Another excellent creepy paranormal adventure!
Dark and Devious Things by Kelly Martin continues the paranormal adventure of our gal that can see ghosts. Blackmailed into a contract to do ghosthunting for a creep that doctored a video showing she killed a family, she now has to work doing something she hates. She is also teamed with a guy and they have a complicated relationship. The house they are sent to has a spirit that is very devious and deadly! Super creepy!

This spine-tingling thriller left me peeking over the top of the book to see what made that noise and slowly sliding back down into the covers to hide. I love it when a story gives me chills Dark and Devious Things did that and more! This series is Supernatural and Ghost Adventures meets The Conjuring. If you love a suspenseful ghost story this one is for you.

This second book is even better than the first and if my schedule hasn't been so hectic I would have read it in a sitting. This picks up where the last one left off and the creepy factor went up tenfold for me. The author has given this story line a strong plot and hair raising supernatural elements.
I love Elise but I'm certainly feeling some type of way with Abel. I cannot wait to jump into the next book as I want to find out the many truths that need to come out of the darkness and into the light. This author has quickly become a favorite one for me. I highly recommend this read, so drop whatever it is you're doing and read it like yesterday.

This series is awesome!!
This series just keeps getting better! It is a drama, romance, revenge plot all wrapped up in a ghost story! So different that anything I have ever read! I can't wait to read the next book!

Jury's still out on whether I like these books. I don't think a 46 year old dude is the target audience here, but I'm a sucker for anything creepy. Much like in the first book, the main character has to be the most juvenile 21 year old ever. And I'm quite immature myself. Instead, she comes off more as a repetitive horned-up 13 year old. Just barely good enough to make me want to see where this goes, but taking a break from these books for a little while.

I'm. It a fast reader and I read this book in a total of six hours. Holy Ghost, I couldn't put it down. Talk about suspenseful and screaming at the book to solve the mystery. Definitely didn't see the ending coming. Just when you think things would get better, BAM, Kelly goes and ruins it then leaves it with a cliffhanger. WTH!? Nope, not bitter at all. Can't wait for DDT 3!

I’m going to do a review of the series as a whole and just repeat it for each volume, for a couple of reasons. 1) Much more many series, all of these books really function together as a unit, each one ending as a cliffhanger. Although I think they could stand alone, they really make more sense taken together. 2) I read through them all in a row and so quickly that they’re all one book in my mind and I don’t know how I would break the reviews out, especially without major spoilers.
So, these books are AMAZING. They’re funny, scary, sweet, and full of twists and turns. I burned through all of them in just a couple of days because each ended on a cliff hanger and I had to know what came next. Some of the twists I saw coming, or at least guessed at, but others took me utterly by surprise. There were a couple of things that I thought Our Heroine should have figured out sooner, but I’m also aware that I’m reading a book, and that everything detail means something or is a clue. Real life isn’t like that, and you’re not going to assume that every weird moment is actually a key to your situation.
There are some really original takes on ghosts, hauntings and various forms of possession, along with a lot of wit and humor and pop culture references.
Also, there are some things that happen in the first couple of books that seem like they’re forgotten or they aren’t going anywhere, only to come back around and become incredibly important at the end. I was glad when items I took to be plot holes actually came full circle in the end, instead of unused tidbits that never went anywhere. I’m thoroughly impressed and looking forward to reading the rest of the author’s works.

Interesting, spooky and funny
I’m very much enjoying this series. I don’t usually read this kind of book( I do like some “spookys” and definitely mysteries, yet I had figured these would be more teenage- or else too cozy )but something drew me to it and them.
This one, book two, is also frightening-more so, in my opinion, than Book 1- but Elise’s dry, ironic, humor shines through , so it is also hilarious! I love it!
I don’t know why some readers complained that Elise complains too much -plus defers to Abel.
For pete’s sake-She’s taken a beating physically and then some- her life has completely been upended with what happened before ( mostly before book 1) . As a seer and medium myself, I can tell you that Elise behaves very much like I do. I enjoy listening to her thoughts and feelings! I don’t particularly care for what’s turning out to be either a serial book. But since I AM reading it 😉, I like it very much!

This is spooky
I used to have a recurring dream when I was in high school about being lost in some old timey haunted mansion. The dreams were dark with a sense of evil and I felt this heaviness pressing down on me. I was paralyzed at times, with creepy shivers trailing down my spine. Maybe they were night terrors? I dunno, but this book made feel that way again. I'm expecting nightmares tonight.
Elise and Abel are roped into filming their own ghost hunting programme, but there's something more than just the house's spirits haunting them. Something sinister lurks in the shadows taunting them and tying both of them together. It's spooky.
I'm loving being spooked, though my over active imagination is trying to convince me that every noise is a ghostie. Hysterical and terrifying. Fun times. So yeah, obviously I'm going to download the next book, just to really scare myself senseless tonight. Hope y'all are reading something fun out there in booklandia. 💙

another fun one
This is the second in the series that I’ve read. The story line was good and the hauntings were fun. The book would be a lot shorter if she didn’t constantly repeat the facts about their families and state over and over how he feels and she feels and the insecurities. Once, twice even three times but over and over and over cheapens the novel, brings it to a pre-teen level and encourages eye rolls from the reader. I will read the next one at see where it takes us.

Again, a lot of potential in this story, but the heroine's obsessive fixation on herself really detracts from the outer plot. A little more creep in this one, with the building mystery...but no answers. No character development. No relationship progress. But a lot of fixation on being a virgin. You know, the important things.

Thoroughly entertaining and is keeping me guessing on what new information we will learn about the main characters we have been getting to know over this and the first in the series. Elise and Abel both are more than they seem but do they even understand themselves what that means. The adventure continues another ghost hunting trip to come.

This has been a great Kindle Unlimited find for me. It doesn’t take a lot of brain power but has some great one-liners and an interesting plot. Plus, the author referenced Dawson’s Creek so I am now picturing Elise and Abel as Joey and Pacey . . . :)

I feel like this installment was getting a bit juvenile and the conversations didn't seem plausible at times, especially given the situation. I am going to give book 3 a try and hope for the best.

This book was exciting and kept me guessing what would happen next. Now the ending makes me look forward to the next book for more exciting adventures in the paranormal world. I feel sorry for the main character...she just can't seem to catch a break!
