“Mission Accomplished” is a look at the 1989 Michigan Wolverines basketball team who won the National Championship. The author covered the team for the local Ann Arbor newspaper and provides a smooth, easy writing style. The focus on the unorthodox coaching change from Bill Freider to Steve Fisher brought a little extra to the book and was really the most interesting part of the tournament. Keeping focus on both men, before and after the change, showed the influence of both men and how they were affected by the decision by AD Bo Schembechler, who plays a major part in the drama as well. An excellent recounting that does not get stuck in the details of each and every game. A must read for all Michigan basketball fans.
