not such a good girl anymore...
Approx. 15,000 words.
EACH VOLUME IS A QUICK, FUN READ
Series extends over multiple volumes.
The Bad Boy Rebels series is a novella series that follows Zhara and six guys who are part of a secret detective program. It contains a lot of kissing, steamy scenes, with a bit of suspense, and mystery.
Jessica Sorensen is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author from the snowy mountains of Wyoming. When she's not writing, she spends her time reading and hanging out with her family.
Things I didn't like: 1. Too short. It gets annoying because of it. 2. Zhara is kind of naïve. 3. I really hate her mom. I don't care that she died, because that double standard with her children? I mean, she has like 5 or 6 kids, and the only one who doesn't get high or drunk as a hobby is Zhara. It's like she is the only child who must be perfect. 4. I hate Taylor. She is the worst friend ever. I mean, Zhara left Benton's party, and she doesn't text her? Doesn't ask her if she arrived home safely? 5. I hate Alexis. I was thinking about reading her book... now? Not so much. 6. BAD BOY REBELS. Why did Jessica Sorensen thought that THAT was a cool name? I can think of a better one for Benton's group of friends: cute little bunnies. 7. Seriously, these guys are undercover... whatever (I don't know if they are spies, policemen, or with the mob or something like that). They cannot drink beer, legally I mean, but they are undercover. Because that makes SO much sense.
What I like: It's been fun so far. I want to know what will happen.
No one does serial writing better than Jessica Sorensen. Discovering Zhara is a perfect example of her work. It's so enjoyable, although quite frustrating. A nibble at a time, as good as it is, just isn't enough.
During this installment Zhara gets to meet the Bad Boy Rebels and agrees to be their "girlfriend". We just get a brief glimpse of each; the quiet one, the grump, the stoner, the flirt, the leader. We also get a peak into Zhara's home and the overall mystery deepens with a new neighbor.
Such an entertaining little read. Hurry up with the next one please!
Yeah I like the idea of the story but not so much of the execution of it. Zhara might not think she's a good girl but she totally is and that can kind of get annoying. Found myself rolling my eyes most of the time at her thoughts and actions and can kind of see why the students think the way they do about her. I wish she would grow some backbone because if she's going to do this thing with the boys then she is desperately in need of one.
Not bad, filled with gramatical errors, but honestly doesn't bother me. I expect better from Jessica Sorenson. Don't start with this, if you haven't read her books before. This is very very cliche, and I feel like I've read this story a million times. Not bad for a quick morning read though. Extremely short at only 50 pages.
So far Zarah has met 6 of the guys she's going to be working with and all I can say is I really hope Xavier gets that stick out of his butt and stops bring such a jerk to Zhara.
I really enjoyed the second part of this book. Stories are short but sweet and keep you captivated. That's good character development and you can't help but enjoy all of the characters. The storyline so far is will they good and I can't wait to read the rest of them
Each of these feels like a little novella the nice thing is so many are out and they are coming out quickly. This one moves along nicely with some intriguing new developments.
Still enjoying these. They are short, very short. It's kinda like a tv show that comes on weekly. You get one episode at a time. I like Benton. I like the direction the story is headed. I'm not sure if it's going to be RH but it's a definite possibility.
Title: Discovering Zhara: Meeting the Bad Boy Rebels Author: Jessica Sorensen Series: Bad Boy Rebels, #2 Rating: 3.75 Stars
“I've entered Confusion Land where creepers and sexy bad boys roam free and apparently migrate to my house.”
In the second installment in the Bad Boy Rebels series, Zhara is introduced to the rest of the crew and we get to know a tad about each guy. We also get a closer look into Zhara's home and meet a new neighbor of hers.
A quick and enjoyable read but I just wish these novellas were longer as it's they're too good to be so short. And I'm off to the third book!
The suspense is building . Who is the neighbor? What is in Zhara's family? Will this idea work? So many questions. I am excited to find out what will happen next.
Ok again like I said before this is to short. Why can't Jessica just make this one good story? So because of that again it only gets four stars, four because what it does have is really good but minus the one bc it's not even to me a novella and should just be one whole really good book. I think it's good but would be even better if it was just one story. Zhara is starting to really get into something big and now it's even more of a pain to wait again for more of the story. Because it's so good but just stops wherever and has you waiting for more has me thinking, that I might just wait till not just the next book, but all of them are out so I can just read them straight through. This doesn't make it cool reading a little a time with long waits in between. Again Jessica, can you go back to writing full books? I really do like your books but not as basically teasers.
