From Italy with Love #2

A Wedding in Italy

Rate this book
Sun, spaghetti and sparkling prosecco. When it comes to finding love, there’s no place like Rome...

Kate is living the dream with her gorgeous boyfriend Alessandro in his native city, but the reality is sometimes a little less romantic than she’d hoped. Every day in her new home is a fight against leaking pipes, her cantankerous landlord and her less-than-perfect grasp of the Italian lingo.

All around her there is talk of weddings, but when a secret from her past is thrust out into the open, Kate must fight to prove to Alessandro’s Mamma – and the rest of his formidable family – that she truly is Italian marriage material.

With the women in Alessandro’s life on a mission to break them apart, the cracks begin to show and Kate starts to question if Alessandro really is the man of her dreams. Can love and the city of romance conquer all, or is that just a fairy-tale?

Let Rome steal your heart this summer in this gorgeously romantic escapist read. Perfect for fans of Jo Thomas and Abby Clements.

5☆  Charming story of Family, Love and fitting in!

A Wedding in Italy is the second book in the series. I was not fortunate to read the first book.
I don't feel this hindered my enjoyment as Tilly explains some background knowledge so you can easily pick things up.

Kate has followed her heart and moved to Italy to be with the gorgeous Alessandro.
She lives in a small apartment separate from him. As he's family believes in marriage first.

Kate's landlord is a funny character, she finds it Extremely difficult to fully communicate with him as her Italian is luke warm, as is he's English.
For example she makes he's wife 2 dresses and she is told he should pay more. He asks for 2 more but because of the understanding she ends up agreeing on the same price. Which made me laugh. Poor Kate.

Alessandro's family are a very close knit unit but he's Mother has other ideas on who she believe Alessandro should be with.
She doesn't think Kate is good enough for him.
She has strong Italian values and family is everything to her. Towards the end she does warm to Kate which is so nice.

It's Alessandro's sister Lucetta's wedding and everyone is helping, even Kate.
However things don't run so smoothly to start with as not everyone wants Kate there.

Maria, Alessandro sister & her best friend Orazia don't like her as Maria wants Orazia to marry Alessandro. They both feel Kate is not good enough and make their feelings known at every opportunity.
To make matters worse Alessandro and Orazia work together in the police force.

I feel so sorry for Kate she desperately tries to fit in as she loves Alessandro so much.
She is embarking on a whole new life, missing her family and England and starting a new business venture it really isn't easy for her. Luckily Alessandro is so supportive.

Two of he's sisters like Kate luckily, Lucetta and Abelie.
Kate's Italian is not very good so when Abelie decides to help promote Kate's dressmaker business by making her business cards it touched my heart.

I absolutely loved the Conti family. The sisters were great. Sisters squabbling with each other but supporting at the same time is exactly how sisters are!
So many laugh out loud moments.

The wedding was beautiful. I loved the huge wedding and the exciting guests.
Every character is well thought out and engaging.

I loved Kate and Alessandro. I loved their ever blossoming relationship. I admired Kate's strength and determination to fit in.
Alessandro always stuck up for Kate which was such an admiring quality especially when it was against he's feisty sisters lol.

Such a beautiful story, about fitting in, family, friendship and love. With lots of humour and witty remarks.

One thing I did love was Tilly's use of Italian. It was so nice to see it incorporated into the story. So the reader really was immersed into language and story. It was just like I was transported into Italy. Somewhere I have always wanted to go.

Overall a beautiful read. With loveable at times feisty characters, and a great storyline.
I would recommend this book to readers who love adventure, love, humour, family values and Italy. Chick Lit, Romance and women's fiction.

I received this book from the Publisher in exchange for a honest and fair review via Netgalley.

Kate is now living in Rome, but life there is harder than she'd expected. She'd expected having to learn to speak Italian and finding a job. She hadn't expected some would question her intentions and others would make her life difficult. On top of that, she misses her family back home. At least Kate and Alessandro are still very much in love 💕.

Fortunately, Kate's as adventurous and optimistic as ever and determined to build a life in Rome. It was nice to follow-up on her journey in Rome, while catching up with the rest of the characters from Book 1. This is a story about love, family, and traditions. A nice summer read and easy escape to Italy.

This is the second in a series, I read Rome Is Where The Heart Is last month and thought it was adorable and such a perfect read for this time of year. A Wedding in Italy is the same, it’s a fun holiday read that makes you feel as if you’ve just returned from a Roman vacation by the time you finish.

What I’ve come to love about Tennant’s writing is that while she conjures up delightful images and swoon worthy romances she still manages to keep things believably realistic. In the first book I was impressed by how Kate and Alessandro were hesitant about their new relationship even though they cared very deeply for one another. This time around she stuck with a basis in reality as Kate struggles after her move to Rome. She misses her family terribly, she’s having trouble finding a job, the language barrier is frustrating and often embarrassing, and though she loves Alessandro more than ever, his meddling family is putting a huge strain on their brand new relationship. It was a nice change to read a romance where things don’t just end with a perfect, happily ever after. This was like seeing behind the curtain when the HEA moment ends and real life begins, it was so refreshing!

I really bonded with the characters the first time around and this time I was able to deepen my connection to them even more. Alessandro’s family all play a large part in the plot and I felt similar to Kate as one part of me loved them and the other part wished they would mind their own business. Their Italian dramatics, love of food and family, and loyalty ultimately won me over in the end. Kate and Alessandro are just as sweet as ever and their passion and chemistry was hot and spicy.

This is a lovely addition to the series, I would recommend packing them in your bag for your own vacation, they are perfect beach reads. Tennant writes gorgeous, descriptions that make you feel as if you’re strolling along in the streets of Rome and she made me hungry again with the scrumptious food explanations and details. I just hope there will be a third book coming soon?!

I was delighted to get reading A Wedding In Italy after reading the first book.

This was just fantastic, it was so lovely to catch up with Kate and see how shes getting on living in Italy and how her relationship with Alessandro is developing.

Kate faces many struggles in this book and they all make her a stronger woman.

We also see her relationship with Alessandros family improve and it was really good to see if they finally all accepted Kate into their family.

I just loved reading this. It just makes you want to get on a plane and jet off to Italy.

“A Wedding in Italy” is the sequel to Tilly Tennant’s “Rome is where the Heart is”. Remember? Kate fell for Alessandro during her trip to the Eternal City; back to England, she decided to settle in Italy and live with her Italian boyfriend.
However, even if you are guided by love, taking up residence in a new country is a long, difficult and winding road: it’s certainly not an easy thing!
Even if Kate’s path was marked out, she soon discovered that settling abroad, even in one of the world most remarkable place like Rome isn’t easy; actually, it proved to be tougher than expected. Indeed, once back in the Eternal City, her life was filled with many pitfalls: indeed, since she had limited resources after her divorce, she had to engage immediately in an active job hunting which wasn’t easy because she didn’t speak Italian; she also had to establish a positive relationship with her boyfriend’s family, which wasn’t such an obvious thing at least as regards some of Alessandro’s siblings... not to mention Orazia, an unpredictable psychopath who, because she was in love with her boyfriend, was bent on destroying Kate’s life. Furthermore, as if that wasn't enough, she had to get her marriage annulled (even if she was divorced) to marry in the Catholic Church (this being a cardinal prerequisite for pleasing Alessandro’s Mom and live peacefully with him)!
But there was no stopping her! True love overcomes everything, isn’t it? The couples that are meant to be go through everything that’s designed to tear them apart. Yes! Kate and Leonardo’s story has a happy ending, with a beautiful wedding ceremony. All's well that ends well!
I loved this book!

Contemporary Romance
Series: From Italy with Love, book #2
Publication date : April 14, 2017

We first met Kate in Rome Is Where The Heart Is and followed her journey to Rome where she fell in love with handsome Italian guy and found good friends. Now she is torn -- should she stay in England, be close to her sisters and mother or choose a newfound love and move to Italy permanently?

First story was pretty okay, sans some issues I had with Kate. This story seem slow and boring. Not much happen and I skim a lot. I wish female authors would create much stronger and determined heroines. Kate was insecure, frustrating and boring. I think Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Linda Howard has spoiled me with their sassy and unique heroines. They also have better writing style. When I read their stories, I get visual descriptions but Tilly Tennant's writing is more telling than showing.

Wow! What an amazing book! I read this in one sitting - once I started I couldn't put it down. I had read and loved the first in this series and was eagerly waiting for this book and it absolutely did not disappoint, surpassing the other, which I had thought was amazing, in every way. This is a lovely, heartwarming tale with a wonderful sense of place. I felt like I was on holiday, immersing myself in the life of the characters - the author has an incredible gift of bringing the place and characters to life. I really loved this book and would highly recommend it and this author to everyone.

I somehow missed reading the first book in the series even though it's on my NetGalley list. I'm not sure how I managed to read this one out of sequence. Although I am now very keen to go back and read the first book this one reads well as a standalone as you are introduced to everyone and pick up on the romance between Kate and Alessandro- who sounds like a real dream, coping with an Italian mama and several sisters who aren't entirely sure that Kate is the one for him.
The love between the two characters shines through and they overcome several obstacles throughout the book.
Kate s trying to get a dressmaking business off the ground and has made 2 dresses for her landlords wife. We get to meet her and although there is a language barrier I loved the scenes with the two of them in.
Lucetta's wedding is being planned in this book- and it's a huge Italian family event. A true love match that requires precise detailing and planning.
It's such an engaging book, making you fall in love with the characters, even the feisty ones and there are some very touching moments aswell.

It’s the second book in the series, but it works as a standalone as well. Kate fell in love with Alessandro, when she went on a trip to Italy and now after a visit home she’s back to Italy to be with her boyfriend. Kates life in Italy isn’t easy-although she has a loving boybriend, his family is a lot to handle. On top of her dream to start with dressmaking business, she has to win Alessandro’s mother and sisters acceptance.

I loved being reuinted with Kate and Alessandro, I fell in love with their story in book one already. The writing style and characters are amazing, the story just pulls you in. Can’t wait to read more by Tilly Tennant.

What a delight it is to return to Rome, and the story of Kate and Alessandro, who we first met in Rome is Where The Heart Is, in fact I was so wrapped up in antics of the Conti family, that I completely forgot to work out if this book could potentially be read as a standalone or not. It certainly works fantastically as a sequel!

Kate is now living in Rome, and trying to make her life there, so that can be with Alessandro. She is hoping to get her dressmaking business off the ground and in the meantime, is trying to find a job so she can pay the bills. She is starting to get along better with almost all of the Conti clan, however its family friend, and potential love rival Orazia that is going to potentially put a spanner in the works.

As this book kicks off we are treated to what a full blown Italian wedding is like, as Alessandro's sister Lucetta is getting married, and Kate is about to meet more of the extended family, and is nervous. I loved hearing about the various Italian wedding customs and the whole celebration seemed fairly traditional but with a nod to modern day life too.

Instead of having a guided tour this time of all of Rome's famous tourist attractions, we are instead, treated to one girls story as to how to become accepted in a city that isn't her own, in a language she is only just learning to speak, and I loved seeing how Kate was adapting.

Kate's friend Jamie from the first book is back as well, and brings a great deal of light heartedness to the proceedings, and is a breath of fresh air generally. Kate's sisters are also a presence, mainly via skype, and it was good to catch up with them too.

I loved seeing this different side to Rome, and the new characters that we meet in this book, Salvatore and Nunzia especially amongst others.

A lot of the book for various reasons integral to the plot is set in the Conti household, and we really get a much better feel for all of the younger Conti children, and it was great to get this sort of understanding into Italian family life, complete with Signora Conti's massive meals on a regular basis. Even the Christmas traditional meals are touched on, which was interesting, although personally I am glad I've never spent Christmas in Italy as that sounded like far far far too much food!

I completely enjoyed every second of A Wedding In Italy, which was a pleasure to read, complete with its ups and downs, and overall felt like returning to my "italian family" in this book, as I feel as though I would love Alessandro's family to be my own!

A Wedding in Italy is the follow up to Rome Is Where The Heart Is (which I absolutely adored!) and we are back in Rome finding out how Kate is settling into her new home.

I felt that Rome is Where the Heart is was centred around Kate and Alessandro, whereas A Wedding in Italy is focused more on Kate and her interaction with the Conti family, trying to form relationships and learn Italian. We pick up with Kate whilst she is searching for a job to make her life in Italy more secure whilst she is attempting to get her dressmaking business off the ground. Aside from Alessandro, Kate is being supported by his sisters Lucetta and Abelie however Maria is still being frosty (to say the least!) and Orazia is still attempting to steal Alessandro away from Kate.
In this instalment, Lucetta is getting married (in book 1 Kate first met Lucetta properly when making alterations to her wedding dress as a favour to Alessandro and formed a strong friendship with her). This means that Kate is meeting a lot of the family in one go and also having to help all the sisters with the final preparations which she is not relishing due to Maria (and of course Orazia getting herself involved like one of the family).

I was thrilled to find that Jamie, Kate’s American friend, was back both via FaceTime and in person. As were Kate’s sisters, Anna and Lily. Whilst the first book shared the tourist side of Rome, this one certainly settled more into the Italian way of life.

A Wedding in Italy has the same warmth in the narrative and the wonderful descriptions of Italy that transport you away. Most definitely one to be read after Rome is Where the Heart (which is absolutely no hardship!) to really understand how much Kate’s life has changed and the initial challenges she has faced. I’ll be honest, I did prefer the first book purely because I was lost in the romance of Kate and Alessandro however this is also an enjoyable read – one that would work exceptionally well as a holiday read somewhere hot!

I love Kate. I love Kate. I love Kate. I love Kate. I love Kate. Have I gotten my point across?

This book was just as lovely as the first. A tale of love, desperation, and purely just wanting to be happy with life. Going through this book, Kate really shows that it's okay not to be strong all of the time. I think that is a BIG lesson to learn. And Tilly Tennant displayed it perfectly.

The desperation of wanting to stay in Italy made my chest hurt. The longing to find a job, stay with her man, getting his family to like her, missing her family back in England: it was all too much. And that's okay. Because there is always a rainbow after a storm.

The job scene had me screaming. When you read about Kate's job, you will have that OH MY GOD moment, and your emotions will be all over the place. I know mine were.

The ending of this book is what solidified a 5 star rating from me. I was so happy, and it was exactly what I wanted to happen.

Tilly Tennant writes in a way that absolutely captivates me. I start with a chapter and say "I'll stop after this chapter, I have to get some things done". WARNING: YOU WILL NOT STOP UNTIL YOU HAVE REACHED THE LAST WORD.

It's been a while since I've read a book by Tilly Tennant and I was really excited about A Wedding in Italy. I just adore the cover and the blurb made it sound like totally my thing. However, while I did enjoy it, I have to say I am slightly disappointed. It could be the fact I had expectations as I know Tilly is an amazing author, or the fact most of my friends loved it and I assumed I will too.

A Wedding in Italy is the second one in a series, and while I haven't read the first part, I can say this one can definitely be read as a stand alone. While there are many characters, I had no trouble in remembering their names or their role. However I did read some reviews on Rome is Where the Heart Is (the first part in the series) to get a better feel of the MC, Kate and her history with Alessandro. While apparently the first part is more focused on their romance, in the second part we meet Alessandro's family and see Kate trying to fit in.

The family dynamics is what makes this book enjoyable and so easy to ready. Alessandro has three sisters and while Kate has established a good relationship with Lucetta and Abelie, Maria, Alessandro's oldest sister is really not fond of the English girl. The Italian Mum is also hard to impress, though she's kind and nice to Kate, it's no secret she'd like a good Italian wife for her only son. Rome is a wonderful place, but Kate is no tourist and she's gonna try hard to win her man. One of the reasons Maria dislikes her so much is the fact that Maria has plans of her own for her brother. There's nothing she'd like more than to see Alessandro get together with her friend. Orazia who'd make a perfect wife for him. She could even understand his working hours better, since she's a police officer herself.

The book opens with Lucetta getting married which is stressful for all the family members, including Kate, who will be meeting the whole family (400 wedding guests is not a small thing). All Kate wants is to be good for Alessandro and be accepted by his family. Kate is a lovable girl, she's trying hard to make ends meet and dreams of starting up her sewing business. She's very good at making dresses, though she's not that good when it comes to finances.

While I absolutely enjoyed reading about the Italian culture, their customs and the family bond between the members, I have to say I found the book a bit slow. It takes good 30% for things to start happening and it was then that I started enjoying the book. There's too much drama by the end, which I liked to certain extent however it was pretty much predictable.

What I liked about this book the most was the feel good factor, will the girl get her boy and show the world how great she is? That was what kept me reading. I wasn't the biggest fan of Kate however I liked her and appreciated her efforts to fit in though I think sometimes she tried too hard. I wish she was more ballsy and voiced her opinion more freely. I also wish there was more romance, but I guess I'll need to go back and read #1 in the series for that.

Overall, A Wedding in Italy is a cute, light, easy book perfect for a lazy weekend. While it isn't the most memorable book I've read this year, it certainly made me smile and feel good while reading it. I'd definitely read more from this author as I felt through the pages she's got something, that X factor needed in chick lit. Tilly knows how to create characters that will make you smile and feel entertained.

Kate did it. She decided that she wanted to up stakes and actually make a new life for herself in Italy: partly because she felt excited by the challenge and partly for the new love in her life: Alessandro. With a new love, how difficult could it be? Well, far diferent from her vacation moments, the allure of Italy and Rome haven’t dampened her love of her new life, but there are plenty of worries to contend with.

The book opens with a traditional wedding, Alessandro’s sister Lucetta is to be married, the wild-child of the Conti sisters, Lucetta and her sister Abelie have befriended Kate, treat her as a person and someone deserving of the love of their brother. Unfortunately, while Mama Conti likes Kate, there is a remove there, one that Kate is desperate to overcome to be accepted into the family. Making that even more difficult is his sister Maria, who, taking the side of her best friend Orazia, has decided that Kate must go, and Orazia is the one for Alessandro. It doesn’t help Kate’s security in her new relationship that Orazia and Alessandro work together on the police force, and that truly, the Contis are the only people she knows: her limited skills (although growing) in Italian, and her inability to find a job beyond the few dresses she makes or alters isn’t going to pay the bills.

Overall, this book takes us through Kate’s efforts to make a home for herself in Rome, where she can support herself and make a new life with new people and friends. It’s her second chance, and one she takes seriously: she doesn’t want to go back to England and get “stuck’ in her memories, the close proximity to her ex and his new life: her determination to make something new of her life, unlike anything she imagined actually possible is her goal. And with a series of moments, trials and every one of her friends wiling to speak up for her when she should, but doesn’t has Kate growing up quickly and learning to fight for what she wants.

I devoured this book in hours: waiting to see how Kate would manage the wicked sister Maria and her friend Orazia, how she would finally pin her landlord Salvatore to the wall for some desperately needed repairs on her apartment, and if she could finally make her mark with her dressmaking, or if the trial as an estate agent with Shauna would draw her in other directions. With appearances from her sisters, her new friend Jamie and his partner, and the solid family feel in the Conti household as she works to convince everyone that she is different from their Uncle Marco’s ex-wife Michelle, the story doesn’t lack for dramas and moments. But, it’s as wonderfully complex in terms of characters, interactions and carries the same sense of hope and growth as the first: less of the lightness overall as the first, but a truly wonderful story that will keep you engaged and cheering Kate forward as she grabs her dreams one by one.

Take a chance and drop into the Italy that Tilly Tennant presents: full of life, laughter, atmosphere and love. Just don’t expect that you won’t want to adopt the phrase Non tutte le ciambelle riescono col buco (not all doughnuts come with holes) for it is true – life doesn’t bring what you expect, but you can enjoy (and learn to love) the new form!

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

After I started reading "A wedding in Italy" I realised it is the second book in a series but although I also have to the first one on my Kindle, I continued reading the second book. I dind't have any trouble finding into the story.

The book seems to continue the story of Kate who moved to Italy and got together with Alessandro and is still sturggling to be accepted by his family.

The story was very entertaining and I found myself captured into the story very quickly and I was curious to follow Kate with her life in Italy. The book had a very light atmosphere and the setting it Italy was also very nice. For me it was a very nice feel-good-story.

Even though I started with the second book, I will read the first one to find out how Kate moved to Italy and how she met Alessandro.

This book picks up practically on the heels of the first book in the series so I recommend reading Rome Is Where the Heart Is first. Kate has officially made Rome her home but it isn’t all it is cracked up to be. Navigating the language barrier is not easy and it surprised me that Kate wasn’t doing something more proactive to learn Italian, like taking classes. Fortunately, many Italians speak English with varying degrees of proficiency so Kate is able to manage although it is clunky. I really liked the author peppering Italian phrases throughout the book so that while reading on my Kindle, I could look up the translations of phrases.

The author illustrates very well the struggle Kate is experiencing trying to find her place in Rome, needing to find a job to make ends meet but still having a dream of starting her own dress making business. Her landlord’s wife is her first customer but Kate is a little bit of a pushover in that she doesn’t charge the market rate for the dresses. Her landlord expects a discount but doesn’t discount her rent. Allesandro and his family are quite vocal to Kate about this and often want to speak out on Kate’s behalf but she doesn’t want them to. This theme is present throughout most of the book and it did seem to get quite repetitive. Kate is persistent about making it on her own without having to rely on anyone but sometimes help from the right source can be a blessing and it takes quite a while before Kate realizes this. I had a lot of empathy for Kate and was able to relate to her situation of trying to find her place in a new country, fitting in and making it her home.

Getting to know Alessandro’s family better in this book was enjoyable and Kate’s insecurity around them was understandable. The author’s creation of the minor characters in the story added more depth to the story as they really impact Kate in many ways, especially as some of them take more time warming up to Kate’s presence and whether they accepted her as a good match for Alessandro. The author has quite a few surprises up her sleeve that I didn’t expect but really enjoyed. The story moves at a smooth pace I really enjoyed tagging along with Kate through the streets of Rome.

My Final Verdict: Overall, I found this story delightful, and it has only inspired me even more to add Rome to my bucket list of travel destinations. I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy stories where the girl gets her happily ever after in exotic locations.

Thank you to the publisher, Bookouture, who provided an advance reader copy of this book via NetGalley.

The beauty of a book by Tilly is you know you are in for a treat before you even begin. She has a natural storytelling ability that makes you want to curl up and go to wherever she is writing about.

This time it’s a follow on from Rome is Where The Heart Is, Kate is now living in the city, is keen to set up a business but has meagre savings a dingy flat and frankly needs a job to survive. But love should conquer all, right?

She is with Alessandro whom she adores but she also faces language barriers, his family, religious differences all meddling with her relationship.

The Conti family is a large one and Kate has to deal with them all. She gets along with most of his sisters but Maria is intent on splitting them apart, she feels Alessandro would be much better off with her friend Orazia who fancies the pants off him.
Mama Conti cannot accept her darling son will marry an English girl who is divorced!

Poor Kate has to run the gauntlet of acceptance .. she longs for her own family to support her but of course they are in another country.
I love Rome so this book feeds my desire for the atmosphere as well as all the food, great descriptive writing, don’t read if you are hungry!

I liked Kate and Alessandro and certainly didn’t envy them having to cope with such an extended family … a great story of family squabbles, twists and turns and plenty of entertainment for an ideal summer read.
My thanks to Tilly, Netgalley and Bookouture … I read and reviewed this voluntarily.

I have jetted back to Italy, to Rome to see how Kate is getting on with the new life she has created for herself. Although this is the second novel, featuring the same characters it is perfectly acceptable for you to be able to read it as a standalone as there is enough background given for you to pick up the thread of the story.

Kate is still in Rome, still in love with Alessandro and still trying to find the perfect job and place to live.

This is no longer the Rome of holidays, carefree days and plenty of gelato - this is reality. This is dealing with landlords who suddenly forget to understand English, who do nothing about problems with Kate's little flat.

This is the reality of being in love with a man from a family with strong Italian values and beliefs and who are finding it difficult to accept Kate, an outsider into their lives, especially when she is English and divorced.

Added to Kate's problems are trying to understand why all the women who say they care about Alessandro, are trying to do their best to stop him being happy and of course Kate being happy.

With all this reality around her can Kate find love in Rome and can it really be with Alessandro?

This book, like the first is an enjoyable warm read both with the characters and of course the heat of the romance, made even more so by being in one of the most romantic cities in Europe. There is the added dimension of seeing a real Italian family with all their ups and downs, their tears and laughter along with their approach to everything being cooking wonderful food. You can feel the pounds piling on as you read this novel!

An ideal summer read or one for when you need warming up! Not only does it have romance but it has laughter too - what more could you want from a book?

Thank you the publisher through netgalley for the opportunity to read this book.

A Wedding in Italy along with Rome is Where the Heart is, the first novel in the From Italy with Love series are out now.

It was so lovely to return to Rome to check in on how Kate and boyfriend Alessandro was getting on after the first book! This book has a great light-hearted and warm feel to it, maybe it's because it's set in Rome I'm not sure but I enjoyed it, and I think I actually enjoyed it more than the first one!

Kate, who is now living in Rome, is trying to settle into life there but is finding it hard. She's trying to find a full time job so she can pay her rent as well as trying to get her dressmaking business going. As well as Alessandro's interfering family, one close family friend member Orazia will do everything she can to make sure Kate leaves Italy for good. This story is full of twists and turns that will leave you not wanting to put the book down!

The book is lovely and is a really enjoyable and if anything it will certainly make you want to visit Rome! The plot and characters were much more interesting and believable in this second book of the series and I would definitely recommend it if you're already a fan of Tilly Tennant!

Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for a chance to read this book in return of an honest review.

Having enjoyed the first book in this series I couldn't wait to revisit the characters. Kate and Alessandro are trying to get used to life together, but there are a few barriers that need to be broken down before that can happen.

The main problem is the fact that Alessandro's mother doesn't believe Kate is a suitable match for her son, and she isn't the only one. There are others who are determined to show Alessandro that his true love lies elsewhere. Kate has to fight to prove that she is the right one to make him happy, but being away from her family she is alone in this.

The story is so well done, and the author throws in a lot of humour throughout once again. This story makes me want to visit Italy so much.

Many thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for providing a copy.

Kate is still neurotic and has low self esteem. Have a bottle of red and grow up already Kate.

This is the second book in the From Italy With Love series (I posted my review about the first book earlier this month so you can catch that further down the feed).  I was really keen to get my hands on this book and I was genuinely excited and looking forward to seeing where the story of Kate and Alessandro would go, would they make it? Would the family approve? Well having now finished it I can say that I really loved it – lots of twists and turns, a rollercoaster of emotions at times but it all ended as I hoped and it really is “a feel good summer holiday romance” as it claims and its one I’d definitely recommend you get for any summer holidays where you can relax and lie in the sun.  I have been a huge fan of this authors works for a while and this one is excellent – 5 stars from me!

Tilly Tennant became one of my favorite author this past year. I realized that every time I read one of her book, I really have a good time. I loved the first part the series and I couldn't wait to read the second part "a wedding in Italy" and I finally got to do it. The second part is even better than the first part! I really like the main character Kate, she is a very nice person and to which we can easily relate to. I really liked discovering a bit more all the sisters of her lover, Alessandro. And Alessandro... in my opinion he is the perfect boyfriend! I want one like him! ;-) I really recommend this book! it was a perfect read!

This is another gorgeous read by Tilly Tennant, which was just as I expected after loving the first in this series, Rome Is Where The Heart Is. If you haven't already read book 1 then I highly recommend that you do, closely followed by A Wedding In Italy, as the story follows on.
I warmed to Kate straight away and I have thoroughly enjoyed catching up with her again. She is a very real and likeable character who is much braver than I would ever be. I like the fact that her move to Italy hasn't been plain sailing as I think this makes it a much more realistic story. (Although we all like a fairy tale sometimes.) I love her beloved Alessandro, he is such a sweet character. They are an adorable couple, but not without their disagreements.
Alessandro's family are amazing! I love his mother, especially, and the fact that there are lots of them and they are all so close. They remind me of my family, although we don't all congregate at my Mums most days as they seem to!
I love how close Kate is with her two sisters also. It would be so hard for me to move away from my family (I struggled living in different counties, let alone countries!), so it very easy to understand how much she misses her sisters.
Kate doesn't have it easy settling in to her new life and at times it seems like the world is against her and she, understandably, worries that she might have to admit defeat and move back home, but she's not going to give up easily and thankfully she has her happy ending.
Beautifully written, as always. I highly recommend!
Many thanks, as always, to Bookouture for my auto-approval status on Netgalley and to the lovely Kim Nash for inviting me to take part in the blog tour.

My thanks to the Publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this story in exchange for an honest review.

I gave this a 3.5 stars or 7/10. I've not read the first in the series, saying that though, this can be read quite easily as a standalone story.

Kate has fallen for Alessandro in a big way. She's made her mind up that she wants to live in Italy, but she's got such a lot to prove to his family that this isn't just a holiday romance. She's got to find herself a job to help make ends meet. She's found somewhere to live, but it's not ideal as the landlord isn't the easiest person to get on with and the language can be quite a barrier.

This is an ideal summer read, it's a romance with some comedy thrown in for good measure, as Kate does manage to get herself in some situations.

I enjoyed the story and felt that the characters were very well developed. I've never been to Italy, it's somewhere that I hope to visit. Tilly Tennant you brought Italy into my home for a few days while I escaped in your book. Thank you.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED book 1 "Rome is Where the Heart Is", so I had high hopes for "A Wedding in Italy" but was super disappointed.

The biggest negative for me was Kate, who was a completely different character than she was in the first book. In book 1, she got rightfully angry and stood her ground when Matt was leaving her, and though she experienced all the stages of heartbreak leading up to her trip to Italy, she took the plunge and went to Rome, had a bold adventure, met a new best friend, fell in love with the city and a good man, stood up to her soon-to-be ex-husband AGAIN, and moved to Italy for her forever home. She was bold, confident, and decisive. In book 2, she was wishy-washy, paranoid, whiny, pessimistic, and insecure. You'd think her insecurities would stem from her suspicions that Matt was unfaithful, but they stem purely from the fact that Orazia is attractive and a police officer - who Alessandro had every chance to marry before Kate ever arrived in Rome yet did not even desire a relationship after briefly dating, which he explained to Kate in the first book.

In addition, it seemed like every chapter ended with her wondering if it would be the end of her life in Rome. For someone bound and determined to move to Rome and start her own business, in book 2 she was all of a sudden fearful of this too and made very little effort to get her name out there, and if not for her landlord's wife referring Kate to her friend, it seems like her career would have dead-ended at the family-and-friends discount she provides to the few people she does open up to about her abilities. I also got tired of hearing how awful she was at learning Italian and how it made her feel so inadequate, but she was unemployed for the majority of the book so should have had plenty of time for practice, so after the first couple of times she mentioned it, I was just like "then stop whining and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT."

Once the cat was out of the bag about her divorce with Alessandro's sisters, there is a minor falling out but after discussing it. Lucetta and Abelie both make it clear that they are on Kate's side, but when Jamie calls her later and asks her if her has it right that everyone has turned against her except Alessandro, she says something that, "That about sums it up!" This wasn't true and just came across as drama-queen, attention-getting behavior, more of the pessimism and insecurity she puts off so strongly in the second book that wasn't there in book 1. Is she so insecure and paranoid that she thinks they're lying and really are against her? Or is she so dramatic and pessimistic that she knows what she's saying isn't true but wants to be fawned over by Jamie (because being fawned over by Alessandro just isn't good enough because Orazia likes him?) and have him feel sorry for her? Her response to him really stood out to me in this book as blatant denial of reality on her part and didn't make sense for her - or any rational person - to do.

Lastly, her back-and-forth about marrying Alessandro was the worst part about her in this book. She and Alessandro have frequent conversations about marriage, and she lectures him early in the book that "you know we're going to have to make a decision about this at some point"; yet throughout the novel he never once hides his intentions to marry her, and she is in fact the one holding it up, and is so openly ornery whenever anyone in his family brings it up, knowing how important it is to them, as if it shouldn't be just because it's inconvenient for her. Her sudden disinclination to marriage didn't jive at all with (A) her decision to move to Rome for Alessandro (she said in book 1 she'd have moved there regardless, but he was a deciding factor! The only friend besides Lucetta she made in Rome was Jamie who lived in America anyway, so why would she have gone to Rome and leave her sisters behind when she didn't know anyone there, didn't speak Italian, or have a job lined up?), and (B) her constant paranoia about Orazia and her desperation to not lose Alessandro to her. If she was so in love with Alessandro and so afraid of losing him, why resist marriage, especially when your imagined "rival" for his love would marry him in a heartbeat if given the chance? Not that anyone should marry someone just to keep them from someone else, but if they mean that much to you that you'd be completely devastated without him, then what's the hold up??? And if it's important to him, why be so cold as to shut down the conversation whenever it comes up, but then always bring up how you're so worried about the person who does want to marry him? It just didn't make sense and she came across as spoiled.

I just felt like Kate did not fit her character from book 1 at all, and her negative outlook and stubbornness (directed at all the wrong things) almost ruined the book for me. I liked the story line and most of the other characters, and the imagery of the Roman sites and the mother's cooking is excellent, so those factors got it up to 3 stars.

I have to admit that I enjoyed the second book much more than the first. I really loved the intrigue with friends and family members, and thoroughly enjoyed watching Kate's relationships develop with Alessandro's sisters and mother. The relationships felt authentic - some family members warmed to Kate immediately, whereas others took longer (or a lot longer!) to really welcome Kate. A lot of the reasons why some of them were...cold...are explained in this book, and I appreciated that background.

I thought the book had a nice, solid pace to it (the first, for me, felt a little uneven). The descriptions of Rome were great in this book (better than the last one, I thought). This time I could *really* feel the food and atmosphere and chaos that is Rome. Kate's adventures in real estate were fascinating - in so many ways! I was livid on Kate's behalf at how the one real estate transaction ended, and that's when I knew I was hooked on Kate.

I'm definitely hoping there will be another book in this series, and I look forward to following Kate's journey in Italy.

This is the second book after Rome is Where the Heart is.

Kate has followed her heart and moved to Rome. She is now adapting to her new environment with her boyfriend Alessandro. She is struggling to find a job and learn the language. Her hopes to start her dressmaking business seems to be crashing. She misses being around her family.

This book deals with Alessandro's family for major part with his sister's wedding, Italian family drama, their values and his mom's hesitation in accepting Kate.

Tilly Tennant has made this book more realistic with Kate's struggle after moving to a new place. She makes it easy to bond with characters and this book had them in more feisty manner. There were additional characters as well.

Tilly's writing is captivating with gorgeous descriptions, entertainment, twists and turns. She filled it with warmth, family values, love, humour and friendship with great understanding.

This book was a pleasure to read and I definitely recommend it for summer reads. Both her books in the series are ones you could pack up for vacation or consider as beach reads or to escape someplace nice as Rome. Go ahead and check them out.
