Shadowlands #2

Into the Dark

Rate this book
Sachi Manning’s life used to be normal. Boring. Mundane. But that was before. Before the lilin. Before the reapers. Before that whole death and resurrection thing…

Now the conflict that has been building within The Shadowlands is reaching toward breaking point, and Sachi is right in the thick of it.

A new alliance.

Refusing to be cowed by the lilin’s latest attack, Sachi must decide whether to accept Griffin’s offer of an alliance, while the Praetor proves he will stop at nothing to reach his end game.

A new mystery.

With Mira lost in her obsession to find Nikko, Julian must pick up where she left off in the investigation of the Heme Centre. It is a task that will take him away from Melbourne and force him to confront aspects of his past he had long thought buried.

A new threat.

With The Faction asserting itself within the world of the Shadowlanders of New Orleans, Flynn will be forced to fight a battle between his conscience and his loyalty to his country as he starts to realise things are not quite as he’s been told.

In this heart-racing sequel to Out of the Shadows, Ashlee Nicole Bye has once again drawn readers into her fascinating world of magic, mayhem and monsters. With the same laugh-out-loud humour, loveable characters and page-turning adventure, Into the Dark is an absolute must-read for fans of the series.

The sequel to Out of the Shadows is just as thrilling and filled with mystery and intrigue as the first one if not even more. Kept me wondering what would happen next. I’m now left wondering what happens next again. These stories and mysteries and problems keep me fascinated and excited and get nervous for the characters and excited and scared.

Kept me on my toes this did.
Loved it!

Excellent follow-up novel continuing the story of the Shadowlands series. Just like last time there is plenty of humour, exciting action and plot twists. Diverse group of characters and romances were great to read. Get around this exciting new author from Australia!

Loved it! It kept me rapt throughout. I felt drawn into Sachi's world with her grief and uncertainty as she finds her place among the Shadowlanders. The plot is original with unexpected twists and kept me guessing what was going to happen next. I love the characters, their interplay and the incredible world building.
This is a series not to miss and I eagerly await the next book!

Amazing second book. Lots of intrigue to keep you reading. Sachi’s life is in a turmoil, all she wanted was normal. Can’t wait for the next one to come out.

I read the first book of this series and enjoyed it, the second instalment was fast paced, with lots of twists and turns, which I enjoyed. The storyline is rather complex with a lot of different characters. Although I found it slightly less confusing than the first because I I had a awareness of the characters and storyline. The book draw me in and made me want to just keep reading one more chapter. It was well written with depth, was different and intriguing with a well developed storyline, with interesting characters. Some humorous dialogue, plenty of intrigue, plus it was also a great long length.
Looking forward to next instalment.

Whoever is planning to read this as a standalone please don't.

There's too much that's already happened in book 1 and that you will not be able to connect to. More than the characters you will get stuck by references to species like the Lilins, reapers and their role as per this series etc. You will also keep on wondering about the cast of characters and who is connected in what way.

Other than this, it was a good book, with great a writing style and vivid imagery. I will not continue with the series since I can't connect with it but will explore more work done by this author.

Into the Dark by Ashlee Nicole Bye is the second book in the Shadowlands Series. This series is all about the different paranormal creatures that live in human world next to regular humans who are none the wiser. I loved this book because it is full of adventure, intrigue, and lots of different characters that are involved in different schemes. The many characters in the book help drive the story forward while still maintaining an overwhelming sense of mystery about their true intentions. If you enjoy a book full of mystery and complexity like I do, than this book is for you.

This is book 2 to The Shadowlands and wow what an amazing story but sorry guys I’m not going to give any spoilers but if I did write any spoilers I would probably write too much and in doing so I would spoil it for other people and this story is just too good to ruin. All in all this is an amazing book 2 it’s very well written with great characters and a fantastic storyline so if you have read book 1 Out of the Shadows then your in for a treat with this one. Amazing story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

The paranormal characters in this book add to the mystery and adventure with the normal people. This was an interesting addition in the life of Sachi.
