Rate this book
A beautiful young actress is found strangled in her Los Angeles apartment.

A young man with looks, money and an eye to play the field is accused.

In this short story, criminal defense lawyer Brad Madison has returned to do battle in the courtroom after a stint in the military. But the ghosts of Madison's war in Afghanistan have wreaked havoc on his life and put his marriage on the skids. Kicked out of home by the woman he loves, Madison wants back in but has much to prove and a lot of trust to regain. His big chance arrives in the form of a case that looks hopeless at first, but Madison never loses faith. In this courtroom drama, the personal and professional become tightly intertwined - Madison fights with all he's got because it's all on the line.

Good novella.

Liked his writing style, gave short introduction of main characters. So far not much about his wife I liked. Fast moving discoveries ended courtroom drama very suddenly.

Fast, easy read.

Fast, easy read. Good for long plane ride. Nothing wrong with the writing, but nothing compelling about it either. I think author will improve with time. For now, good story, but the writer seems to feel readers need more information than really they do. I will buy the next-in - line book. But then, I am a sucker for lawyer stories. Good luck, J. J. Meh. I don't particularly care for short stories as they generally feel rushed to me... and this one is no exception. I read it because it serves as a prequel to the Brad Madison legal thriller series. I really enjoyed book 1 of the series & I had hoped to get some additional background info on the characters prior to diving into book 2 (which has just been released). Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot of new insight to be had here.

Exciting, ends when justice prevails and does not waste time with repeated info or unneeded text. Thanks!

Great read. I'll now look for more of his offerings. Was not too wording, wasting my time. Thanks for a good story.

Interesting plot-

I really like the character of Brad Madison. I like your storyline, and hope he gets his family back. I noticed quite a bit of typing errors, and errors in sentence structure with both books I've read. It was fairly distracting.

Too Obvious

Story is just too obvious all around, especially who turns out to be the murderer. Also I don't think very many men would put up with a wife who uses the family situation as a "hammer".

Good for a novella

But much too short and not well developed. I knew from the beginning who the killer was. It was really too easy to figure out.

Thriller

Author does a good job setting the tone of the book. The cross examination of the witnesses was well done.

Awesome Book!!!#

I see this is book one of Brad Madison's Legal Thriller books. I sincerely hope it will not be the last and I look forward to more books in the future. This is a fast read and I highly recommend it . I would enjoy a longer book but this is a wonderful book for a first time author. The five stars are well deserved. It would be good to be on a list to know when book 2 is available.
