I wouldn’t say that I wanted to be a writer from when I was little. I only really started reading often when I had baby number five, as he was born very early and spent thirteen weeks in special care. It was then that I discovered my love for reading. From then on, I was hooked. I read all types of romance books. It dawned on me that I wanted to be more than a mum/reader/blogger. I wanted to write, as I have a very active imagination, so I put pen to paper.
I write romance - contemporary, dark and erotic.
I like to write about loss, pain and love, and what it's like to fight for your happy ever after.
Overall this was an OK book. I didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped I would. There were times I struggled to continue reading it. For me it seemed like your typical Stockholm syndrome between Damien and Faith and their love happened much too fast. The story line was fairly good but I didn't feel any connection to the characters and at times I was left confused trying to figure out Damien's past. A bit more action would have moved the story along at a faster pace!!!
Obsession is Samantha Harrington's debut novel and Wow! This lady can write! This is one of those books I wish I could rate more than 5 stars as it was worth so much more!
When Faith is kidnapped because of a debt her father owes, Faith had no idea that this would change her life for the worse but also for the better....
Damien is the person who has ordered the kidnapping of Faith to try and get her father to repay his debts, but when Faith's father refuses to pay for his daughters release, Damien must make a decision. With his past flashing in front of him, de decides to let Faith go, but something about her has gotten under his skin and he promises to do all he can to protect her....but Faith doesn't know this. Yet.
After 6 months of being free from her kidnappers, Faith is still very scared and vulnerable. When her scumbag of a father returns, Damien must finally show Faith that he has actually been looking out for her all along. Faith has become obsessed by Damien since she was freed and happy to have him back in life. But when Faith finds out what her father has planned and she is kidnapped again (along with her best friend Cami) by her fathers goons, it's a race against time for Damien to come to their rescue.
Will Damien be able to save Faith & Cami from her father or is there something more sinister behind the whole thing?
Obsession is a dark erotic read which will have you very much gripped from the first page.
Well Done Samantha on such a fantastic book and I am really looking forward to Malc & Cami's story.
If you like insta stuff then this is the thing you would want to read. For me it wasn't what I wanted or needed. It was all just to damn fast like he kidnaps her and then releases her after what 5 weeks? And she is pining after him for months because he gave her food and drinks? In her kidnapping time nothing happened that would give the stockholm syndrome. Okay I don't know when or how fast it can happen, but let's be real here it doesn't go like that I guess..
I was so glad I finished this one because otherwise my eyes would've stayed upward from all the rolling.. But I have this series so I need to fight and continue!
Obsession is a fast paced, action filled story from start to finish. For me though, maybe things moved just a little too fast. It all seemed to happen over a few days/a week, and there was so much packed into that time frame that maybe it was just a little bit too much.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this book and it had a good storyline, it's just... it felt a little rushed, and because everything was happening so fast there were quite a lot of mistakes in this book. Normally, I don't even mention edit issues in my blog reviews, but they were quite noticeable in this book and I don't feel like I can ignore them.
Obsession was drama, thriller and romance all rolled into one. Story wise, a good start and Samantha Harrington shows some great potential. I personally would just like her to learn that comma's are her friend, not to say I did this, then I did that so much and to get a good editor to go through her books for her, because beta's can miss a lot of things and those little things brought the book down for me.
I'd give Obsession 3.75 stars. I feel 3.5 is too low for it, but with the issues I've mentioned, I just can't rate it a 4 like some of the others I have reviewed lately. Although of course you can't do half stars on here, lol, so I've given a 4 as a 3 is just way too low for such a good story.
I enjoyed Obsession, and am looking forward to seeing what happens with Malc and Cami and to see Samantha Harrington develop into the fantastic author I think she will be, going from her debut novel.

You know, I looked at the reviews for this and have to wonder if the years I spent in a classroom teaching basic grammar have made me overly critical. Only a select few people mention the train wreck that I cringed through while reading this. I just couldn't take it. Lots of comma misuse (or no use), run-on sentences, using the wrong word (there = a place, their = refers to people). Sadly, that killed this for me. I LOVED the premise of this. I am a hard-core a mafia romance lover. The violent "mafia" scenes were great! The love scenes were hot! The way Damien wanted to protect Faith was right up my alley, but the grammar kept pulling me out of the magic of the story.
Will I read something else by this author? Sure! I'll be glad to give her another try...all the while hoping she has found a new editor.
An amazing debut novel. The story is filled with memorable characters and thought provoking emotions. I loved this book and will eagerly await the next.
1 Captive but not Captivating Stars This book… is strange First off its written by what appears to be two different authors (Samantha Harrington and SE Foster) .. They have identical covers and synopsis so quite unsure what happened there and oddly. SE Foster is not on amazon anymore (however this is the one I got which is allegedly longer than the Samantha Harrington edition. So I will leave my review on the Harrington edition. I will point out the SE foster was almost twice the length which is what I got and I can tell you … it was not good so most likely the Harrington version was sent through an editor.. Please do not burn me at the stake for my review if what I hated was eliminated. It appears my copy and the Harrington copy are still desperately searching for some grammar fixes such as incorrect words and comma misuse.
I was all about the concept of the book I love a good kidnapping and Stockholm syndrome as I love dark romance. This… didn’t play out in a way that worked. It was a kidnapping over 5 weeks he kissed her on the forehead when he released her and she has been pining for his love ever since. She finds him again and gives her virginity to him (she is 24) and then they are both like in super love with each other. The background story was boring and really not engaging. I think what hurt the book is there is no logical flow to any of this story. I think it’s attempting to be a thriller but… it’s not good at all.
I also noticed I have this entire series on my kindle.. And I would not read this for anything.
This is one of those books that will suck you in because you will NEED to know what happens. I stayed up most of the night to finish this book because I had to know how it ended and I definitely wasn't disappointed. This was such a good book and Samantha did an excellent job writting it. I am looking forward to reading more from Samantha and hopefully it will be Cami and Malc's story.
Faith was kidnapped in order to make her father pay a debt she had no idea he owed. While there she meets Damien, who takes care of her and vows to get her out. He does do that and once he drops her off he disappears. She has become obsessed with Damien and looks forward to her nightmares because at the end she always sees Damien. Its 6 months later and Faith is in danger again. She is on a mission to find him because she knows only he could help.
What happens when she learns who was responsible for her kidnapping? Will she forgive them? What is her father up to now? Will Damien be able to keep Faith and Cami safe? Will their relationship stay as an obsession or will deeper feelings develop?
I really don't want to tell you too much. I started reading this ARC not knowing what the story was about because I forgot and I can say I loved being surprised and shocked and hooked to this book. I've seen this is Samantha's debut novel and all I can say is well done. You did a great job and I am really looking forward to reading more.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This story starts of fast and suspenseful. It just continues throughout the whole book. The story was easy to keep up with and flowed very well. I enjoyed the character build and how the author developed just a little through the book. She was giving you enough info to follow the story but not enough to keep you guessing. They are twists and turns of events in this book which is another thing I enjoy. I like to be kept guessing. Damien and Faith's chemistry is felt and get intense in some cases. I have come to find myself quiet intrigued with Damien's second hand man Malc. Cami is Faith's best-friend and I have come to really like her as well. I can't wait to read the next book. I don't want to give to much away. If you like action, betrayal, love, and suspense then this is the book for you. This is a book intended for 18+. Some of the parts have sensitive material in regards to rape and murder.

This is Samantha's Debut novel and OMG it was amazing!! I loved this book and couldn't put it down. It pulls you in from the first chapter and you want to know everything that is going on and what is going to happen and what has happened.
Faith is kidnapped because of a debt her father owes.
Damien is the one who orders her kidnapping so her father will repay his debt to him.
But what happens when Damien see's her for the first time after the kidnapping and brings up some painful memories for him? Will he allow her to leave? What happens when Faith see's Damien as her savior but doesnt know the complete story behind what is happening?
This is one of those books you cannot say a whole lot because it will giveaway the parts of the book that give you a shock factor and have you saying WTF are you serious.
This is samanthas first novel and I was blown away.Faith is kidnapped by Damien because her father owes a debt when her father decides not to pay Damien makes a decision and lets her go.Faith cant stop thinking about him and 6 months on she finds herself in danger again and needs to find Damien as only he can help her.Kidnapped again along with her friend Cami it’s a race against time for Damien to find her but with secrets and lies between them can they ever be together? How will Faith react when she finds out the truth about her kidnapping will Damien be able to keep her safe? Obsession is a dark, gritty read which will have you gripped from the first pages, the story is fast paced and filled with action and twists and turns a great first novel and I look forward to the next book in this series.
It started really well and I enjoyed it. It was a stretch sometimes with her falling in love with her captor. She was very very dramatic I didn't think so at first, but then when all that was done to her friend I was like WTF get over yourself nothing really happened to you.
I don't get why her innocent friend had the crap end of it. I want to read about her and Malcolm. They seemed to catch my interest more the the main couple.
This book had the bones to make a really interesting read, however, the mistakes were enormous. Normally I won't mention editing and grammar mistakes, but this book was rife with them. I give Obsession 3 stars, with the hope that the editors are replaced for the second book.
This book has real potential to be great. The story line is good. But I was distracted by the errors in the writing. I also had a problem feeling the connection between the characters. I hope Samantha tells Malc and Cami's story. Reviewed on behalf of Once Upon an Alpha.

I absolutely could not put this book down. From the first few pages the author wrote this story and characters perfect. I always start assuming plots when I start reading and this was one of them. But even though I guessed a good amount of this book I was not let down at all. I would recommend this book to others. The story starts with Faith. She's a petty normal girl and gets thrown into her fathers mess. And boy is her dad a winner. He owes money to a well know man and has not made his payments back. She is picked up to light a match under her fathers butt to get his debt cleared up. Unfortunately he tells her captor to keep her in exchange to clear his debt. She meets Damien while there and he saves her. 6 months later she feels as if someone has been watching her and low and behold her father shows up with an agenda of his own. Right when you think no one is there to save her Damien pops up. He saves her again. And that's just the first couple chapters. There is so much more that happens. And I don't want to give away any more spoilers. This book is a roller coaster of emotions. There's a little bit of everything in this book. I loved that Damien was a beast with the bad guys. I mean some of those parts were like mobster stuff. Lol. I loved this book. It will definitely be a book that I could reread. I cant wait for the next book about Cami and Malcolm
I finished this book in an hour and a half. I could not put it down. Oh my gosh Samantha, what a absolutely awesome read. Damien is my hero, he really did love Faith more than his own life. I could not believe her dad did that to her, that just blew me away. How could a father be so cruel and unloving!? I am so happy that Cami finally came around, but I understand her point of view like I am sure we all did. I can't wait for Cami & Malc's story to come out now (sitting on pins and needles).
This is Samantha Harrington's debut novel and you need to put this on your to read list if you have not read it. You will not regret it, I promise you that. Faith is kidnapped for a debt her father owes a man named Damien, and he is the ring leader in everything from the kidnapping to becoming Faith's savior. Then her father tells Damien to just kill his daughter to clear his debt..this is a fast paced action filled book from the first page to the very last page, that is why I could not stop reading it. What an awesome book, I loved it. Thank you Samantha for giving us such an awesome book to read.
Obsession is definitely an action packed dark erotic. Faith was kidnapped to get her father to pay his debt that he owed. Little does Damien know that he would fall for her. He tells her that he is going to get her out. Which he did. Fast forward 6 months and Faith is not really living. She is tramatized by the event and her almost rape at the hands of Connor. She keeps seeing Damien in the shadows and thinks her mind is playing tricks on her. But it isnt. He is watching her to make sure she stays safe. Her father decides to rear his ugly head and tries to hurt her friend. Damien shows up at the right time and saves her. There was so much packed into such a small book. I enjoyed it. The attention to detail had me engrossed and I couldn't wait to see what happened. I did find the ending a little predictable but otherwise enjoyed how it ended. I am patiently awaiting for Malc's and Cami's story. I would like to see where they end up. *Reviewed on behalf of Once Upon An Alpha*
4.5 Stars I received a complimentary copy of this book through Crazy Cajun Book Addict for an honest review.
Faith had everything she could ever want than one day its all ripped away from her leaving her a shell of the person she used to be, her best friend Cami is the only person she can trust, that is except for Damian the man that set her free from the hell that she was living. Damian may have set her free but is there more to him than Faith believes and how will they react to each other months later when he comes to her rescue once again
I really enjoyed this debut book from Samantha Harrington. Its dark, fast paced and the characters hooked me straight away i felt so many emotions throughout I will definitely be reading more from this new author and I cant wait for Cami and Malc's story next.

After reading this book I was definitely Obsessed. At first I was skeptical I was thinking, where is the fun in this if the chic is already falling for the "good" guy. So I kept reading on and then I thought to myself...Damien..you sneaky bastard you. From that point on I was hooked on the book and could not put it down. I really like how the story lines keep going and the story has enough detail. I also love the fact that there was so many twists and turns.
I am eager to read more from this author because of the fact she knows how to grasp the readers interest and keep a story line going.

Congratulations Samantha on a fantastic Debut can't wait for your next release
This is a great debut novel. It has just the right amount of suspense and keeps you wanting to read more. I desperately tried to read this in one sitting as I found it hard to put down. There are not a lot of characters within the book which meant that we got to know them a bit more and on a deeper level .
This was Faith and Damien's story and their HEA was not easy to achieve, they have been to hell and back for their relationship.
I'm looking forward to the next book from this author.
this is the first book in the series and the first one I've read by this author. wow, I absolutely loved it, I couldn't put it down and read it very quickly. I loved the characters and the story line was fab. this story has the right balance of hot steamy scenes, suspense, twists and turns and romance to keep you hooked. cant wait for the next one.

I just couldn't put this book down, it’s fast paced and full of drama – I loved it!! The characters were great and very memorable and I loved the storyline, I was drawn into the Faith and Damien’s story very quickly!
This author will definitely be on my watch list and I will be waiting eagerly for the next book.
This debut novel to me was amazing. It is dark so be warned. Not as dark as I am used to but just the right amount. Absolutely fell in love with Damien. Had my heart racing at times and wanted to yell at a certain character. Looking forward to more from this author. If you're a dark fan definitely pick this up. Can't wait to dive into the next one.
Samantha this book was amazing was hooked as soon as I started it couldn't put it down needed to know what was going to happen .i can't wait to read ur other books, this book is a must read
