Curse or gift? Even though her beloved, psychically gifted granny called her ability to see and talk to dead people, as well see images and gain information from people simply by touching them a gift, Ronnie had pretty much decided the whole thing was a curse. After all, anyone who discovered she had these abilities either considered her a freak or a crazy person. Even her own mother had claimed she was “sick”, and had abandoned her. What more proof did she need than that?

Veronica’s granny finished raising her after her mother left, and she became her best (and only) friend. Her biggest fear was allowing anyone to get close enough to her to discover her curse, so she kept her distance, living a sadly solitary life. When Ronnie grew older she also ruled out romance and love. She had already witnessed her father’s heartbreak when her mother discovered his psychic abilities and walked out leaving him a broken man with their “sick” daughter to care for on his own.

However, Ronnie was rarely alone. She had an unending parade of dead people who constantly sought her out hoping she would give messages to their loved ones for them. But Ronnie had quickly learned that the loved ones of the deceased did not take kindly to such messages, generally calling her mad or some kind of charlatan. So she tried to ignore these ghosts and clung to the hope that they would simply give up and go away, as most did, in time. One young teen ghost named Letitia, was not so easily dissuaded, and over time, she eventually became a kind of friend to Veronica. She wanted her to befriend and help her older brother, but Ronnie steadfastly refused. She was already having enough problems in the world of the living with a male named Brad. The last thing she needed was to have to deal with Letitia’s brother, Lee, too.

SENSING YOU by J.M. Adele is an intriguing, well-written and easy to read tale that I recommend to anyone who likes a healthy dose of paranormal with their romance.

This was the first book I have read by this author but I can certainly say it won’t be the last! I was looking for something different to my normal read and picked up Sensing You. Something was drawing me to this book so I started to read. Best. Decision. Ever! I LOVED this book so much. When I wasn’t reading it, I was wishing I was or thinking about reading it.

Ronnie’s isn’t just your average girl. She has an ability that she tried to deny for so long until forces bigger than her made it so she couldn’t ignore it any longer which sent her crashing into Brad. Literally.

This book has everything. Love, loss, heartache and happiness. Not in that order. I am so glad I picked up Sensing You.

Loved it! If you are looking for a paranormal romantic suspense read that instantly draws you in then this is the book for you! I was literally transfixed with Ronnie and Brad’s story and couldn’t read it fast enough. The mix of paranormal, intrigue, suspense and romance encapsulated everything I loved about this book!!

Ronnie has inherited her Grandmother’s gift of a sixth sense and can see and speak to the dead; trouble is Ronnie doesn’t see it as a gift more like a curse. Unable to open herself up and share her secret, she evades forming any meaningful relationships and hides behind a solid wall of bitchiness. The only person she lets in is her Granny.

When the ghost of a persistent young woman infiltrates Ronnie’s world, she can no longer avoid the visions plaguing her. Reluctantly, she starts to open up to friendship, happiness and love, discovering that fate has more surprises in store for her future than she imagined. Including a man who might actually be able to understand the pain she harbours under her tough exterior.

Cue Brad…harbouring demons himself will he be able to open up to Ronnie? Will he be able to break down her walls? Will they be able survive what fate clearly has in store for them?

As Ronnie learns more about her gift, she finds herself in situations she isn’t prepared for. Now she’s in grave danger. Will she be able to stop a madman before she becomes his next target?

The plot flowed with effortless ease, with likable characters both the main and secondary had depth and personality. Told through dual narrative something again I enjoy as I like to have insight into the characters thoughts and feelings. As I’ve said I really loved this book I had been in a book funk prior to reading Sensing You and this instantly pulled me out of it!

After having never read anything previously by J.M. Adele I'm ecstatic at discovering a new author and can’t recommend this book enough to fans of paranormal romantic suspense reads.

I enjoyed this book about a woman who has inherited a sixth sense from her father and grandmother.
Veronica (Ronnie) Williams can see and communicate with spirits of the dead who seek her out. The ability to do so has had painful ramifications for her, and she wants nothing to do with it. She has withdrawn from most of society, shunning relationships because she does not what anyone to know what she experiences.
One particular spirit, Letitia, seeks her out over and over. Finally, Ronnie listens to what it has to say and what it wants her to do. It turns out that Letitia had become involved with evil influences while she was alive and now she wanted to make things right.
Veronica’s grandmother (who also has the sixth sense) encourages her to learn how to use her “gift” to help others. Ronnie helps a co-worker, she meets the man she will love and she rescues someone who has been in the clutches of the same evil that Letitia had become entangled with. However, sometimes helping leads to different results—joy, anger and feelings of betrayal, even danger to herself.

I have always been fascinated by the paranormal. I certainly do not have this ability—but I have met two people (a man and a woman) who claimed to be able to sense when they met people who were unaware that they were ill, or going to die. I met the man in passing—and he felt that “gift” was actually a curse. I had a long term acquaintance with the woman who had it; as a child, she had been chastised for blurting out what she sensed and she had learned not to say anything. By the time I met her she had accepted her “gift” as part of her life and it was something that she rarely admitted to having, but she lived a relatively normal life. (She had inherited it from her grandmother also.)

This was a good read. It is different. There is mystery, danger (although I was surprised at how the confrontation with evil ended) romance, friendship and a look at a paranormal element that could be seen as a gift or a curse.

Do you like a book with a little mystery, supernatural abilities – or at least someone who can see and talk to the dead, and a good romance? Then Sensing You by J.M. Adele is definitely the book to read!
In Ronnie’s family, people have a 6th sense. Like her grandmother and her father, she too can see and talk to the dead, but she tries to hide her gift and doesn’t want to learn to use it or to use it period. After seeing what happened to her father, she believes her gift is more of a curse. And then suddenly, she is practically forced to use it when a certain ghost begs her to help her brother. Ronnie finally agrees and realizes that this man is the other half of her soul.

Brad lost his sister in an accident, and he isn’t sure what it is about Ronnie, but he knows she’s special and has already fallen in love with her. She has her issues, but he is determined to break through her walls, but what will he find on the other side? And what is her connection to his sister?

4 stars!! This book is a page turner! You find yourself unable to put it down because you need to know exactly what’s going on, and there is so much more than meets the eye. I will say that Ronnie got on my nerves ever so slightly and there were a few times I wanted to slap her, but then I reminded myself she has zero social skills, but she’s learning. Great book and a must read!

Veronica "Ronnie" Williams has inherited her grandma's ability to communicate with spirits and lately one named Letitia will not leave her alone. She tries to ignore her but her grandma says she needs to accept her gift as it will possibly save her and others.

When Ronnie is forced to move from her "psycho" roommate Felicity Stevens she meets Brad who challenges everything Ronnie believes about herself and makes her question every rule she has ever made.

Yet Ronnie feels evil around her and must figure out whether she can accept the spirits and keep her secret "gift" hidden from those around her.

I enjoyed this book and a glimpse into the "gift" that Ronnie was given. I completely understood why she tried not to get to anyone after what happened with her own mother. I loved Ronnie's grandma and thought she was awesome the way she was with Brad and with Ronnie herself.

Brad was a great guy but I understood is shock towards the end and where he was just overwhelmed by everything but I liked that he had reconnected with Ben and that gave him the stability he needed to deal with everything.

I was happy with everything that was discovered with Felicity and I would love to know more about her! I think it would also be interesting to know a bit more about Derek Lindstrom as well and how he got to be the way he was.

Great read!

I've always had a fascination with the ability to see beyond this realm; clairvoyants, mediums and psychics; whatever their speciality or term, that "sixth sense" ability, that "gift" is something I've always dreamt of possessing.

In Sensing You Veronica "Ronnie" Williams has that gift though to her it's a curse; responsible for the loss of so much in her life she would rather hide from it, and as a result much of the world around her. But the other realm, and her wily Granny have their own plans to have Ronnie embrace her gift before it's too late.

Ms Adele has crafted a beautiful story around Ronnie's ability; weaving in a tender love story that is also not short on chemistry or passion, vivid and colourful descriptions of the sights and scenery of life in Brisbane, and a dark backstory that builds to a tense and violent confrontation making for a dramatic conclusion.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and could not put it down, so I am immensely pleased this is just the first in what I have every faith will be a fabulous spirited series!
I can't wait for the next instalment!

Ronnie has grown up with only her grandmother in her corner. Everyone else freaks out when they learn of what Ronnie can do. Even her mother, a first class b**ch if ever there was one, leaves her. Ronnie has developed a shell which helps to keep others at bay. Fate has a different idea for Ronnie's life though, and circumstances move beyond her control, both in her professional life and also her personal.

This is a very well-written Romance, with a hint of paranormal/supernatural in the form of ghosts and visions. It is a slow burner between Ronnie and Brad, which made it all the more satisfying when they made their moves. The struggles that Ronnie faces as she tries to change her life, and let people in, are real. Brad has his own baggage from the past that he is still trying to deal with.

This is a fantastic book, and I would love to see more of these characters and the supporting cast.

I loved how different this story was.

Ronnie (Veronica) has a sixth sense... she sees dead people. Growing up people ridiculed her, making her feel like a freak, even her own mother left. Thank goodness she has a kindred spirit in her grandmother, who raised her and also has the sixth sense.

Because of her upbringing Ronnie has built walls and mostly secluded herself, never making many friends. Until a ghost comes to ask for help. She pushes Ronnie to help her in this task where she meets Bradlee. But it's more than just Bradlee, her task is the catalyst for a chain of events already set in motion.

Bradlee slowly starts to take down her walls and Ronnie begins to trust but will he turn away once he knows her secret?

And will the ghost's task put Ronnie in danger?

Go one click now, you won't be able to put it down.

Sigh... What an Amazing story!

This is the second novel I have read by J.M. and Sensing You is a fabulous read, suspenseful, supernatural, and full of love. The writer did an amazing job balancing it all. Traveling with Ronnie while she trudged through the shit-storm that she thought was her life, shoulders back and head high. I loved her spirit and Brad's devotion to her even through his own pain. Great read one of my favorites.

Being psychic is not something Veronica has embraced in her life as it’s only caused her upset and drama. Now, she doesn’t have a choice.

Veronica, or Ronnie, is a twenty-four year old librarian who is a straight talker, I totally love that about her, her honesty is refreshing and at times lots of fun. The fact that she sees her psychic ability as a curse is totally understandable but sad too as it means she’s distanced herself from others. Brad is twenty-five and now studying architecture. He is a total gem of a guy and right from the start you find yourself cheering for him, in the hopes that he can get through Ronnie’s barriers.

Ronnie’s Granny is a real pip, I love her character. Actually, there is a large dose of great humour sprinkled throughout this book and it’s in many forms from fun banter between various characters to different scenes where things go A over T, literally. This balances the darker element of mystery running in the story, the ‘what is that evil professor doing?’ type of mystery. It pulls you in and you find yourself dying to know what is happening but also concerned for Ronnie too.

I thoroughly recommend this story to everyone, it is sensational.

description

This is Ronnie and Brad’s story told in alternating POV.
Sensing you was a great 4 star read. I couldn’t help but feel a little spooked at times when Ronnie would see the ghosts. The sixth sense that she has allows her to communicate with them. She has felt different her whole life and has kept to herself. While jogging in the park trying to outrun a ghost who has asked her for a favor, she runs literally into a man that she is destined to be with.

“You will spend the rest of your life with this man.”

When Brad sees her he feels relief that he has finally found the girl he has been looking for. Brad had put his life on hold to spend time with his sister before she passed. He is now going back to college to get his degree in architecture.

As the story moves forward we see Brad and Ronnie connect in several ways. The loves scenes were great. We also watch them build a level of trust and taking chances. Of course they don’t get away that easily. There is the professor that Ronnie’s old roommate is seeing. She can’t help but feel creeped out whenever she sees him. There is a twist that explains everything.
I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great Romantic Suspense. Thank you J.M. Adele for a great read.

Just finished editing Sensing You by J.M. Adele, a paranormal romantic suspense novel.

Sensing You is a story of a woman who has sixth sense. Her gift, or curse, has forced her to keep people at a distance. Experience has taught her that being different can breed rejection. Her own mother rejected her. Can you blame her for hiding behind a wall of bitchiness? Thankfully, she had a grandmother who shared her gift of seeing things behind the veil. She was her only friend. But even with the support of her granny, Ronnie has never learned to embrace her uniqueness. It has brought her nothing but trouble.

One day, she meets a very persistent ghost who asked her for a favor... She was about to start a chain of events that will change Ronnie's life. Opening her up to friendship and love... if she doesn't get killed first. Scary stuff for Ronnie, the friendship and love part.

Then, a man she "knew" was destined to be hers literally bumped into her while she was out running. Sparks fly. Nerves tingle. Can she take the chance and give him access to her deepest secrets? Will Brad still want her if he knew she sees things?

Of course, there's a bad guy. A really creepy professor who has his eyes on Ronnie. But she doesn't know how they're all connected. And she doesn't find out until the end... when it's almost too late.

This is a beautiful romantic story of trust, allowing people in, taking chances, and living with the burdens we carry. With hot love scenes sprinkled in between - and suspense, enough to keep you turning the pages.

This was such an interesting read. I was super confused right off the bat, but once you get past that the entire novel makes sense. Sensing You bounces between the two main characters points of view. Between Veronica (aka Ronnie), and Brad, you learn that Ronnie has a sixth sense. She can see, talk, and listen to the dead. Ghosts wander in and out of Ronnie's vision on a daily basis, and she does her best to ignore them. But when one reluctant ghost simply won't buzz off, and mind her own, Ronnie finally sits down to chat with her.

That reluctant ghost is none other than Brad's sister. Hunky, adorable, Brad who blames his sister's death on himself. Turning to alcohol, he doesn't exactly plan on stopping anytime soon until he sees Ronnie at a local shop. Sensing something about her, he turns to working out to find that rush that he needs. When he literally runs into her, knocking her flat on her tail bone, he has to find a way to get into her icy cold ways.

Brad's sister has a hand in making them meet more often than once. When Ronnie's old roommate situation fails to work out, she turns to the boards where she is put into contact with Brad - unconventionally, of course, via ghost vibes. What comes from Brad, and Ronnie's relationship is pretty awesome though. I really enjoyed their chemistry, and really liked the fact that J.M. Adele write in the smaller characters that made the story a whole. I was a bit confused in the beginning but really got through it, and enjoyed the story overall.

A strong 4 Bars to Ms. J.M. Adele!

If you are looking for a quick, light paranormal romance than this is a good book for you. It was an easy read. I call it light paranormal because, at least when I think of paranormal I think vampires and werewolves and fairies. This book deals with sixth sense.

Veronica has inherited her Grandmother’s sixth sense. Most of her life she has treated it as a curse and refuses to learn anything about it. It has caused a lot of problems in her life and she just wants to be normal. Somehow she gets herself involved in something big and brings danger to herself and others around her.

Brad is someone who is going through a lot of grief when he runs into Veronica. He can’t really see past what is going on in his life. Fate or maybe a little help from some meddling ghosts being him Veronica. Once he sees her he can’t seem to get her out of his mind.

Throw in some creepy bad guys, a crazy roommate, meddling Grandmothers and some persistent ghosts and you have a recipe for danger.

This was a fast paced book that I wish just had a little more to it. The plot was good but I felt lacking in some parts. Overall I liked the characters but at the same time I didn’t feel fully connected to them and their story. I was left wanting more. I am curious what the author’s plans for the next book in the series so I will be keeping an eye out for that.

I loved this storyline. Paranormal, romance, intrigue and danger all wrapped up in a great little book.
You are drawn into this tale from the start. The characters are interesting. interesting The story is richly woven. I was hooked.
Ronnie has inherited a gift from her grandmother. She can sense emotions and feel vibes from the slightest touch from a stranger. This makes her avoid crowds or busy places. Oh, she can also see and speak to the dead. Ronnie doesn't want her gift but tries to get buy without close to people. That is until Brad literally knocks her on her butt. Both are immediately drawn to the other but Ronnie tries to keep her distance. Brad has his own demons to conquer. After a persistent young woman's spirit follows Ronnie constantly, she is forced to accept the gift she has in order to help the ghost show her true story and the secrets in her life. This brings Ronnie and Brad together though the more of the past that is revealed raises the suspense and danger Ronnie finds herself in.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend this author. Reviewed on behalf of WTMO book reviews.

I really enjoyed this book. It was different, but well worth reading. When you read this you will put yourself in Ronnie's shoes and try to figure out if it is a gift or curse.

Ronnie is dealt a terrible hand, but she has her grandmother. What she doesn't realize is there are more people on her side than she realizes.

Brad seems to keep running into Ronnie (both literally and physically). He is finally starting to get back to normal after bad things happen in his life.

Would you accept or deny a gift that many people seem to not understand. I think it would be hard to have this gift/curse and try to ignore it. It would also be hard to explain it to other people or feel like you could trust others. This would definitely make it hard to make new friends and try to stay normal. Then there is the suspense that is in this book. I didn't expect that to be in there but added to a great story.

As the first volume in a series, I expect to see scene setting, character building and relationship development. I got those. And, although the cast of main characters is reasonably small, I felt that the author did a good job of cultivating the bonds between them.

There was a background level of tension and threat which built steadily to the finale, which felt a little anti-climactic to me. I anticipated a complex, dangerous conclusion, but I got more of a fizzle than a bang.

That said, this is a promising start to the series. I await the next with interest.

Sensing You is a different para book for me to read, I haven't read a lot if sixth sense books but I enjoyed reading. I had a hard time with how the danger all ended so quickly because I thought it was bigger than what it really was. The writing flowed nicely and the characters were relatable. It has romance, mystery and paranormal all rolled into one. I hope to get more of the series and the characters we are introduced to.
