I really liked this. First time I've read Omegaverse for a manga. I picked it out because the cover art reminded me of Rihito Takarai but this was much more expressive (but just as Hot)

Considering it's Omegaverse, it does follow your typical Alphas are better, Omegas are sexualized theme. Takaba and Karasuma both hate the other's dynamic but it doesn't just stay there. Takaba gets used to being so close to an Omega and starts to respect how Takaba has lived his life considering the way society treats him. And likewise, Karasuma's teasing turns into legit fondness. Nothing I wouldn't expect but there's feels and cuteness.

Also, it has a super sexy neck scene, like what more could I ask for?
**warning: this manga features multiple partners and group sex**

Was teilweise echt komisch aussah.

Story 4/5

tw - sexual assault

but most of the time, a/b/o are simply used to excuse rape, sexual assault and too much smut.
i am a sucker for well-made a/b/o. those about mates and bonding, hierarchy, family, and overcoming boundaries.
this one had a part of the above, but the overwhelming amount of smut just made my stomach turn more than anything really. in between gags, you could hear me mutter an "aww," but yea.. no.

I love these two together. Their connection begins with some hostility, but they soon see the truth of who the other is. This is pretty sad at times, but ends very sweetly. The art is gorgeous too. I'm a little sad the next books feature a different couple, but I liked what I saw of that character in this volume, so I'm still excited to try it out.

The Omegaverse is as surprising as shocking. I found Kurui Naku No Wa Boku No Ban (it’s my turn to moan insanely/ cry) and I cannot get over it. The Omegaverse can be as brutal as beautiful. It has charming characters, but also disgusting villains. In this Universe there are more than just two genders at birth. Men and women can be alpha, omega, or beta. The alphas are members of the high society and use to have the best jobs. Betas are in the middle, and omegas are the lowest.

Omegas are different from everybody else. During puverty their bodies change and start creating sweet smell and hormones. When they have the heat, they need sex. If there’s an alpha nearby, they’ll go crazy and even attack the omega. So, yes, rape in this world goes rampant. Omegas need to take a special medicine to repress the effects of their heat, and the strength of their smell.

This wasn’t particularly good. The writing and flow of action was awkward, making it difficult to follow what was happening from panel to panel. I often had to go back to figure it out. The world concept is interesting ish, but by casting issues that are largely women’s issues onto men and then having no female characters (I wasn’t sure women existed in this world until halfway through), it comes off as more sexist than I think the writer intended. Finally, the sex scenes come up so often and so out of nowhere that they’re not even all that fun, and they’re not particularly well done either. I’m sure this book will be someone’s cup of tea, but I highly considered bailing and only continued to the end because sometimes when you don’t finish a book you keep thinking about it for a while after and I wanted to move this one along.

This is one of my first mangas with theme Omegaverse, and from them all, this is my favourite.
The story is a little bit heavy, just by the scenes but that's the joke. The scenes.

I loved every single part, I really recommend it.

This was... a lot. It's hard for me to separate out just how much emotional/dramatic baggage this story is carrying around from my own feelings about what it's portraying. I want to not read too much into it, but it's hard not to. Karasuma is such a tragic character, and no amount of owning his own sexuality/choices is ever going to make him seem less tragic to me- he's constantly degraded and used and abused and just because he's consenting doesn't make that any less awful to read?

I don't know. The art is pretty, the characters are consistent and have a believable enemies-ish-to-lovers vibe that follows a realistic misconception of each other followed by getting to know each other properly. The world is somewhat fleshed out with side characters and some form of emotional journey for the MCs. The antagonist was a bit of a straw man, but he served his purpose. As with most omegaverses, this really flirts with dubcon in potentially problematic ways, but find me an omegaverse that doesn't. (I exaggerate. I know that green flag omegaverse stories do exist). Toxicity is consistent without being anything too pearl-clutching.

Overall, I think I was just the wrong reader for this. If you like omegaverse and the tragic backstories it tends to bring to the table, and you like an office romance, this will be a good read for you.

Ahh, I have a hard time with certain Omegaverse stories. I’m not super into the SA that takes place multiple times throughout the story either.

I did like Takaba (the top) although he falls into a trope category that I’m not fond of; he is the best character in the book. It’s actually the first time I’ve read about an omega SA’ing the alpha. Takaba actually has self control and I can appreciate that.

I can’t stand Karasuma (the bottom) he’s just very annoying to me and I hate the fact that he continued to indulge in bad habits even though Takaba is clearly trying to help him not do those self destructive things.

I also don’t really get the “I’m an alpha and I hate omegas” and “I’m an omega and I hate alphas” trope. It’s just not my cup and tea personally. I feel like it can be done well but with this being one volume the story is kind of clunky in its delivery. It feels rushed and I honestly don’t know what Takaba sees in Karasuma.

A little choppy story lines. I am not sure if there was another book prior to this. there was a second completely different storyline at the end. it felt like we picked it up in the middle.

this is actually pretty tramatic. way more highlights on the discrimination of it all. there was little joy when finding a partner. almost, a "oh well you are traumatized, but nice. so let's stay together".
not really sure if Miyabi gave up his job though. And the randomness of Utuo...comic relief? why didn't he take advantage of his boss since he know his secret? *PLOT HOLE!!!

tw/cw: rape. lack-of-consent.
Whoa. Idk why but this was a looong read. Things got steamy from the very start. The art was good, and the main protagonist were unique? LOL. The alpha is gentle, good at restraining himself, and very kind, yet the omega is a horny and pushy brat who stand of for himself ((we don't get characters like this all the time right LOL)). This could be a sweet-tooth-rotting story, but the author chose to make it a little bit abrasive. The lack of consent in the initial scenes really bothered me tho.

That's why:

Good. A very spicy omega/alpha story. Karasuma is an omega who uses sex to work his way to the top of his career. Keisuke is an alpha that works under him and doesn't like omegas. Karasuma definitely gets under his skin though. These two are an interesting pair and I'm curious to see how their relationship will work out. There's also another story mixed in but I'm not sure how that will come into it.

It had the potential to be good, but found it boring and uninteresting. To much like most omniverse stories with low level sex that did not help drive the story. Not very strong in characters. Clearly the author only cared about the lame sex of the series then developing a good story and strong character relationship development. Sadly Disappointed.

Hoopla kept recommending this to me, so I read it without reading the summary… should have read the summary first. This is not my first time reading ABO, but this was too much. Would have 1 stared it but the fact that he used pretty much SA on the alpha to show what being an omega is like was revealing for the alpha (but as the reader I just couldn’t get past it being non consensual).

Okay straight up 5/5, it was SO GOOD and i keep re-reading it. So the two MCs are an omega andddddd a BETA! I tend to think of betas in omegaverse as the 'boring' gender, but HOT DAMN im sorry but this beta was a damn snack he was so fucking fineeeeee. I have been making many noises over how damn HOT he was. Unf, that omega is soo lucky.

I won't go into plot etc., but this yaoi was fire.

Normally I'm all for consensual degradation but I was Extremely uncomfortable reading this. I loved the art and felt extremely bad for karasuma and the shitty prejudice; I'm just glad it all worked out at the end.

Alpha Keisuke has just transferred to a new office, hoping for a peaceful work environment filled with fellow Alphas. His illusions are quickly shattered when he meets his new manager, Miyabi Karasuma—a brash Omega who is willing to use his body to get whatever he wants. Keisuke can't stand Omegas, but no matter how hard he tries, he can't avoid Miyabi and is even forced to follow along as Miyabi performs "favours" for business associates. The more he sees Miyabi's life, the more he feels pity for the Omega.
