Grace has never been happier. She and Kyle are embarking on a blissfully romantic weeklong cruise in the Caribbean and she is looking forward to sun filled days by the pool, exciting excursions on private islands, all you can eat delicious food, and moonlit nights in her new husband’s arms. And maybe, just maybe, tickets to the Dread Pirate Davy Jones Comedy Magic Show, one of the cruise’s most popular shows.
When the magician makes one of the passengers disappear in front of the audience, Grace is suitably amazed. However, when the passenger doesn’t reappear by the end of the show, Grace is suitably worried. Worried enough to do some sleuthing backstage.
When a dead body appears it’s up to Grace and Kyle to find the killer before they end up in Davy Jones’ Locker as well.

Cute, fun, simple, easy and quick read. It seemed a bit repetitive and for a second, i got confused with so many suspects, and a few of them i would not even consider secondary characters. I still got to the end, and when they discovered who did it.. i was still not really sure WHY they did it. Maybe i missed something. IDK. Overall though, I really liked the main protagonist and i was able to connect with her. I love to cruise so this is the perfect read to get prepared for our next trip!
Stunning! A cruise is just what they need to relax after their wedding. However they didn't count on a murder. Bodies appearing and disappearing add to the fun in this book. The ending might be a surprise to you (as it was to me). A terrific series that seems to find new angles and plots with every book.
Elizabeth Crabtree's books are always fun! This one was a crazy adventure ride as Grace & Kyle celebrate their honeymoon aboard a cruise ship. I really like the two main characters, they're so adorable together. Throw in a couple of oddball characters for laughs & several disappearances/murders & you have a highly entertaining whodunit! I thoroughly enjoyed this one & am looking forward to book 8. My only complaint- I missed Abry!
This is a wonderful series of books following Grace Holliday over a year and a half of her life.
In the first tale, she worries about her job and meets Kyle. This links her to a magic show and the murder of her boss's wife. Through school reunions, her holiday, a murder game, her wedding they both seem to end up being involved with a murder. So when it came to their honeymoon, it certainly appears to be a case of murder and missing bodies during a cruise.
Kyle's father went all out for the second week of their honeymoon. After spending time at one of Melody's cabins as their first part of their honeymoon, Kyle surprises her with the cruise. Expecting a pokey cabin she glories in the luxury cabin they have.
Looking forward to the cruise Grace enjoys waving goodbye and being held by Kyle. She found a kindred spirit in Courtney who also was waving at the general people on the dock. She starts chatting to Grace and finds they are both on their honeymoons. Tucker, Courtney's husband joins them.
They are happily chatting until Leo Rycroft turns up. Once entertainment working on the ship as a magician he is back to solve a mystery but Courtney is less than happy to see him.
Penny his wife works on the ship still as the magician's assistant to his replacement Bruce. Kyle knows of Bruce and his history from his days working with his Dad. He is keen to keep Grace away from him.
After the magic show Grace and Kyle find Bruce murdered in Davy Jones Locker. By the time Cruise Security turns up, the body is gone. Kyle and Grace start another investigation. Others get murdered and Tucker is nearly a victim too. He is hidden by Kyle and Grace in their cabin. This does put a slight downer on their honeymoon. Things are not as they appear as people disappear and some are nearly killed. They also encounter Meredith from Death Takes a Holiday story, she is assistant cruise director on their ship. She has her normal sunny personality which doesn't help at all.
There is a twist in the tale that makes it a fun read.
If this is your first encounter you might want to read the other books first as it builds the relationships between some of the characters in this book.
This one has definitely outdone the others. I didn't think I could replace book one in favorites but this one did. Romance, betrayal, danger it had it all. Definitely was movie like in my mind as I went through each scene. Loved it. Just kept hoping for a bit of news. Maybe on the next one. :)
