Hey, I’m Amy, I write books for folks who crave laugh-out-loud paranormal mysteries. I help bring humor into readers’ lives. I’ve got a Pharm D in pharmacy, a BA in Creative Writing and a Masters in Life. And when I’m not writing or chasing around two small children (one of which is four going on thirteen), I can be found antique shopping for a great deal, getting my roots touched up (because that’s an every four week job) and figuring out when I can get back to Disney World. If you’re dying to know more about my wacky life, here are three things you don’t know about me. —In college I spent a semester at Marvel Comics working in the X-Men office. —I worked at Carnegie Hall. —I grew up in a barbecue restaurant—literally. My parents owned one. If you want to reach out to me—and I love to hear from readers—you can email me at amyboylesauthor@gmail.com. Happy reading!
Surprisingly, this series has gotten better as it goes along. Dylan is experiencing growth, Reid comes into her powers and relationship make progress. .
I'm difficult when it comes to new series. I judge them based off my previous loves. Anita Blake, Harry Dresden, Mercy Thompson, Druid Chronicles, and Rachel Morgan. But this series got me HOOKED? Very similar to Anita Blake when it comes to relationships. They aren't as "juicy" at Blake....but it is only the 4th book.
. I was so excited to find this witch mystery through Kindle Unlimited. I like an extended series, which gives the reader the opportunity to spend time with a defined group of characters, hopefully, who grow in depth.
This fourth installment has finally developed a more believable experience. It does have some eclectic characters, but none that are extremely compelling still. The heroine is finally starting to reflect some character growth and the relationship between the H/H seems to be racing along. Since we are getting to know them better, it is a little easier to understand some of the experiences than at the beginning of the series.
In this installment, the heroine finally demonstrates the ability to actually decipher the mystery and execute a way to get proof without the aid of her boyfriend. Her family is very supportive of all her endeavors. Still, many of the experiences in this series are pure non-sensical.
There are some minor grammatical errors. It is a clean read and contains an H.E.A. regarding the dead body. It is able to stand on its own, but the series will probably be better understood if read in order.
No one's life goes as planned. I love getting my mind off of my life's surprises and relaxing with Amy's dimensional imperfect characters. After reading her books I can't help but feel a part of the Apel family! The twists and turns keep coming and Millie's sass always puts a smile on my face! Keep them coming!!!
A great series full of Southern Fried magic, mayhem, chaos and family - and sometimes a unicorn or two..
I really enjoy this author's style! A couple of things that were nagging at me get resolved, old mysteries and secrets are brought into the light. I would love to see Pearbottom change his ways, but who knows - maybe in the next book??
I very much enjoy these books they are a lot of fun to read. I have read 4 in a few days. I was thinking maybe I should switch it up read something different for a couple days, but the author Amy Boyles a lady that writes really well and keeps me smiling ended this one with a cliff hanger so going for book 5.
This starts out a little slow but smoothes out and gets more interesting about halfway through. It's definitely of the paranormal cozy mystery variety, but the plot is fairly complex.
Cute, fun, quick read. A very satisfying return to Silver Springs. If you've read the previous books you know what you're in for, if you haven't, get those first.
I love this series I'm addicted to the story and characters! The family is funny and exciting and deranged all at the same time!! Plus of course magic and mystery!! I consider it a must read!!
Dylan and the gang are back. In this book, a new witch has moved to town. Not only is she a dressmaker like Dylan but she seems to be very interested in Dylan’s boyfriend Roman. When Dylan finds the body of a dead witch, it’s only a matter of time before she runs into trouble with the witches’ council. Dylan’s magical abilities are growing slowly, and she is finally making progress in dealing with her past romantic trauma. The book ends with a hook that will surely spur readers to get the next book. I know it did me! I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who enjoys paranormal cozy mysteries.
I really love this Apel family of witches and the madcap menagerie that surrounds them. Dylan is charming even when she's whiny (although she needs to lose that tacky chew-and-spit habit), Reid wasn't obnoxious for a change, and the Grandmas are a caution! The mystery is intriguing (and ongoing), with a villain at large and a possible solution to a years-old murder. The tease of Dylan's relationship with Roman is enough for adults without being too much for teens; very deftly handled. I look forward to "For Witch's Sake."
Why is the author always having Dylan biting her nails and spitting them on the floor????? This is in every book so far. That is so disgusting!!!. I also think it’s gross when she chews on her hair. Why do these things even have to be mentioned in the books??? These are not relevant to the story at all. Why not have her scratch her butt and pick her nose also. Please refrain from writing these gross things in future books. These things just ruin the book. 🤮🤮
Amy Boyles is a master at manipulating words. I chuckled all the way through this book, and her others in this series as well. It really doesn’t take me long to read these witch mysteries if I am able to isolate myself from other duties. Reading this series is a complete delight. They set the tone for my entire day (week) making me feel lighthearted enough to be able to manage through these chaotic, and frankly depressing times. I don’t deal well with inflation. Lol
In this book by Amy Boyles, Dylan's family is helping out with a valentines day dance when she finds a body. It ends up being an undercover witch officer. Then a new witch in town sets her sights on Roman and brings Dylan's ex to town. I loved this book and didn't want to put it down.
Dylan It’s finally decided she wants to be a witch. And this one Romans father came back but doesn’t remember anything any witch moved in across from Dylan’s Clothing shop and wouldn’t you know it’s the same kind of store. Fun times with the gang and Reid even has a surprise this time.
Another wild ride full of witches, murder and mayhem! Seriously, this installment in the lives of Dylan and her sisters is action packed and we get to know everyone a lot better. And Reid gets to surprise everyone!!
A great series with a great cast of characters quirky funny story lines and it is very entertaining. Cozy mystery series with a witchy twist definitely worth the read check them out
Dylan and her family have their work cut out for them in this 4th book of the series. Roman’s Dad is found, Grandma’s got an ex-boyfriend to check out, there’s a new murder to solve and Sera is baking up a storm! All is normal in the family!
Another witch turns up in Silver Springs, Dylan hates Dewy, when a murder of a witch happens can Roman Dylan boyfriend and policeman/ witch police solve it and can Dylan and her sisters keepout of trouble
I really enjoy the way this book is written. When I read the word “cain’t”, I was so happy. My grandmother used to say that all of the time. In the beginning I was so annoyed by the new witch character. But, the ending made me happy on several levels!
This book was okay. Some of the characters were kind of strange, but the romance between Roman and Dylan keeps heating up, and that keeps my attention!
